Wagner comes out as a very aggressive rudo and takes the first fall. Atlantis with a good hope spot in the second fall before Wagner takes back over, I feel like you rarely see proper hope spots in modern CMLL.Atlantis with a spirited second fall comeback. Good sense of intensity all the way through so far. Third fall has some submission exchanges before going to highspots. Very good match, I think this would be viewed as a positive to both guys' reps.

Talk about it here.

I will watch every Casas match here, I'll make that vow. Casas and Santo make a great comeback after taking a beating. Charles is teasing dissension with his teammates. After another great Santo/Casas flurry, Charles just lays down and gives himself up to get pinned! I enjoy the modern product but I kind of miss the days of CMLL having some semblance of plot development. And then Charles finally just starts attacking his partners as we hit the home stretch. This was a great exhibition of Casas/Santo greatness and we get a new feud out of it, thumbs up.

Greatest Wrestling Promotion of all time?
Sean Liska replied to Microstatistics's topic in Pro Wrestling
I' think if we had complete WMC TV and Mid-South Coliseum shows Memphis would run away with my vote. Although CMLL's 35 years of consistency in footage we have is something else. And WWE has had the highest highs. Can post more later. -
Keep pulling from those archives Network friends! Get to Georgia and Florida eventually!

Perception. UFC's biggest drawing cards are either in WWE or have gone crazy like Conor. Hey I'm reaching but I'm trying to figure out their main event booking like everyone else.

What do you guys think of my conspiracy theory that Vince is intentionally building around Brock and Rousey to screw with UFC as they're both on the market for new TV deals?

Is Atlantis the most underrated historical figure in wrestling?
Sean Liska replied to Sean Liska's topic in Pro Wrestling
Maybe it's just a thing where CMLL doesn't get talked about much in the internet as we've discussed a lot. To me, the fact that he was in the main event last Friday night at Arena Mexico is this cool special thing, it's like if Hogan was still headlining MSG, if Misawa was still headlining at Budokan, if Flair was headlining at the Greensboro Coliseum, and they were still popular and solid in the ring and just a few years ago drew the biggest gate ever for their company. -
I love the guy's posts. He brings interesting opinions about super obscure stuff. He generally gets picked on a lot more then he trolls anyone. I'm more baffled that a group of adults can't come together and have discussions about a shared interest without things devolving into insults and bans and everything but that's the fun of the internet I guess.

I'm not great at breaking down CMLL main event trios from this era because even though I enjoy them, they are fairly formulaic compared to the mid-90's when you weren't as sure about what you were going to get. But this was a typical fun match from these guys and the big angle after was Satanico coming out to attack the rudos. Very excited to see some fired up tecnico Satanico on this set.

Is Atlantis the most underrated historical figure in wrestling?

That's a very good one, he was a titan of the industry for decades and we tend to think of him as the guy putting on a TV show in an empty pink room or whatever that was. -

Episode 3 has me just pumped out of my mind about what SDL TV could produce in 2018. I mean, Samoa Joe vs Daniel Bryan is a realistic SD SummerSlam main event possibility. What a world we're living in. https://seanandal.fireside.fm/3 -
I'm not a lucha expert but I enjoy watching CMLL. And I was just watching and thinking about how you never really hear anyone talk about Atlantis as one of the true legends of the business. I know he's in the WON HOF and is very well-regarded, but to me he still doesn't seem to be talked about with enough reverence. Help educate me here if I'm wrong anywhere here. He's been a consistent main event guy for a major promotion for 35 years, headlining who knows how many shows that drew well. He was a spectacular flyer in his youth, I think would be considered a great wrestler at his peak, and to me is still enjoyable in his 50's. And to cap it, I know for sure he headlined the biggest money show in lucha history vs Ultimo Guerrero, and I think he might have the top 3 gates in lucha history to his credit, with the year they faked the Ultimo match and the match vs Sombra. To me he's like the Undertaker of lucha except a more consistent better wrestler and a better draw at his peak. Am I overrating him?

You guys need to watch some of the 79 All-Star Wrestling on the Network that I've come to love almost entirely because of the Vince/Bruno commentary team. They're shockingly awesome together, they can take the most boring squash match and break it down into something interesting, it's actually made me have even more respect for Vince as a wrestling guy to know he does have this totally old-school part of him that he tries to hide with the sports entertainment stuff and verbiage. Watch the 7/14/79 episode, it's actually a really good one. Patterson does a miracle carry job with SD Jones and there's also a Dibiase-Jimmy Valiant match.

Aw man this TV made me fall in love with Vince and Bruno as the 2nd best announce team ever and now we lost Bruno. What a man and what a life he lived.

Bobby Duncun was a better promo than I ever knew.
