  1. Shawn's Come as your are attire was hideous. This segment was great and I think an underrated one from this whole series as I hadn't heard much about it. Austin is able to segue in between his feuds flawlessly. Really looking forward to the tag match.
  2. I think I have decided that bomb throwing Steiners = good fun, dog faced gremlin schtick and talking to Alex = I wanna punch a window
  3. Another great show boys. Kelly thinking about Denucci in the shower is something else. I'm picturing Parv doing the same thing to Dibiase, Sorrow to Albano, and James to Bulldog Bob. Pete is able to restrain his adulation for people but perhaps Steamboat? The Larry vs. Bruno feud seems fascinating. I was wondering if there were any comparisons to it that seem to correlate? I was thinking it mainly sounded like a Japanese or lucha feud in that the angle transfixed the company but was really contained between a personal vendetta between two individuals. No outside personal stuff seemed to be brought in and it didn't seem to make an overarching social commentary like the boss/worker context of Austin vs. Vince or USA vs. Canada from 1997. Cant wait to dig into this youtube footage.
  4. Always love these stream of conscious thoughts. Really think so? I think I have lessened a lot over them since we started watching and Parv is always a big fan. I feel like their 1991 run will receive more criticism from me than the 90 stuff because I really don't like the Scott vs. Flair Clash match and am lower on Superbrawl I than most. I love the Nasties tag coming up and liked the Scott gauntlet they did in September 1990. 1990 may be my favorite year of them overall.
  5. Richard Simmons is one celebrity I would put fairly lateral to Hogan.
  6. What a great main event match. The Wolfpack really sold this. They could have slept walk through a decent match but decided to make this a great one with their antics and overall bumping. Flair played his role well as the established legend not going to back down. Kevin Greene was a monster and again looked good doing his wrestling spots. My least favorite person in the match was Piper but he was decent at times too. The ending is one of the more satisfying things in any company so far in 1997 and the pop was huge. This has been catapulted into one of my favorite matches list and along with Hogan vs. Flair from BaTB, the two biggest overlooked classic WCW matches from watching a yearbook
  7. I thought the ending stretch of this was pretty good. Reggis didnt look bad doing his suplex and the finish of Mongo winning was legit surprising to me since most celebrities get the rub over the sports stars. Reggie also looked like he was having a ton of fun. I find it amazing that we havent really had any sports/wrestling crossover since Floyd fought show unless I am forgetting something.
  8. These guys know how to do an angle on PPV and not make it feel cheap. This was fabulous stuff and DDP swinging the cane as a mad man was a great visual.
  9. I really dug this. Neat matwork leading into the progression of highspots and high flying moves. Add in some Onno interaction that I liked and a hot crowd along with a cool ass finish is all you need to have a very good opening contest. Kudos for Regal and a feather in his cap. Ultimo was also game for this match.
  10. Still haven't connected to anything ECW since Barely Legal. The blood was more memorable than the stuff with Beuleh to me.

  12. Thanks Peter for the clarification.
  13. Somewhere in my brain, I kept getting bounty hunter and repo men mixed up. Had a real off day yesterday and didn't want to say something foolish like, "he was dressed to the sevens" or "shaking my head"
  14. Is Len Denton realated to Joel Denton that would show up on some All Japan 90's stuff I watched? All I could think about was Joel when Parv asked the question. Steiner vs. HHH is a good call on worst main event and one I would put behind JYD/Flair as far as match quality is concerned.
  15. I wouldn't sell the Cena/Umaga match short. I would probably pick the tag match ahead of it but I have no problem in anyone placing that Cena vs. Umaga match in a top 10 WWF/WWE all time list and it feels like the quintessential Cena performance.
  16. I know he had been unmasked before but in regards to Liger whne he gets his masked ripped, its a big deal. This may have catapulted their feud, but it felt like a massive cheat to me. I never appreciate a stipulation match ending when the winner receives the thing he put up at stake.
  17. This was a sight to see and felt like a really good argument for the FBi being a great tag team. The Eliminators looked ok in their big moves here but as always a little sloppy. The glue was clearly held together by the FBI using classic heel techniques to flesh out the match. Really solid tag action.
  18. Morton rolling out here was a great WTF moment even though Ian mentioned it in the IWA-MS match. This was a much better showing for him. He was bleeding like crazy and looked like a mess. One thing about FMW so far though is that the heels are really getting over on the babyfaces in the glimpses we have seen. I probably liked this less than everyone else but it was still a load of fun.
  19. Sort of weird that this was the last segment before Slamboree as I would have flipped it with the NWO/Piper-Flair-Greene interaction. Sting gets to beat up jobber Sting and chase off Bischoff but it is good Sting was there or else this would have been a weak Nitro from a star power standpoint.
  20. I have enjoyed this buildup and the insults from the NWO made one of these via satellite segments come off more organically than you would imagine. The ultimate ending to me honestly is Flair taking out Nash and laying out Syxx allowing Mysterio to win a belt from him.
  21. Quite the bizarre ending segment to Raw. hart Foundation is led out and we get a verbal beatdown of Shawn with him essentially just hovering over a wheelchair Bret. I thought this was when he superkicked him and was shocked when the show just abruptly went off the air.
  22. Pretty quick segment and shocking that Macho made the trip just for this.
  23. I liked the subtle implication that Dusty might be watching Raw. I again don't know how to feel about these segments at all.
  24. RIP PG-13. Fun squash that had the highlight of the kung fu spot.
  25. Really weird that Vince didn't answer him and Im still not sure how Vince is trying to portray himself right now. The snake analogy was great and I liked that Austin said he would champ one day. Another good promo which is par the course.
