  1. I'm somewhat infrequent here but I've never seen any reason for anyone to dislike you or ignore you. Just post about Memphis or Negro Casas or now 1979 All-Star Wrestling and I'll respond I promise.
  2. What if Reigns wins tonight or in Saudi Arabia? Otherwise I agree.
  3. Hey everyone. A lot of you know me. Well I did it, I went and started a podcast. I'm doing it with my best buddy, the idea is I'm the super hardcore fan and he brings more of the casual fan perspective. We're going to have a lot of fun with it but this first one is just a Mania preview, nice and simple. If you like it, feel free to tweet about us or follow @seanandalpod. Thanks! https://seanandal.fireside.fm/1
  4. I just watched that tag match and thought it was very good! Those guys going for 25 minutes was a sketchy proposition but I thought it was really smartly worked, good stuff. Thanks for the info!
  5. What's the Atlantic City TV show from 79 that Wrestling Collector has on YouTube? What was that for? It has a red ring and Gorilla announcing.
  6. My favorite wrestling stuff ever is ECW and Memphis. So we start with Dudleys/Dreamer and then a Lawler/Hart handshake. Trenendous.
  7. Dave has said the post-Mania plan is an extended program with Joe which sounds awesome to me. I was such a Joe fan circa 04-06, to see him after all these years be half of the top feud in WWE, still crazy to me.
  8. I find it interesting that Vince at 72 is willing to think so outside of the box. Credit to him.
  9. That's really interesting, I didn't know they were selling out the Garden every month which such a bad time slot. Maybe explains why they announced the next show's entire card every month, in case people didn't see the TV.
  10. Kind of turning this into a general WWF territory thread - but at the MSG show Finkel said people could see WWF TV on Saturdays and Tuesday's at 11pm. They had all this success while having an ECW-type local time slot in NYC?
  11. By God I've turned into a Cody Rhodes fan.
  12. I don't know how long they're going to be on this "grab cool stuff from the archives" kick but I hope they stick with it.
  13. Wait wait wait. I waste as much time on the internet as I do and I'm just learning about this? Where have I gone wrong? This sounds epic!
  14. 10/79 MSG has Vince interviewing Andy Kaufman and Kaufman doing his heel man vs woman gimmick. So great, so perfect for Memphis, I didn't realize he did it for so long before the Lawler feud. Vince playing the role of Lance Russell in responding to Kaufman's antics is a treat.
  15. It's not Memphis. But if you can learn to love Vince and Bruno and let them get you through some of the tougher stuff, there's some great gems. Also I love weekly territorial TV in general. Also it really helps if you have access to the Spectrum and MSG shows of the time to see their versions of PPVs that were the lifeblood of the whole operation.
  16. And the great thing is, unlike every other territory, there isn't some sad period where everything fell apart and they went out of business. I'm super pumped for Mania and a post-Mania scene of Roman-Joe and DB headlining SD. Of course 75-83 is a much different product, a classic territory.
  17. We have our 1979 WWF TV MOTY from what I've seen - Putski/Tito vs Valiants on 10/13/79. Super fun sprint tag match with great heat, like a great Memphis TV expiration of time match in a bigger venue with a better atmosphere. I can't believe I've fallen in love with the New York territory, I always just accepted all the bad things I heard about it.

  23. By God the archive guys can't be stopped at this point.

    NXT talk

This is a "pop the territory" caliber feud, best NXT creative since 2015.
  25. Vince/Blassie interviews are becoming my favorite thing this side of Russell/Hart. Vince so appalled at Swede Hanson doing moves targeting the neck. Why can't he be doing armbars or figure four leg locks? Because Blassie wants the opponents crippled!
