I think a lot of people here will get a kick out of this. A six year old trying to explain the main WWE angle going on right now.
-
Meltzer did. So did I until the week before where he got the upper hand on both shows
-
People have been complaining for 10 plus years about this stuff and for the first time I can really identify with them. Byan jobbing has been pissing me off for over a month now. I guess it didn't bother with people like RVD and their ilk because I didn't have an emotional connection (I know there has been debate over that term here recently) but it killed me when they did it with Bryan. Vince calling Summerslam a "swing and a miss" sealed his fate in retrospect

wanted to bump this because Stephanie has essentially done nothing since the Dusty Rhodes angle ended. That's almost three months ago. All she's done since is basically stand in the background with a shit eating grin on her face and sarcastically clap and feign "yes" chants. I'm sure she'll be doing more when Vince comes back but it's strange how she's almost disappeared from this whole angle after doing arguably the best work of her career. I'm sure being a mother has changed her perspective or maybe Dusty going off script in their segments dampened her enthusiasm

I actually got a kick out of that segment. Vickie was pretty great. I guess it was a shot at AJ but I thought it was pretty entertaining

A lot of VHS tapes were really expensive in the 80s. I think the movie studios priced them out of the market intentionally so they could make their money through the video rental stores. Correct; most VHS releases were "priced for rental." At $59.95 and later $39.95 they were actually pretty cheap, Hollywood movies were closer to $89.95. yep I can remember my cousin getting Back to the Future on VHS in I guess 86 or 87 and it cost like 90 dollars. Unreal

Jason Bateman was on Stern last year talking about the Valerie fiasco and the fire episode where she was killed off. Great stuff. As a kid I preferred Sandy Duncan to Harper. Basically the show became a Bateman vehicle as he was becoming a teen heart throb. Last few seasons are terrible though. well yeah they weren't on the level of Julie Strain or Julie K Smith (or Parent) Maybe like Lifetime movies with topless shots and simulated sex.

Raw Spoiler here: Looks like Ryback is going back babyface after Heyman blamed him for his loss at HITC. Either he's going back face or maybe they are through with him for all the supposed heat he has backstage. He also did a clean job for R Truth at the show

Steph and Hunter don't make international trips so Corporate Kane runs the show tonight. Ideally they would keep Kane in a non=physical role like last week. I think this character has potential if they don't turn him into a Dickensian like monster that switches back and forth

I've always found Ringwald's career rather fascinating. She was essentially done as a major player in Hollywood by her early 20s but her movies have been able to stand the test of time and kids today still love them. To be honest I don't think she was wildly talented or anything but she was able to to portray a certain vulnerability on screen that the younger demographic could attach to. She seemed to lose that by the time she hit 20 because..well she was becoming an adult. I have to say it was surreal to see her do softcore B movies in the early/mid 90s. I don't know the name of it but the one where she stalks the college baseball player and they have sex in a car on the middle of the baseball diamond pops right into my head. Must say I was rather surprised how good she looked naked.

I think we are supposed to think that Brie is the "weird" one. I would agree about them making people think Nikki was hotter but they did do the "Nikki thinks she's too fat" storyline. Analyzing all this stuff is really depressing -
for whatever reason the names that popped into my head right away were Van Hammer and John Nord

brief periods in 1989 and 1990. Second half of 89 I didn't watch hardly at all (except Summerslam)I don't think I watched much at all between WM 6 and Survivor Series 90(although again we did order Summerslam) I've basically been watching full time since then.

Business man Kane made me legitimately LOL. Needs the hat, sunglasses and gloves to be a modern Curtis Hughes

Nash mentioned that the boys used to call Doink "Krusty" backstage -

I love wwe.com http://www.wwe.com/classics/kevin-sullivan...dungeon-of-doom Kevin Sullivan goes over the history of the Dungeon of Doom and each individual member -
with Rob Lowe I don''t think it can be underestimated how much Wayne's World and Tommy Boy helped his career. He was becoming somewhat of a joke by that time due to the sex tape and some terrible script choices. They led to a career resurgence in comedy that he is still reaping today
-
yeah according to PWI Bryan Yes-locking Shawn was the blowoff to their mini storyline and Shawn is not scheduled to return any time soon
-
I was always slightly intrigued by Nash's marriage. In one of his shoots he hints at sleeping with Madusa while she was with the WWF and his wife being piss off about it. Interestingly when Nash got the book in WCW Madusa was instantly brought back to TV after nearly 2 years on the sideline and given a pretty enormous push. I can remember the Chae thing from the thread about Meltzer WCW quotes Another story is that Linda McMahon wanted Nash's wife to come to WM 11 in Hartford and Nash was dead set against it
-
According to Mike Johnson at PWI Bryan is not scheduled to be part of the title picture anytime soon and that the higher ups in the company believe he was elevated by the program. Seems to me he'll fall into the "Punk/Jericho spot" within the next 6 months to a year. I in no way think he has been buried but as I posted the night before the PPV he needed to go over in that match. I don't think he'll get the belt during "mania season" though probably going to have to wait till next spring/summer
-
The last two nights have been so depressing. I know I'm late to the party here but now I know how a lot of you feel while watching modern WWE
-
just an anecdotal note. I went to the WWE House Show on the 5th of this month in Albany and a woman was passing out flyers for an upcoming Bret Hart appearance in the area. I stood around for awhile and I'd have to say that at least half (and that's generous) of the fans that she approached had no idea who Bret was. But the last few times I've attended WWE Shows it still amazes me that the crowd is mostly filled with 10-12 year olds and their begrudging parents (in fact I sat next to a father/son tandem at the show who made me laugh quite often with their interactions)
-
I guess you can bottom line it and say that as a result of this angle Cody and Goldust are the most over they've ever been and you can probably make the same case for Show. That's about it
-
absolutely dead on

I usually try to stay even minded about this stuff but this fucking sucks. I mean I'm kind of ashamed of myself that I'll be 34 this week and I'm pissed off about a wrestling angle but whatever
