The more time goes by I think the 2013-2016 Authority run did so much long term damage to the product. I can remember it being a constant debate here with some saying it was no big deal but I really think that angle was incredibly damaging also I think Roman feuding with the League of Nations post Vince did damage as well. Everyone saw that group as cannon fodder that were there to simply make Roman look good

As for Piper, I thought the build to Starrcade 96 was fine. Actively good at some points. Everything after is pretty terrible. I can remember the Piper/Flair feud in summer of 97 being really bad. Only to be topped by being even worse two years later in 99.

How do we draw the line though on supernatural stuff happening and "unrealistic" wrestling style? I mean how can one be accepted and the latter abhorred. It's just picking and choosing also two years ago everyone hated the super natural stuff with Fiend and Seth but this is okay because Roman was involved? ( not everyone's take obviously but I've seen some)
