If only we didn't have to wait til June 1984 for Nikita Koloff.
-
That's an awesome idea, but wouldn't it have to be a 10-man tag at this point since Super Russian has been revealed? Or we put another guy under the mask leading to another big twist. Let's do it Grimmas.
-
I'd assume that he still wouldn't be available though because he wasn't actually involved with any major promotions for years. Like Shane Douglas debuted in 1982 as well, but that probably just means Dominic Denucci shows.

Thanks. Just don't want everyone to get too excited yet. Unlike current wrestling, a lot of these foreshadowing moments will be paid off, but not for months (and sometimes months and months and months) to come.

I like it. So the undrafted guys would be available for free agency, but no one from the October list would be available for this unless they too remain underrated and so on. Would add some more interest for some since there's a better chance of some diamonds in the rough after swaps are made.

Guess I missed the last update because just noticed how amazing those promos are. The Dory one in particular is awesome.

Promotions: Real hard to narrow it down to 5, but.... 1. GCW - Very narrow decision between the top 2. Both are so well laid out, it's always a treat to see them updated. GCW's TV is a bit more organized, but WWF's big shows feel more like events. Both have stacked rosters, either due to great drafting or good trades. 2. WWF 3. WCCW - Less posts them some others, but Jesse's match write-ups are so great. Feels like an alternate universe WCCW more than some others version of their promotion. 4. Montreal - Stands out due to dawho5 focusing on tag teams and really digging into the playground that is Montreal 5. Mid-South - Could be higher very shortly, but only been around for a month. Super impressed with how LowBlow's been able to catchup and create an intriguing world of feuds. Jumped up over honorable mentions due to his latest show being Mid-South's best one yet. Honorable Mentions - AWA, Southeast, MLW in no particular order Also a bunch that are really fun to read, but haven't posted much like Florida and WWC. There are seriously no promotions that are lacking, everyone is doing really good. Heels: 1. Nick Bockwinkel/Bobby Heenan - Turning 1983 WWF into something special 2. Jake Roberts - The 1983 Stone Cold 3. Dutch Mantell - Very easily can go higher in the next month due to the Armstrong angle happening at the moment 4. Greg Valentine - I broke Wahoo's Leg is about to ramp up 5. Terry Funk - Fuck real-life retirement, the cornerstone for so many of us. Honorable Mentions - Ted Dibiase, Sgt. Slaughter, Goldie Rogers, Jesse Ventura, Buddy Landell Faces: 1. Junkyard Dog - Comes off as a real superstar 2. Chavo Guerrero - Surprising battle for NWA gold has been a treat 3. Ricky Steamboat - Leading WWF into a new more athletically focused type of promotion 4. Wahoo McDaniel - Especially coming off the latest big show. 5. The Road Warriors - vs. AWA is gonna garner sympathy for these guys Honorable mentions are Randy Savage, Tito Santana, Jerry Lawler, Rick Martel, Hulk Hogan Feuds: 1. Roberts/Adonis/Mosca vs. Gentlemen's Club 2. Backlund vs. Heenan/Bockwinkel 3. Bob Armstrong vs. Dutch Mantell 4. Road Warriors vs. the AWA locker room 5. Martel vs. NJPW Honorable mentions are Lanny vs. Savage, Dibiase vs. JYD, Valentine vs. Wahoo Matches: 1. Central States - Harley Race vs. Ric Flair - 7/4 2. Koloff/Super Russian vs. Wahoo/Smirnoff 3. Bockwinkel vs. Heenan 4. Funk vs. Bret Hart 5. Koko B Ware vs. Bruiser Brody Honorable Mention - Will's Japan Writeups, Chavo vs. Race

Tuesday August 30th 1983 MACW Live from Memorial Auditorium in Greenville, South Carolina Brad Rheingans defeated Tony Zane in 6:35 with a bridging cradle suplex. Scott Casey defeated The Tonga Kid in 9:23 with a rollup holding the tights. The Vachons (Mad Dog & Butcher) & Krusher Kruschev defeated Billy Two Eagles, Joe Lightfoot, & Chief Jay Strongbow in 4:05 when Mad Dog pinned Lightfoot with a triple spike piledriver. NWA UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP The Iron Sheik defeated "Dr. D" Dave Schultz © by DQ in 11:10 when Schultz tossed Sheik over the top rope. Schultz continued to brawl with Sheik outside after the match, sending Sheik flying over the timekeeper's table into the crowd. NON-TITLE Hector Guerrero & Terry Taylor defeated NWA World Tag Team Champions The Russians (Volkoff & Markoff) in 13:35 when Taylor pinned Markoff with a flying forearm following a Guerrero top-rope dropkick. MAIN EVENT Michael Hayes defeated Ric Flair in 19:45 by reversing a small package. Post-match Flair teased a revenge attack, but ended up shaking Hayes' hand and grabbing the mic. He put Hayes over as a future NWA World Champion, but told him he'd have to get in line behind Flair, because one big victory does not solely make a champion and that he'd see him in the ring again down the line.

I was waiting to say this until you replied but more impressive that its all new to you.

Another fun show dawho5. This is consistently one of the better promotions in this thing. I can't say enough about how much I love that there's a fed here that is so tag team focused. And you actually made me look up Goldie Rogers after reading this because while I had heard of him somewhat, his portrayal here is a star waiting to happen. Are you someone who grew up with Montreal or is this all new to you?

Got worried Greg was gonna be Jake's opponent on the Anniversary show there for a second. I still think he'd be a pretty decent Blanchard-like heel. Sawyer, Destroyer, Oliver, and Gagne is an improvement on the inaugural Gentlemen's Club roster. Like the dynamic. I hope Weingeroff gets some revenge. He's been used really well so far in GCW. -
Great Dibiase-Funk writeup. Really like how the tag title change and rematch signing played out. JYD and The Sheik is a great use of continuity with the blinding, but still introducing a hot new feud. Obviously love the Houston lineup.
-
Very intrigued by who will be Race's next challenger. You've built up a couple of names into big players so it'll be fun to see how the next months play out.
-
I love that you're doing Premium Action. Those would be the shows that collectors today would be trying to get ahold of. The Evil Machine! From the factories of Japan! Love that.
-
Whoa, great stuff with the introduction of Scott Armstrong. I am heavily intrigued to see the next step. Reminiscent of when Jeff Jarrett was debuting.
-
As of now the order in the first post of this thread is the order for October. It's subject to change since a bunch of people haven't passed yet. I'm not going to officially close this draft until September 1st. Then any undrafted guys will move over to October.

Tonga Kid defeated Bob Bradley in 8:01 with a flying crossbody press. Scott Casey defeated Brad Rheingans in 12:41 with a bulldog. NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Hector Guerrero & Terry Taylor defeated The Russians © (Markoff & Kruschev) by DQ in 13:13 when Kruschev hit Taylor with a chair as he ran the ropes to set up his flying forearm. Buddy Roberts defeated Butcher Vachon in 11:04 with a DDT. NWA United States Champion David Schultz & Michael Hayes defeated The Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff in 21:20 when Schultz pinned Volkoff with a flying corkscrew elbow. Yeah, I place a priority on posting over reading, but I try to do a weekly roundup of responses like most of you all. I try to stay in a routine of posting daily, but especially with TV, it's hard to get little feedback immediately after and stay motivated. That said, I can't get annoyed even because I know it can be time consuming to read so many promotions' TV.
-
Thanks Dawho5! Appreciate you reading and giving feedback.
-
It's all dumb since NWA members are working with non-NWA members all the time here. What's really annoying me is your inability to show any understanding about why any of us would be mad at your actions. Is it really that hard to be like "Yeah, I've made some bad decisions and I can see why the way I interact with other promotions may be upsetting to you"? How you can justify trashing deals long after the fact confounds me.
