  1. Twitter then Dave and others elaborated on the board. Dave: Yahoo seems to moving more generalised sports coverage after a shake up. The Raw review audio show was delayed 12 hours which was unDave like.
  2. Apparently Yahoo Sports laid off its entire MMA staff not sure if Dave is included. For his families sake I hope he stays on.
  3. His podcasts get uncomfortable for him these days too. Between encouraging drug use, discussing conspiracy theories, increasing Government controls etc and his mainstream business interests. I've heard him say some whacked out things even recently like Joe believes mushrooms could cure paedophilia as it would give paedophiles a level of self refection what would make them see the damage they cause to others. Rogan was kind of ahead of the curve on the threat of SOPA then when clamp happened he kind of had to drop it. One of his guests asked what UFC's stance was and he went silent. Another co-host had to chime in with that ALL media companies are against it. Similarly he cant really go after Murdoch/Fox News any more due to UFC on Fox.
  4. If you dont think I've body image issues after seeing Fassbender's penis in Shame with the other half today then you have another thing coming. Seriously I've been waiting for this topic to be covered by someone for a while now. However it is possibly too sprawling to cover in one podcast and probably deserves a sequel some day. Glad you mentioned the divas. Bix brought to my attention that Sharon wrote an amazing little article here about what they go through: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/910798-...-wwe-some-slack . I thought there is more to be said about WWE's merchandising to children from the 80s on of wrestlers being modelled as superheros (Superstars being the in house term of course). Like a lot of toys creating an unrealistic body image. I have to say I was somewhat shocked by neither of you bringing up the career story of Chris Masters on the podcast as obviously Dylan was on the ground floor in pointing out how much he was emerging as a worker and for Dylan's efforts got SO much shit and resistance for it as people thought a body builder guy could never be a work rate guy. In addition to Master's being probably the primary case study of how much wrestlers are legitimately head fucked by the WWE system and presentation philosophy. Cheers as always, lads.
  5. Just seen this watching Smackdown Poor Mark.
  6. Down all day for me. This and similar sites are handy for occasions like this: http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/
  7. You can question some of the Wrestling on the card but in terms of an effective build and hitting a crescendo storyline wise High Noon hit a real sweet spot for me as a fan in general. King of Trios was also a genuine EVENT too.
  8. As a known F4Wer I just want to counter this to a certain degree didn't the Rock just become "available" to use Hollywood lingo as he had an inch to scratch Wrestling wise and his mother Ata needled the hell out of him to step back in the ring? Going by the general impression I get is that simply Vince isn't getting the credit this time round for cutting a killer deal or pulling off a promotional master stroke the way he certainly did by doing the hair match with Trump.
  9. For what it is Stormfront is seriously huge and international. Id be strongly aware of the Irish subforum there. As I helped fundraise for the Róisín Dubh Foundation to get a statute of Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy in Dublin's City Centre. Anyway there was a lot of posts on there about attacking and doing things to the statue which ultimately did happen. The media also ran with quotes from there calling Phil who is super well accepted as part of the fabric of the City all of sorts of racial horrible names.
  10. Dont let Dylan see this post SERIOUSLY

  14. Someone didnt proof read the Smackdown spoilers:
  15. What would people classify as Rey Mysterio's peak?
  16. Tremendous work Ditch. Almost as good as the matches!
  17. They didnt do this for the full year but F4W started doing staff predictions on bigger MMA shows in 2011: Poor Bryan!
  18. Dylan as almost always you make a strong and convincing case. Maybe I am too much conditioned to like the workratey smaller heavyweights but Henry is more a peak One Man Gang than a Ric Flair type to me. Call it a mental block if you want. Feel free to hate me but I think Tanashi is the clear winner in the Wrestler of the Year category in my opinion. As a semi relevant point Mark has been a tremendous human interest story this year if you track back to his post draft/pre heel turn internet promo: so I do feel a bit of meany having him as my (current) runner up.
  19. Dylan I know that there has been a fair amount of contention over on DVDR both directly and indirectly towards you on a similar basis. Let it be said I greatly enjoy your podcast and I always make the time to read your thoughts on WWE TV. But Henry as Wrestler of the Year I dont completely buy. Yes his heel turn was a much needed post Draft triumph ratings wise, excellent promos and genuinely believable menacing heel but I simply dont give him high marks on the wrestling end. I get the whole great in his role/efficiency viewpoint but still I think he was pretty meh in ring to the degree it drags him down to runner up status.
  20. Not being funny but you need to listen with both earbuds in. Each guy is in each ear.
  21. Didnt Wade skip out on the show to go wake boarding or something?
  22. Can only imagine Christmas at the McMahon's with the stress of Linda's campaign, The Network, the Survivor Series number and the most recent Raw rating.
  23. From latest Observer: *goes to cry in the corner*
  24. Very strange day on here lol
