I believe that they didn't want to job Hogan at MSG because of the Andre match at Shea Stadium which makes a ton of sense. I wrote it weird, but I mean while Hogan was champion later on. He's only on like 4-5 MSG cards per year for a while.

Not on-subject, but can anyone say why Hogan didn't wrestle at MSG as often as Backlund while champion? It seems like at most, he'd be at every other show. Was it to keep novelty up?

That's right, I've gotta get on that Bruno-Larry stuff. Slaughter sounds amazing during this period too. I also find it fascinating concerning who Vince brings in month after month. Senior was cherry picking the best non-Flair/Steamboat names to come in for the title. Every 10 minutes I'd be like "what the hell, Adrian Adonis? Bob Orton? Greg Valentine?" Also, I think I did listen to part of a Titans episode way back when and enjoyed, but got side tracked and never went back. After this, I'm absolutely going back and listening from the beginning. Very interested in hearing more of this type of stuff.

I think in general no one should feel pressured to do much more than TV and big shows, especially if it helps keep their interest level high. And to anyone falling behind, remember all you need to do at the moment is a cliff notes results post with the option of filling in more detail later.

Great show. Held off on listening for a while because of low interest in the topic, but like always I found it fascinating. I wish the TV was better at the time, because these feuds and challengers sound awesome. I'm just not a big fan for matches for matches sake. Need storytelling and angles, that type of stuff involved.

Wow, that blows my mind. I should really try and attend one of these NXT shows eventually if they come near New England.

What will Harley be doing? Same question to you Grimmas. The purpose of these dates is to get over the idea of the NWA World Champion over to the crowd in order to build for the 12/27 Meadowlands title vs. title match down the line. Harley will likely defend against people like Bob Backlund and Billy Robinson on the big shows and against Mil Mascaras on the smaller ones. Sounds good, thanks.

With all the footage Will has gone through and the podcasts he's recorded, it's real interesting to see him write out imaginary matches. Top notch.

Excited to see Harley interacting with these guys and interested to see what big matches will be coming up with the champ in town. Jake Roberts is such a stud here, the most interesting person in the room. That latest TV ending would have been bonkers live.

I know I'm not suppose to praise non-NWA affiliated wrestling, but this so fun to read. Savage, Garvin, Andersons, Ratamyus, Pez Whatley, all outstanding stuff.

It's amazing how great this TV is, using a very close approximation of guys who were around (or could have been around) Southwest at this time. Very good territorial-like TV.

Do a Fave Five lesser halves of long-term tag teams. Not only do you share rankings, but you each may have differing opinions on who the lesser half of a team is. Example would be Will ranking Stevie Ray 3rd and Justin being shocked that Will thinks Stevie Ray is the weak link of Harlem Heat.

Harley Race is currently the champion. Ric Flair will become champion next, most likely in November. Keep that in mind when booking. WWA has every non-booked Harley Race date and has the option of at least 1/3 of the dates per month. Same with JCP when Flair is champion. Also until WWA weighs in, ALL NON-JAPAN DATES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. Want to make sure he has Race for important TV and big shows when necessary. The champion is NOT to lose by pinfall or submission, even in a non-title or tag-team match without prior permission. If Matt had committed to Portland, it sounds like we jumped the gun. It sounds promising that he has angles planned out for the beginning, but let's see how Wahoo feels. If he also has completely changed his plans because he thought he was getting Portland, then it's a toss up.

Right now Greg Valentine is the NWA US Champion. Under JCP banner, but wrestling for MLW at the moment.

I think Jesse was at the F4W Convention/UFC 189 based on Facebook posts. Ugh on that draft placement. Good news is won't have to change any booking plans based on incoming talent.
