  1. Also, I am happy to say that i still have 66 soldiers remaining in the final 82 and two guys I didn't vote for (Breaks and Rose), I almost guarantee will be high on my list in the future.
  2. Ricky Jackson isn't high vote on Piper, minor upset.
  3. Yeah, not exactly the Nature Boy of the PWO-PTBN Network.
  4. There he is!
  5. Death matches for me.
  6. Would have never predicted coming in that Too Cold Scorpio would have more #1 votes than Tanahashi.
  7. I would like more discussion in the threads leading up to the reveal if you think you are going to be on an island on a particular pick. As fun and shocking as the Scott Steiner and Scorpio #1 picks were, I went through their respective threads and didn't see even a hint of the projection some individuals were going to throw upon them. I wouldn't say I was immune of this either as it looks like I will be one of the high votes for someone like Tamura and I wish I would have done longer form posts in presenting my argument.
  8. Scorpio feels like he landed in a good spot with a fairly big aberration in a #1 vote without any other top 10 support. I didn't vote for him, but he was a good to really good worker for most of the stuff I have seen of him throughout his career. The disconnect I have for him making my list is the claim that his 1996 as being "best in the world caliber", but that could be an aversion to almost all things ECW. I find it a fairly similar reason to why I didn't include Tajiri as well.
  9. Little surprised Nak didn't get a top 10 vote in the sense that if you do put up New Japan Vintage in the echelon with other revered time frames in wrestling history like All Japan 1990's, Nakamura is one of the cornerstones of that enormous boom.
  10. I watched Taker vs. Festus last night. Good match with a lot of early fire from Taker. He does slow things down with some arm work that doesn't seem to go much of anywhere but the final 5-6 minutes were well done and gave Festus enough credibility while still retaining Taker as the dominant worker.
  11. "See these things I don't like? I'm just gonna keep shouting about them while totally ignoring anything you say to prove how right I am" If you look back on my posts I've said nothing of the sort. No, you've said nothing of note in this entire thread other then taking shots at the low points of a guy and ignoring the high points, and make the same "Wrestlemania Moment" joke 5 times. Yes, we get it, Taker had some shitty matches, usually with some pretty shitty opponents. Consistency is also not one of his strengths, and that's fair. But he's had 20 years of work were he has, the vast majority of the time, been at least "Good" and often times took the jump to great when given the opportunity in a lot of voters eyes. The challenge is in what area has he been "good" for the vast majority. His punches are good. What other areas?
  12. I didn't vote on Dusty. I think Dusty defeats Taker pretty easily in big match performances, in creating sympathy, and fired up comebacks. Taker's top 5 matches are better in Dusty's, but Dusty feels more consistent over a 81-88 clip than Taker did over any stretch of his career to me.
  13. Also it has a LOT of really high end stuff. Some of the best matches of the 2000's all involve Taker. This was my only challenge and a qualm to what was said. Jimmy's list was riddled with stuff I don't really like (vs. Vince, vs. Brock SummerSlam 2015) but also had a lot of good to very good matches on it. However, I once again only see a few of those as legit contenders as "best matches of the 2000's" talk. A lot of that tv stuff may very well be good matches, I don't remember it, but Kevin Owens had a ***1/2 star match on Raw last week that I won't remember in a year from now more than likely and he wasn't close to my top 100 list. How much of that list and Taker's performances really captivated that he was one of the better worker's of the 2000's. That has to be a case built around him as I can't fathom anyone judging his 90-96 run in high regard or defending most of 1998 and 1999.
  14. Angle would be only contender for me. DK seems much more consistent and that is as someone that doesn't love the Bulldogs run. I think Takers aura can certainly be lost in a lot of matches. He was presented as a special attraction star and had the most protected title reign of sorts (the streak) since possibly the days of Bruno. That can add a lot of umphh for an individual and even in that circumstance, some of his matches are still mostly panned around here like the Mania 22, Mania 27/28, and Mania 30 efforts. Sure with the match at 30, he got hurt, but when that is all you have to judge him in a given year, that is what you have to go on.
  15. vs Bret--SummerSlam '97, One Night Only; vs Shawn--Ground Zero 97, Bad Blood 97, Rumble '98, WrestleMania 25, Mania 26; vs Punk--Mania 29; vs HHH--Mania 27, Mania 28, Mania 17; vs Brock--No Mercy 2002, Hell in a Cell 2015; vs Foley--KOTR '96, SummerSlam '96, KOTR '98; Hell in a Cell--Armageddon 2000; vs Angle--No Way Out 2006; vs Batista--Mania 23; Elimination Chamber--No Way Out 2009; vs Edge--Mania 24, One Night Stand 2008, plus maybe some others I'm forgetting. Most of those matches are pretty good-great. Although he was involved in some god awful stuff as well, which has of course been highlighted here; he's on my ballot, although he's not one of my favorites for the record either. What do you consider the high end Taker stuff from the 2000's? vs Brock, HIAC would be the best obviously. vs HBK, the first Mania one vs Rey at RR2010 vs Punk at WM vs Brock, HIAC from last year those are the best and that is quite a good resume of best stuff However, there is lots of really good matches underneath that. The Flair WM match, the Jeff Hardy matches, the Cena matches, the Kurt Angle match from No Way Out, and a lot more that I can't think of off the top of my head. May be semantics but I would only consider the 2002 HIAC as the best of 2000's from a worldwide perspective contender. The other stuff seems to at the ****/****1/4 level with most rankings. Exception would be how high you go with Mania 25 and 26 but when we did the 100 matches to watch before we die panel, I thought most of us agreed they were very good to great matches without being far removed from them being in the best match of all time level. U_2001 list seems fair but that just reaffirmed that Taker doesn't have the high end stuff in my viewpoint. Much like HHH, he probably has around 15 matches I have ranked at **** or above in his entire career. Add to that a lot of shit that everyone agrees upon and he does feel like one of the biggest blemishes on the top 100 overall.
  16. What do you consider the high end Taker stuff from the 2000's?
  17. 26 down for me which means I beat Steven and Parv in having more on my top 100 than them on the overall top 100 rankings. Mission Accomplished. I am also delighted that only three workers in my top 65 have hit so far and only one in my top 49 (Dynamite Kansai).
  18. Was really hoping for Hero to make top 100, guys list of versatility with different wrestlers is amazing. He only added to his case two weeks ago with another very good to great match vs. Yehi and a classic vs Sabre.
  19. Larry was a top 120 guy that I enjoyed but he didn't make my top 100 on the consistency argument. Still, the series with Bruno, Bock, the Enforcers stuff, and Regal stuff are all nice highlights.
  20. Nice run for Larry Z.
  21. Still only have 17 gone and none higher than my #65 which was Yoshida.
  22. Fitting that Kandori was ahead of Brody as she was a much more intense brawler IMO.
  23. Sabu is the first guy to break the 30% balloth threshold.
  24. I got big timed by Johnny P once during a wrestling watching session with Will. We recommended some matches and then next thing I know, hes talking about watching the stuff with someone else.
