This. I actually typed something about how I was sick of the "mental health" card being played when people like Cass for instance act like complete assholes, then I felt it was opening a can of worms. For the record, I have delt with depression, I have had (severe) mental breakdowns and I have been close with people with issues, so I know what the fuck I'm talking about in terms of let's not put everything on the back of our own mental issues to always find ourselves excuses or play victims. Not saying Mauro is doing that, but I see a lot of "mental health" card being thrown often, much more often that it should. And that's all I'm going to say about that particular point, because PWO.

I don't give a flying fuck about Mauro's Twitter drama. To me Mauro is a god fucking awful announcer and he's actively preventing me from enjoying anything he's calling. That's about it.

Yeah, so can we get rid of that old guy spewing "aww the physicality" every three minutes now ?

Hey, glad I'm not the only one who is thinking about Raven when Darby Allin is around. I totally got that Raven vibe from the Mox match, in that Allin just takes a beating like no one else, much like Raven used to do. That and the creepiness aspect of the character. I would absolutely have those two plus : Sami Callihan : MVP of wherever he goes. His stuff in IMPACT building the feud with Brian Cage has been awesome, the match totally delivered, his work with Tessa has been terrific too. Taya Valkyrie : she has blossomed as a character since Mr. Impact left, she's been mean, funny, carried herself as a total star and she's probably at her best in-ring too at this point. John Moxley : Half Austin half Brody. Was awesome in the G1. Is awesome in every AEW match he's been. Feels special.

T-shirt Mania. They won't unionize after being left in Saudi Arabia but they are fighting for Brand Supremacy and you are all invited !

Word. I would watch the women's Wargame, but Mauro is just *that* annoying to me.

I think it's safe to say they can do vignettes...

The Omega interview was great. Sorry, but this guy is the best. Comes off smart, humble to a degree (not without a sense of confidence about being great), most of all very level headed, talking about how he's still learning how to be a star in a US wrestling TV format, his love for joshi puroresu and how he would spent lots of money in 1999 buying tapes (yeah ! I've been there !), the fact he and the Bucks are more interested at this point with creating new stars, how they are in long-term and therefore not worry about a ratings war, the whole Jim Cornette thing. Just terrific stuff.

The thing is, as LAX they always had Konnan to carry the out of the ring segments and promo time, and the three of them had an excellent dynamic. They do miss that aspect of their game as characters to me. LAX was definitely more interesting than P&P from that perspective. Still a terrific team though.

And then AEW is gonna do a Match Beyond in a few months with buckets of blood to settle an actual blood feud between two factions. The whole "yearly gimmick matches" was bad already, but now that you *have to* do both a men and a women version because well because, it's even worse.

I sure know what Youtube search to do now whenever I'm bored. No. Never.

T-shirt Mania is so lame.

Yeah, the gauntlet match was fantastic. Total main event star performance from Rich Swann, and I actually look forward to the incoming program with Elgin, as this segment was pretty awesome and probably the best I've seen Elgin, as he was downright vicious. The final segment was very good too, and it's cool as hell to see a guy like Brian Cage give Tessa the nod, especially since she has referred to him as his big brother inside the ring, so it had to be special for the two of them. And of course, it leads to Sami putting her over. Loving what this company has been doing lately. I can't wait to next week's show, from the teaser it looks like so much fun. The fact they are running an actual MILF angle with Trey's "mom" cracks me up. Glad IMPACT is keeping the sleaze aspect of pro-wrestling intact.

Well, Corny's making much more sense than I thought he would, even offering some reasonable kind of apology. And he's not wrong piling on NWA's management either on this case, as they should have edited the stuff before airing it. Now let's wait until next week when someone tags him with the IMPACT cosplay (I can say it because it's a legit one) show including Sami Callihan dressed as James E. Cornette so he can lose his mind again. Or maybe understand that he should not take things so seriously after all. Dunno...

Thanks. Legendary indeed !

Well, the whole "Uncle Tom" was neither here nor there. Maybe if he had called Lethal a sexual harasser it would have gotten more traction or sympathy, but it had nothing to do with the issue at hand. But yeah, anyway, I wish there would be a genuine MeToo moment in pro-wrestling where a bunch of women would collectively speak up against whoever, no matter how powerful they are, so things can get shaken up a bit. Probably won't happen. When a former Diva who had talked about being raped commits suicide and the collective reaction is apathy, it doesn't look too good.

Ooookay. That's pretty funny. Is that a young Kevin Nealon next to Sanders ? Nealon is legendary to me as a Weeds fan.

Between this and the Cornette case (about which he did a tremendous job explaining the whole thing, including how the MX were basically the Young Bucks to the older generation back then, how what Corny said is not defendable and was not either in other eras despite people not batting an eye then but also how something like Randy Orton using racial slur on Twitch totally got a pass for some reason), poor Meltz, having to deal with a sea of idiots.

Sean Oliver's Kayfabe Podcast
El-P replied to The Thread Killer's topic in Publications and Podcasts
The Johnny Candido episode was interesting. Tammy comes off like a horrible person though. I did enjoy the Raven one too since I'm a Raven fan. I wish the guy would make some cameos in IMPACT or AEW again. Gonna listen to the Terri Runnels one too, she's someone you don't hear that much abou (the shoot interview she did years ago was excellent). Sean really is still clearly not sure what he wants to do I think, but at least he seems to have some different guests at times. -
Not really. Well, I'm a French teacher, so I'm used to it. [ΓΈ] is not an easy sound to pronounce for English speaking people. I kinda get a kick out of JR trying to say it and failing badly everytime. The way Jericho pronounced "celebration", with only the last part of the word sounding French, was quite funny. No idea where that idea comes from. I guess it makes him obnoxious.
-
Count me in for not giving a fuck what Corny is gonna say in his podcast. Who cares ? He has worked himself into a corner. Tough shit.
-
There really hasn't been a major MeToo moment in pro-wrestling. Still waiting for it to happen and feel the cracks all over. Thus far, it seems every occurence is kinda smothered or not cleared up at all.

Honestly, lights going off at the end of a Joey Janela match on Dynamite, lights go on and you have Jim Cornette in the ring bashing Janela in the head with his racket like it's ECW 97 would be such an awesome angle. Such a waste...
-
Grammatically absolutely correct. Doesn't mean shit but quite funny. I want Shanna back on TV and have her cut promos in French.

Ah ah ! Ouais, certe. On verra. (people are gonna get so confused...) Sear Center is their home base, so I can't wait. Should be the best episode yet if they play their cards right. I'm almost where I could believe Scorpio winning the title in a Lex Luger moment (although it should probably not happen, because short titles wins rarely help a young guy, while Luger was already bulletproof and over as fuck in 97).
