there is no doubt in my mind that Vince listened more to the crowds in the 80s and 90s (especially here) but don't forget there were less revenue streams then than there are now. He has a bulk of data to look at currently that he didn't have 20/30 years ago. So it kinda makes sense he would listen less today. Still frustrating as a fan though

Listening to the interview I think it's obvious now why Bryan was booked like he was last fall and the beginning of this year. We have the answers now without them being directly touched upon . I think Vince has gotten on board with him to a degree though. And yeah it's anecdotal but the fact that he was pissed off so much at the crowd at the UK tapings shows he still listens to a degree. Of course in all this could be a case of cognitive dissonance where Vince really does believe he is listening to the fans all the time

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3

Rodger Kent died at age 90. He certainly wasn't a great announcer but his screams, exclamations and grunts during basic pro wrestling acts always got a chuckle out of me -
from the way they kept hammering home last night that Cena is the only one who can bring the Authority back that certainly looks to be the direction they are going. We are in for another John Cena "moral dilemma" aren't we? Like he has to bring Hunter and Steph back in order to get his title shot or save someone's job. It's probably going to be very lame

Axel is pretty much well liked by everyone backstage so he's not really alone there. He just has zero charisma -
Cena and the Bellas both mentioned the editing of the promo on Twitter so I guess they are making an angle out of it. Maybe

Alvarez says Hunter and Steph are livid at Punk going as far to say Hunter wants to "kill him" How much do they want to reverse the SS stips now? It wouldn't surprise me if they did somehow -
so Nikki Bella's promo on AJ was clearly heavily edited on SD. Probably 30 seconds of it at most made air. Great timing there.

Ryback thing is weird. I could have sworn it was reported they were friends and travel partners and wanted to work together. I'm talking about the spring/summer 2013 program. The way he was talking it was like a green rookie that was forced upon him -

Another big thing I took from this is the reluctance of talent to turn heel due to loss of merch income. It's probably a reason why the workers are afraid to go full throttle as heels and get genuine boos -

Holy shit. Pretty much backs up what we thought all along. Vince never saw Punk as a draw. Vince constantly bringing that up to him. Hates Hunter with a passion. Maybe I'm wrong here but I thought the report was he was close with Ryback. That they requested to work with each other? Not anymore I guess. And pretty much confirms wwe had no intentions of pushing Bryan at all. I'm convinced that Vince is completely out of touch here but I don't know if Hunter is this bad All the medical stuff is just wow -
I would gather that one of the reasons for the Authority angle was that Steph has the Eisenhower Fellowship deal coming up and it involves extensive overseas travel and numerous training programs (weeks and weeks worth). In fact Id bet anything this was the reason the angle was done. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eisenhower_Fellowships

Yes but we aren't supposed to remember that

I liked how the entire crowd groaned at the return of the anonymous GM. I actually think they wanted that reaction
-
I know I'm probably in the minority but I think Bryan is perfectly fine on the mic. But that segment was way too long

Hunter and Stephanie will kick off Raw with a "farewell to the authority" address
-
Meltz says no new authority figure will be named tonight and the plan is not to bring a new one in at all. Yep we are getting status quo aren't we?

Always heard John Studd was just a great guy. Incredibly nice. In fact Bobby Heenan said he was almost too nice to be in the wrestling business

the Law update today features an item that the company has already come up with a way to book themselves out of the main event stip but are unsure if they will go on with the plan. Lame. Expected but lame

Steph did a promo last week making fun of Show constantly turning heel and face in his career and less than a week later he turns again. Pro wrestling

so the programs going forward seem to be: Cena v Show (a one off hopefully) at TLC where Cena goes over to build him up for Brock at Rumble Wyatt/Ambrose obviously continues Rollins/Orton- this one is kinda tricky because they want Reigns to get revenge on Rollins but Orton is just turning so who do you put over? Brie/Aj if Aj hasn't been written off Ryback/Rusev? oh and Harper/Rowan if Hunter and Steph are gone it does make it easier for them to bring back Reigns and even Bryan with not having to explain why they would even want them back
