At least if you're going to have a civilian do something physical in the ring, they picked a believable guy. And they had him do only one move. But Rawley is lame. I wanted Indian Guy. He looked badass facing down with Gronk.

As far as cluster fuck royales go, this one doesn't suck.

That Indian guy going after Dolph.

I never get over how *black* Ron Killings is. Like smell the glove levels of black.

DAMN ! I think hour two is on USA, too, which is why they're doing the intro again.

The eye rake was superb heelishness!

That kick to stop AA's suicide dive early in the match was insane.

We should count how many wrestlers have facial hair tonight. Last night on the Takeover show, I think it was every single guy except maybe Nakamura. Two for starters.
-
I think the pre-show is free, so they're trying to encourage people to subscribe to the network.

A-double match starting now. Also, if Nia Jax wins, I riot. This is not the place to see if she's ready for a big push.

Just me, all alone in my little apartment.

Aside from ACW show starting 30 min late, the ACW and FIP streams worked well for me today.

Is Lawler sick? I know he joked about makeup. But he looks and sounds awful. And he's completely unenergetic.

I have cookies, chips, and ice cream. Just about to settle onto the couch.

I quite enjoyed the action in this one, as well as the way they handled the Dusty run-in after match. These four guys can go, and if you're in the mood for flippy-dippy, then you'll get it. What I did not enjoy was the pre-match with Corino, which felt like it went on and on and on. There was a lot of repeating statements, especially once Heyman comes out. Surely they could have been more efficient.

[2000-01-09-ECW-Guilty as Charged] Sabu vs Rob Van Dam
Kronos replied to soup23's topic in January 2000
RVD vs Sabu is what you would expect from those guys in ECW. But I noticed at least 2 spots where Sabu goes top rope to hard floor - landing on his feet. How do his knees not explode into a puff of dust? Later in the match, he does wrap one of his knees and limps around. I think he legit hurt himself. -
I loved me some Gargano in that tag match. I commented on Twitter that the main event felt very Japanese but needed more head dropping. And then they did some scary looking head drops, especially that final DDT that won the match. Guys, I was just kidding!

The AJPW/Noah Spilt - Online fans perspective from that time
Kronos replied to SPS's topic in Pro Wrestling
Yes, I think those Japan guys could tell some great stories. But maybe there's a sense that one doesn't talk in public. I still wonder if the disagreement with Misawa was about placement in the hierarchy. We'll probably never know, since now it's an issue of not wanting to speak ill of the dead. -
The AJPW/Noah Spilt - Online fans perspective from that time

Why didn't Kawada go to NOAH with the other guys? Was he perhaps tired of playing second fiddle to Misawa and saw this as his chance to be THE MAN finally? -
My biggest memory of this Rumble was the Rikishi/2 Cool segment. And it's still my favorite segment on this watch. I had forgotten just how dead the crowd was for most of these guys. Part of it is that three of your most over guys - Angle, Foley, and Haitch - all wrestled earlier on the show. Plus, Tazz had already been revealed. Today, they likely would have surprise entered him in the Rumble instead of giving him his own match. Having Angle eliminate him could have set up a feud with them. And probably the crowd was burned out after the Foley/HHH match. The January Raw and SD I have seen has already been very good. The matches on this show are good to great. And IIRC, the post-Mania PPVs are quite good. So we're moving in a very good direction, even if the RR match itself is middling.

Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard
Kronos replied to Lust Hogan's topic in Publications and Podcasts
It's actually become kind of a running joke/bit, hasn't it? Same with "Was that a rib". -
Well, then, more SMW. (though that's pretty easily available in nice quality) But maybe they don't like the way Cornette talks about them. WCWSN 1991-92 would work, too. Oh, and where the heck is Championship/Superstars, especially 1983-85? Maybe that's coming once the Raw/SD is complete. Not being ungrateful. Just wish-listing.

I will never not mark out like a fool when Kawada boots Misawa off the apron to the floor. It's just so fast and unexpected, and Misawa sells it like death. And then -- even though now you're expecting it -- when he does the exact same thing to Kobashi soon after, all you can say is, "&*$!, I love rasslin." And that's just in the opening moments of the match.
