I see it another way. I am all in on PIllman and really like the fact that they say he is not an official member as they havent really brought him in as one of their own but will use his loose canon stuff when it benefits him.

Welp everyone is screwed up because of the big backstage fight. Does kind of fill like some momentum was stunted with this news.

I thought this was really damn good minus the picnic spot and the photographer spot which as everyone has mentioned felt like too much. The brawling here sustained a good pace and the hate was very stated mixing in some good bumps. I just watched Taker vs. HHH from WM 17 and this blew that match away as far as intensified crowd brawling. Macho picks up a win and good to see the NWO have his back.

http://placetobenation.com/the-brad-and-ch...ash-of-the-pod/ The Brad and Chad Show is back with a vengeance. In this episode, Brad and Chad discuss Kassius Ohno’s release, the potential sale of TNA, the state of the union of Atlanta sports, The Spring of 2001 in the world of wrestling, WrestleMania 17, HHH vs. Undertaker WrestleMania matches, urban legend handicapping and so much more. Along the way is all the hijinks and side discussions that comprise a Brad and Chad episode. The sports talk occurs from around the 18 minute mark to just after the 32 minute mark if that is not your thing.

You can say that this is just a list but I honestly feel like when Loss completes the 1998 and 1999 yearbook and watches some footage and adjusts his rankings the final output will be pretty important in the scheme of ranking matches for a few reasons. 1. Meltzer is always sighted as the judge to hold star ratings by. He seemed to watch the widest variety of stuff and ranked a lot of matches throughout the 90's. Opinions are just opinions but Loss' list will at least give a counterpoint that you can compare to the Meltzer rankings. 2. I am a big fan of revision. Its just something I appreciate doing. Loss at the end of the project will have watched at a bare minimum of 1200 hours of 90's footage in probably around 3.5 years of time. This would be the equivalent of watching over 1 hour a day during the current timeframe. That amount of watching condensed in that tight a timeframe allows you to compare numerous matches across the whole decade and it gives you a significant sample size to be able to adequately compare/contrast. If I am able to plow through the yearbooks, I hope to be able to compile my own list.

First question: Is Joe Garagiola as big a cultural icon as Molly Ringwald since you talk about him being a well known announcer? Second question: Do you think that Terry Funk is the "bridge" guy from the technical NWA style world champion to the Race/Flair workrate, full on heel, action packed style champion?

I wouldn't be opposed to recycled material but I guess I was thinking about a more focused range with the documentaries they could do. Like instead of the Pick your Poison doc of Jake, they could do a specific one on his 1991 heel turn, Do one on Flairs run in 1992, 1993 etc.

When you open up the vote box, which match is which (its easy enough before then with the G-1 text). Anyway, Ill vote for Naito. I have no idea if he is ready for the spotlight or not but I do recall a lot of bewildered comments at Okada being put in the IWGP match in February 2012 and that turned out ok so I think now that Gedo/Jado have decided to go with Naito as the G-1 champ and the next challenger, they should honor that stipulation and give it the main event spot. Same reason I was dismayed at Edge curtain jerking WM 27 against Royal Rumble winner Del Rio.

Interested to see Chicana based on the 80's footage. This is the description of a brawling in the crowd match as that is literally all they do. I wouldn't call it bad per say and both were a bloddy mess, but even after 12-13 minutes I was waning of it. Did like seeing Tirantes get smashed with the guitar and the bump he took though. Good glimpse at AAA in 1997 and the attendance looked good but man the work was pretty bad in this company this year.

Charles was right on in that I adored this. The south has the moniker of things going "slower" in life but this segment conveyed the sentiment that can be rooted in southern tradition. Fargo doesn't have a ton to say, probably hasn't watched the show in ages and yet fits right in giving jabs with Stacy, Lance, and the gang. He talks just like my uncle who would always come to my family's labor day BBQ in a camper and peddle stuff that you had no idea how/why he acquired it. After the impromptu yard sale, we would sit by the campfire while we rotated the pig, and he would just shoot the shit. Thinking back now at those memories (he passed away almost a year ago actually), you cant really recall specifics and realize the stories weren't that funny and you have no idea why you were laughing in the first place, yet there you were in the moment not wanting to be anywhere else and soaking it all in. Jackie Fargo conveys this so much. I wish there was more footage of him more than any other wrestler in history that we have a lack of footage of.

Well we get the build up to the loser leaves town match so I am assuming this is the write off for Jacobs. Pretty putrid and weird feud all around.

Eugene makes his first yearbook appearance I believe here. No idea who the huge lard he is wrestling is on the truth commission side. The arena looked really sad especially compared to the MSC dedication ceremony I just watched in 1991. Billy Joe cheats to win the belt and the Dreamer vs. King clips looked like a good brawl.

Thought about DDP but much like the Mick Foley rule, I didn't include him.

I thought the idea brought up to play old footage like Nitro during Raw and Smackdown's live airings was genius. I would run those straight through. Otherwise here is a couple of ideas I had in mind: 1. Mash Up nights - Have 1 ladder match followed by a 1970's NWA title match followed by and ECW brawl etc. This keeps the viewer entertained and not burnt out on watching 1 style. 2. Saturday Night's Main Event - Showcasing a big feud with the matches from the feud and perhaps either a roundtable discussion or some analysis from the competitors. 3. Also liked the idea of 1 reality night. Get Legends House, Total Divas, and any other reality programming out of the way in 1 night. 4. 30 for 30 type wrestling documentaries. Find interesting topics and give a good overall documentary on them. Even WWE approved topics like Andre or the Rock N WRestling era would be interesting to watch. 5. Late night territories or old school PPV's. I think the key is when you are aiming to catch the mindless viewer who cant sleep, to play up nostalgia.

The brawl at the beginning is really weird with Dungeon of Doom and everyone else involved. Things get better with Piper out there and then we get the Randy/DDP pull apart. Sting comes flying down. IT looked really dangerous how he lifted DDP up to save him. Cool ending aside, this felt thrown together.

Tons of NWO fans in attendance and Hogan eats it up. We get a few minutes of action showing Luger's dominance until the Wolfpac hit the scene. We then get the big beatdown on Luger as the 2nd hour pyro go off. Pretty good stuff and a way to kickstart the summer feud and bridge to Hogan vs. Sting.
-
Luger brings up it being February since Hogan defended the title, he challenges him tonight but I guess it is nontitle?
-
Oh so this was the date of the brawl in the back. Weird that Vince wont mention Bret by name. Pillman is not in the physical state he was early in the decade, but he crafted a pretty good match here with kicks, punches, and intensity. Commentary with Mankind is well done and how that is the reason the crowd is weird. Nice brawl ends the match.

I really liked the ways these built up. Each part built up the next and we had a shocking conclusion with him attacking JR. Wonderful produced pieces that are some of the best stuff we have seen in this loaded year.
-
Man Jerry sounded rough. Paul E and Dreamer coming in was a rush and this has been quite the three days for the King.

We get a clip of Raw swag with Sunny featured. SCSA has certainly getting more pops as the year has progressed. It still hasn't really reached a Daniel Bryan summer 2013 level but its really fun to watch the rise. Vince interviewing him is always a good time and Ausitn has hypes the match with Pillman for later on tonight. Austin also says he will beat up the whole Hart family.
