  1. Wonderful interview with Jarrett sounding as sincere as he could detailing how JC Ice has lead astray from his dad's plans.
  2. Good job of the reluctant partners having to come together for the greater good.
  3. On one hand, I can see that there still was legs in the Gilbert vs. Lawler battles, but on the flipside I do think this Texas vs. Tennessee feud has been a ton of fun so far and Im excited to see it play out with gilbert turning face.
  4. We get more fleshing out of the undercard for Mania. The war analogies are a bit much but Hulk's promo has a lot of passion and I do want to see him beat up Slaughter. Martel has let his hair grow out a bit and it looks weird. The Blindfold match is announced.
  5. Savage vs. Warrior is really feeling like one of Savages memorable feuds along with vs. Hogan and Steamboat. I also loved the WM 7 match but had forgotten how well it had been built up and how refreshing Savage seems since essentially the Zues stuff got played out.
  6. This was the first evidence on the yearbook that Doom's run is coming to an end which saddens me.
  7. Nasty little brawl which is what I was hoping for in Lawler vs. Gilbert. Weapons used, punches being thrown around, and overall a lot of hatred heating up the feud. Embry being newly minted heel helped the crowd reaction. This is probably a match that wont rate on my top 100 but is really good and would get a high recommendation for fans of Dundee or Embry.
  8. Agree with everyone else that this was a step down from the January match but still plenty good. I liked the use of basic but effective work that prevailed in here as a contrast to some of the innovative spots they pulled off in their first match. Finish being botched was disappointing but I did like the post match beatdown.
  9. I loved the revamp of the PTW. Pick the Brain was a fun segment and Bobby was quick on his feet.
  10. Of all the wrestling hotlines, this one may be the bottom of the barrel and $2.00 sounds crazy.
  11. One of my favorite promos as a kid and it still holds up to this day. Great piece of character work with virgil.
  12. this was stupid as hell and I can't understand how anyone thought this would be a better alternative.
  13. Thought Lawler coming out was a fine amount of time and I liked how team Texas continued to beat them up for most of the segment. Promos at the end were good and every promotion seems to be in a pretty fun spot at this point in 1991.
  14. So much to digest here. Action with Lawler and Gilbert looked hot and what I hoped the Texas match would be. No matter how many times I see old man Eddie Marlin get into it, I can't get enough and his brawl with Tommy Gilbert was great. Then once everything seems to be fizzled we get Embry and Dr. Tom attacking Lawler starting a brand spanking new hot feud. The promo Embry gave in studio was great and I can't wait to see what develops between him and Gilbert in the weeks to come.
  15. JC Ice is born and DWB gives a good rundown on his motives to join this crew.
  16. Its still weird to think about in retrospect how wasted Steamboats run is from mid 1989 until November 1991. Thats two year gap really hurts his overall candidacy in my mind. It is like a major athlete having an ACL injury during his peak.
  17. Memories abound here. I definitely still have the Hogan wrestling buddy and my ring and a good bit of those figures.
  18. I miss these reports so bad. They do so good running down the matches. I thought Slaughters / Hogans promos were good and miles better than the nonsense spewed last year. Savage takes this to another level though with an amazing promo.
  19. This was a cool debut to see and I liked Piper and Vince's commentary. They continue to put over the Savage vs. Warrior match setting up that feud after Mania.
  20. Fun segment to get a sense of the tag division at the time and how the Nasties were presented going into WM 7.
  21. Dr. Tom was driving me nuts on commentary. I agree that as a schtick stand alone match its fine but they bring up the blood feud aspects from Memphis so overall this was disappointing as it could have been one of the signature staples of the feud and instead is just fun, Memphis stuff.
  22. I thought this was an excellent show and the hour flew by. I hope Greg is on again because his discussion on Watson and Londos was very interesting and Greg had a good perspective on the business as a whole.

    Current WWE

Is WWE gettiing into a WCW 1992 type vibe? The main angles arent working but there has been plenty of good tv matches lately and Extreme Rules on paper looks like a pretty great PPV to me even though none of the feuds minus the Shield winning belts interests me.
  24. Good promo by Martel and they continue to build up this feud as one of the main ones for WM.
  25. I loved this segment being real sentimental to the Omni. The retrospective and prospective Dusty gave on todays wrestler was well done.
