Higher than Loss and Childs but a little more restraint would have been beneficial. Still, I think this was at least every good and from a storyline perspective this hit a lot of great notes like Liger cheering on Samurai and the leg work utilized by Kanemoto.

If this was adlibbed, I am impressed and I think the wonkiness of everything is added by the unpredictability of Savage. Dillion really sold his beating well.
-
I liked this video a lot showing DDP struggling and then turning it all around. It also showcases that he has a wide arsenal of moves.

These keep getting better an better and we get the evolution of where Mankind is today. This installment focused on Cactus Jack and they way they interspersed in the footage was really clever.
-
Austin/Shawn actually made a pretty good heel tag team when they were working together. LOD was pretty much done by this time and it showed here. I have liked the build to KOTR a lot better than I remembered.
-
Sunny doesn't send to be interjected in any big storylines but they keep her doing stuff like this to keep her in mind of the viewer.
-
I like that we get a little teaser for the big interview coming up tonight.
-
We get the big three factions going against each other in an angst ridden promo. All things considered, the audible to Austin vs. HBK worked for me.
-
Big fan of this also. I was glad that Liger going to the well too many times got cut off by Kanemoto. He kept trying to do his power strikes but was stunted when he gets overzealous. Kanemoto gets a huge win for him and the fans rejoice.

This looks like the match is taking place underneath my bed with the ceiling looking like the bottom of my mattress. Big schmozz at the end with the end result being Stevie laying out Funk again.
-
I really liked Stevies promo and can relate to his passion and cheer for him unlike whiny Raven. I don't know whether we just aren't getting them but where the hell have the Funk promos went. I really like Meanine as the Blue Guy for comedy relief and their fake Rodman.
-
Another crazy promo ending with Dutch revealing an ECW shirt and calling out Gypsy Joe throughout.
-
I marked like crazy for some Billy Joe and we get a good brawl between him and Christopher. Christopher feels pretty loss at this point and time.
-
Pretty surreal to see this and the Blue Guy knocking off Ramon in 1997.
-
I liked Russell getting in on the action of digging into ECW. Trying to be cutting edge and having a video of Nirvana in 1997 is pretty ironic. Lawler really feels like a heel here to me even though I know he is a face in Memphis.
-
Kawada looks way out of shape for this match, I don have high hopes for the 6/6 match. The clips look good and I may want to see the match in full but its too chopped up to tell from what we see here. Good moment at the end with Kobashi/Ace winning.

[1991-08-10-USWA-Memphis TV] Tom Prichard vs Dirty White Boy
soup23 replied to Loss's topic in August 1991
Good stuff for the studio and it ends with frantic action as Jarrett decks MS. Texas and they take out DWB with crutches. -
[1991-08-10-USWA-Memphis TV] Jerry Lawler vs Leatherface / Jerry Lawler BBQ
soup23 replied to Loss's topic in August 1991
The blowoff it appears to the Leatherface was good. The promo with Lawler hyping a match with Reggie B Fine feels weird and I didn't really like the BBQ tie in. -
[1991-08-10-WWF-Superstars] Ultimate Warrior and Jake Roberts
soup23 replied to Loss's topic in August 1991
It does feel weird that you have all these multi layer angles going on with Warrior that is weird. They really should have ditched the main event and went Hogan/Warrior vs. Taker/Slaughter or two singles matches between those. I really liked the atmosphere and music of this one. -
[1991-08-10-NJPW-G1 Climax] Big Van Vader vs Keiji Muto
soup23 replied to Loss's topic in August 1991
What a super stiff match. I have always wanted a great match that occurred on my birthday and I have found it with this one. Vader mauls Mutoh but he hangs in there and uses his flash to offset it. The crowd going apeshit at the end throwing the seats was an awesome visual. The type of handheld where you are still able to feel all the stiffness and struggle of the match.- 21 replies
