This didn't excite me much and seems to be going backwards given Kabuki a belt at this point of time.

Yeah these really seemed played out watching them all in a few day span.

I like the prospect of building Hansen for Havoc. Good match that did a good job of pushing Hansen's current persona over as out of control. He did give a lot to Rich in this match also. Fun nugget in the yearbook setting.

I popped for the Lawler/Snowman partnership. Was not enthusiastic at the prospect of Gaylord vs. Snowman.

Again USWA hypes of a match by essentially saying someone is going to get stripped. How many times did they tease this and not deliver before fans got sick of it? This was a long and weaving segment but it accomplished a lot and made Gilbert look like a star. Tatum continues to be my breakout star and is hilarious in his promo.
-
Haven't seen much of Burton before and he looks only adequate. The beatdown and piledriver from Lawler was a good way to eliminate him.

This promo got genuine emotion from me and it was amazing how he started very soft and calm and got progressively louder.

We get some funny comments from Vince and Jesse when they pan to a girl in the crowd. Good beatdown from Demos that solidified their heel turn.

Let me start by saying that I really like Hashimoto and really want to see his whole career arc play out. That being said, I don't think I am quite as high on him as most everyone else because I still see him as a step down a lot of times from the All Japan heavyweights. I do think Hashimoto is the type of wrestler I resonate with him the more I watch because while his execution at times was iffy, the emotional aspect of his matches usually delivered in spades.

Arn rules with the dark glasses and calculating promo. Sid not so much.

Really great match. Only annoying moment for me was when Wada thought he was Tommy Young or something and kicked Fuchi's hands off the ropes. Fuchis mixes in dickish strikes with cranking out moves so well and Kikuchi was really polished and timed his near falls perfectly. 6/8/90 really set the table for the crowd to buy into the finishes also.

2/3 falls vs. Snowman sounds really interesting since they went relatively long for them in their last MSC match.

Demolition just seemed diluted adding Crush. I kind of liked Crush's face paint actually.

Finished the year end show, great show like always. I appreciated Dylan spelling out criticisms with the Shield/Hell No-Ryback match. I can certainly see people that adore that match but I had some pretty big severe problems with it that didn't make it resonate for me. Also enjoyed the variety of matches mentioned very much. I was kind of surprised no one mentioned HHH/Taker from Wrestlemania. I know Dylan didn't like that match very much but I figure it to do well in the final observer awards and besides Michael’s junior high acting job, I enjoyed the actual in ring work a good deal.

I don't agree with this. I think Shawn's Rockers stuff is pretty incredible in how good it is and his other big matches from 1994-1996 ( two ladder matches vs. Razor, 10/30/94 Action Zone Tag, Survivor Series vs. Sid) held up really well for me. Everything on the level of Bret's stuff except for WM 10 vs. Owen and the two Austin matches.

Only going to comment on 1994 Bret but it seemed pretty up and down. I am probably a bigger component of his Owen Summerslam cage match than most around here and I think the Survivor Series match was a great theater. Obviously, the match vs. Owen at Wrestlemania is a classic and remains one of the ten best 1990's WWF matches. His match vs. 123 Kid seemed like a great unheralded match that showed Bret really working hard to make Kid look good. On the other hand, his match at KOTR 1994 with Diesel was disappointing and not as good as Diesel's matches vs. Razor. He also never really seemed to be "the guy." That is a intangible thing to argue but many times with watching him in 1994, I was shocked at how unover he was. The match with 123 Kid for instance had very little heat. 1994 featured Bret's longest title run and it never felt like a legendary championship reign in any sense of the word. I haven't seen much from him on the 1990 yearbook but the Martel MSG left a really bad taste in my mouth because I thought that was probably the worst possible match those two could have together at the time. I guess most people would point to 1997 as Bret's best year and I look forward to that yearbook to see where his stuff holds up or not.

Great review Dylan. On paper, this would be a show I wouldn't look at twice after reading the lineup but after the review, I actually am going to seek this out.

These jokers sit on their hands for Doom/RNR but go ape shit for El Gigante. Ole get surprised again when he gets snuck up on. Ross does a great job calling this match. I liked this way more than everyone else so far. It could have used a few minutes and some of stings selling was a little spotty, but the moment was great and they did a good job not overbooking the actual match. I have no problem with Sting giving respect to Flair and thought he was humble. I also thought the actual work was kind of a greatest hits style variety but the work was good and the finish was clever.

Crowd for this show was a weird bird. Kind of amazing it has only been two years since GAB 88 and how hot they were for that show compared to this. I really enjoyed this match a lot and thought Doom looked really good controlling the match. RNR can take a beating with the best of them and the result was a more classic structured tag match from the Southern Boys/ MX but still very good in ring.

Finish was a lot better than I would have imagined and heat was good. I was impressed that Luger got Taker up in the rack.

Good legends style match and I really kind of miss this match in wrestling as they both seem so wiley and its fun for the viewer to see the wrestlers still go. Race especially looked a lot better than I would have imagined.

I have this one match below MX/RNR on 2/25 but that is certainly not a knock on this as The Southern Boys came in as relative unknowns and really made a name for themselves. I love all the tweaks done to the formula and thought they worked well. I also really liked the resourcefulness in the shine segment of the southern boys. Great match overall.

They certainly didn't dial it back between this and the chaos in the earlier angle. Jeannie is so hate able in a glorious way right now.
