  1. I'm with Kevin in that this is in my top 10 for the year and to me feels like one of the better Wargames type matches. I dont necessiarly know if those have better execution than this. The performances of Bret/Austin/Owen are all amazing. You knew Owen and Austin would be coming back out for the finale but they built to that spot well. The Shoving spot at the finish was also teased earlier in really good fashion. I liked that the Harts still took the shortcuts in the match and werent pandering just for the audience. It kept everything within storyline sense while making this match feel special. The golddust vs. Bret segment makes we wish they would have had feud for the title from Survivor Series 1995 to WM12. Shamrock careening into the table was a nice spot and this really feels like the last highlight of Pillman's career. Really the only person that was bad to me was Anvil and he certainly didn't do enough to detract too much. The match feels like a jazz jam in that the cohesiveness may not exactly be top notch but the peaks and valleys are so good that you excuse that because you couldn't have reached the crescendo any other way.
  2. Maybe if you just watched WWF, this was a rare occurrence but this screams of the template that the ROH DG six man set that it was only an average match of the one they have in Japan. I disagree with that statement on the ROH front, but it holds true here as they had some good highspots that all looked good and not much meat to the match beyond that. Everything else was a transition to the next high spot. I would still call the match good but I do think it kind of falters the overall stigma of this PPV slightly as there is no way it has two blow away great matches.
  3. I have been able to remember this little feature over time so they did a good job showing how important the harts were to the city.
  4. I have no fucking clue whether this was good, but it was really fun to watch. The visual of one barefoot Tenryu giving enzurguri's was something else. Him and Goto are kind of the master of this thematic dynamic and they really felt like they reached exactly what they wanted to accomplish here.
  5. This was great title mach lucha. Engaging mat work with some tidbits you don't see very much at all. I agree that Santo took it up a notch and allowed a more urgent sense that made Felino look stronger by resulting to high flying so early on in this match. The finishw as a clever screwy one that involves Casas and Bestie into the proceedings more and should result in a rematch between Felino and Santo. One of the better matches of the year up to this point.
  6. We at least now get a hook for DDP's match at BATB with Raven hopping the railing and hennig making his debut. I enjoy that WCW doesn't shy away from past histories that Page has.
  7. Thank you B.B. for the comments and welcome to the board.
  8. This mini feud was begging for Rey to pull off some type of big upset. Instead he gets killed and looks pretty foolish. nash beats him up and Konnan joins up on top. Raven makes his debut.
  9. Good ol Wildcat Willie! The Harley bike was ridic but absolutely cool. These entrances have been hitting it out of the part as they have scaled down and focused on the main players when Hogan is involved. Hogan talks about the nights proceedings and the big party that is being planned. I liked Larry adding int he cruiserweight title loss at the end.
  10. You can't follow Loss trying to track this because you know what will happen. Ill just say Night One of the big kick off is really good.
  11. Damn between the kid at KOTR and this woman, quite the month for fans jumping the aisle. Bearer calls Taker a red headed punk. We get some good backstory on Kane and Taker that if they could have kept to would have been awesome.
  12. This was good showing Taker backstage and setting the stage for what Bearer is about to reveal.
  13. Clips shown of Sunny. Apparently her and PIllman have a little something going on.
  14. Jericho gets overwhelmed at first but then takes over and hits the upset to win the Cruiserweight title.
  15. Lawler calling Christopher a very close personal friend of his is great. Lawler wont be at the ECW arena but he is sending Pritchard to do the battle of the bodydonnas.
  16. PJ is doing his best Konnan promo at this point. I'm not usually a guy that goes for looks in wrestlng, but damn does PJ have a brutal look here that looks low rent when he cant really make it work like Dundee can.
  17. Thiis Billy Joe thing turned into an angle is something else. Pg-13 are then out for a promo and basically calls the USWA the shits. Wolfie looks more "sophisticated" than he did for a while. Them wearing ECW and showing their allegiance to them is good fun.
  18. Lawler has some stern words for the Sandman. The Brawl to End it All is a nice tagline. Christopher gives a fairly decent promo too.
  19. Yeah I guess we can throw out the window of Page mis speaking because they clearly used Sting as a red herring that he would be the partner. End of the segment was cool but the actual action looked pretty rough.

  21. Chi Town Rumble, WrestleWar 89, and GAB 89 are a pretty good combo as well.
  22. I have a good memory but I keep a Wrestling File for all of my rankings on matches. Only started doing this around two years ago and it has become very beneficial. Before I was apprehensive if my opinion changed on a match and I was sort of "scared" to put out a rating that would look foolish in retrospect. Now, I just try to defend my position as best as I can and if I change my mind, I change my mind.
  23. I liked the facial expressions of everyone and the overall themeing of this more than how it played out as an 11 minute condensed segment. The jake bit in the hallway was very interesting from a foreshadowing standpoint.
  24. These interviews of Luger as champ are not doing him favors out of the gate as they feel so generic and nothing personal about it.
  25. Short video showing the Rodman/Hogan tandem. Rodman only has a couple of lines to say and he is able to handle that. This looked really bad ass.
