One thing I will say is that I haven't seen the match for a year and a half so i can't say definitively on this one. From what I remember and my write up it definitely bugged me at the time.

Will, you of all people would be the one I'd think would get frustrated when they went to comedy right following the awesome super heated punching that they'd been building to all match began. I wanted another couple of minutes of that instead.
  3. I thought The Mongolian Stomper was some sort of Stampede super draw, no?

Not a lot of time right now, but here's one. http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/18155-dick-murdoch/?view=findpost&p=5530450 It's a match worth watching but it is frustrating
  5. Isn't Angle in because he made a bunch of self-conscious carnies feel more legitimate?
  6. He was in my #s: 8, 10, 15, 19, 25, and 29 AWA matches. For what that's worth.

I have to revisit a lot of Austin from that era. I haven't seen a ton of 98-01 since it first happened and I really wasn't hotwired to appreciate brawls as a teenager.

Has anyone watched the RR Benoit match lately? That's something I was at live. It was universally loved at the time. Some of the 2001 Austin series were universally loved as well. This stuff probably needs to be revisited. The Cena debut match. Some of the Lesnar series for both guys. Smackdown six stuff. There's a decent amount that needs to be looked at, I guess. I'm not going to be doing it though, not unless people who aren't already praising him come back with pretty universal praise. I think people need to look at the Henry match from 2006 and see if it's bad as Meltzer thinks (and he fully blames Henry of course). Actually, I've never seen it. I need to look at that match and I will.

    Sting

Hey, I'm having fun at least. I can't speak for Parv, but this is probably what he lives for. I'm not going to push for Sting. Why? Because everytime I see his name the orchestral Crow Sting music comes into my head for an hour and I can't deal with that right now.

Is there a dumber wrestler out there when it comes to the art of pro wrestling? RVD was just high and apathetic. Sid had the general sense of what he was supposed to do. He just couldn't do it. Someone list me some names.

    Curt Hennig

Doink and Hennig had two inconclusive matches on Syndi shows to lead to the Raw match, if I'm not mistaken. It was for KOTR entry. The Yoko match late in the year is fun too. None of these are groundbreaking or anything but I do think they help his case more than hurt it.

The Doink match was part of a 3 part series. This is probably more fun though. We can post matches here right? http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xdk720_bret-hart-mr-perfect-vs-lex-luger-r_sport

What do you think about his 93? To me, that's easily the most interesting year of his post-AWA career.
  14. My only concern in this is that it might make us downplay individual wrestlers who were consistently great in tag teams.

    Ted DiBiase

    See, wasn't that fun, Parv?

    Undertaker

For many years, he did what he was supposed to, did it well, and had effective results in achieving what he was trying to do. There's something to that certainly. I think he also did it soundly for the most part. His matches are internally consistent. Some of them (vs Hogan, vs Berzerker, vs Yoko) can be pretty good, but maybe someone else could have found a far more interesting way to achieve the same results.
  17. I'm glad you liked that Can Am match. I think it's great. I'm not sure I've ever seen the Lanza tag. I need to track that down. I'm starting to see something of a pattern here, which is that you rank pretty highly Dory and Terry, as a tag, in Japan, but not everything else.

The Kennedy cage match is fucking terrible but I actually didn't mind their singles match on PPV the month before.

    Bob Orton Jr.

From what I've seen we just have bits and pieces of matches from his Mid-Atlantic run. He was in Poffo ICW right? Do we have anything meaningful from there?

    Psicosis

Well, yeah, no one beats Fuerza in character. He could try to get the ref to call a foul after a headlock. I was just happily surprised by Psicosis and his improvement through the AAA stuff I saw since I expected him just to be Rey's patsy. I am absolutely watching this tomorrow night though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3iw9SkOrSM

    Psicosis

I've seen very little of his early-mid 90s work but I came out of it wanting to see a ton more. I think "better character" sums it up which is why I'm drawn to him, but I haven't seen nearly enough. He seemed very versatile and to really stand out as something far more than just "The guy who took Rey's stuff." Is there Nicho stuff I should see, OJ?
  22. Vs. Lawler his rookie year. I think he has lots of good matches though, and even more good performances. I would be very, very surprised if he made my list though.
  23. I read that as memes not meanies. That's the world of the future.

    Ron Starr

I thought he did well as a face in Portland. Maybe Adonis' most effective partner?

    Felino

Incredibly agile when he was young. Incredibly gross now that he's old.
