  1. Oh my god, Vince interviewing Blassie on 9/22/79 at around the 16 minute mark. Outside of Memphis, it just doesn't get better than this. Anyone who is a fan of WWE or the Mr. McMahon character needs to watch this. I can't believe I'm enjoying Vince this much but I guess it makes sense that the biggest figure in wrestling history was able to be a fun territorial announcer.
  2. So why did Bruno go pretty much silent on commentary by the time you're watching 86 Superstars? I think he's great here. Was he fighting with Vince? Didnt like all the gimmicks? Didn't like Jesse?
  3. Albano was on TV as late as the mid 90s with the Headshrinkers right.
  4. Shoot, that's an obvious Mania 35 match isn't it? If Angle holds up that long?
  5. Heyman's interview on the Observer site when Lou died was amazing. Heyman must have so many stories that we'll probably never hear. But based on the interview, man, Lou was nuts, I can see a falling out happening.
  6. The Valiants were just workhorses for this company at this point, weren't they? All over TV and house shows. I always love Vince interviewing them and Lou.

  8. I mean isn't Cena perfect? Just as a callback to one of the greatest angles they've done in however long, this time it really is his retirement speech. Or is it and he's going to beat up Cena again at the end.
  9. I just watched Hickerson/Spoiler-Gilbert/Rich from 84 and God is that just my favorite style of wrestling ever from my favorite promotion ever, could not have loved it more. I love everything about Phil Hickerson.
  10. Everything is clicking for WWE in a way I haven't felt since, I dunno, maybe Mania 23?
  11. If i hear people talking about wanting 2000 Thunders, with all the great wrestling out there to be discovered, both present and past...
  12. Guys, this stuff is fun and interesting and there hasn't been an overwhelming amount of activity on the main forum lately, why in god's name would someone put that much work into a list just to troll. If it's trolling I say bravo, keep trolling.

  14. Guy is offering fun unique posts why are we jumping on him, we could use the fresh blood and energy here.
  15. So clearly I've become obsessed with this TV show which is ridiculous but I can't help it. If they don't upload more - is there a lot of Championship Wrestling or All-Star Wrestling from 81-83 out there. You don't have to tell me where unless its super obscure, I can do my own research, just curious if it exists.
  16. There's just not enough hours in the day anymore, especially if you like the new stuff on top of the old stuff.
  17. This guy, lots of W*ING - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCn2ThJiM6OQiC1Le-WppomQ/videos
  18. Have you guys seen dai majin? Just put up some Universal comps with a bunch of new Negro Casas for me to go through.
  19. Here's a random question if anyone knows, as I watch this Backlund-Patterson series from 79. Was Patterson brought in with the idea being his one last run and then transitioning to a backstage role or how did that all work out with him eventually becoming Vince's #2.
  20. I just watched that Piper/Estrada match and thought it was a bunch of fun! Just below Sd Jones/Patterson and Dibiase/Travis-Scicluna/Coage in my 79 TV viewing so far.
  21. I had a hard time for a while with Cody being the face of alternative wrestling in this country, a position once held by guys like CM Punk Samoa Joe, and Bryan Danielson, who were forwarding the industry. But with the current landscape it makes sense. With HHH's current hiring practices, Joe, Punk and Bryan would have been headlining NXT by 2004 and be given big pushes in WWE by 2005. So a guy like Cody who doesn't want to be in WWE makes sense to invest in.
  22. You're really getting me excited at the idea of doing this myself. I mean, it's not Memphis TV for sure, you have to love Vince and Bruno for some of this stuff. But to my knowledge, this is the first time we've had the chance to really understand the experience of a territory fan, with complete weekly TV and then seeing what was happening at the big arena shows.
  23. I'm watching everything so will do.
  24. I mean Vince is breaking down with Bruno whether it's smart strategy to work over someones fingers while holding them in an armbar. Bruno responding with how he prefers to go after the thumb and get leverage.
  25. I'm saying it a lot but I just can't believe how much fun I'm having with this stuff. I thought it would be the worst stuff ever and that Mid-Atlantic would be my obsession. Having the MSG and Spectrum shows to view the show in context as a viewer of the era is huge. And I can't get enough Vince and Bruno, my second favorite territory announcing with Lance and Dave of course in their own league. Like, I was just watching a July 79 MSG show where Valentine tries to grab a chair to hit Strongbow with, but a fan stops him, so Valentine starts nailing the guy with punches until a dozen cops jump in. And is Backlund/Patterson from MSG considered one of the best matches of the 70s? I thought it was amazing and Vince's call was peak JR big match caliber.
