Jim Cornette says how Bob Armstrong is so upset that he can’t get back in the ring because of the injunction that he filed and that he can no longer fight his own fights, so for the Volunteer Slam he’s got one of the biggest stars in the history of professional wrestling to come to Knoxville and take on Bruiser Bedlam. They’re doing a little training around Knoxville today and Cornette wants Bob Armstrong and Randy Savage to see exactly what they’re up against. Bedlam bench presses 405lb as a ‘warm up’, before pressing 545lbs, drives nails through a board with his bare hands and breaks beer bottles over his head busting him open. This was very reminiscent of the old Jos Le Duc Memphis vignettes and despite all these feats and Cornette working overtime on the promo and claiming that Bedlam is the most dangerous wrester in the world, I’m really struggling to get into him.

The Rock & Roll Express are backstage and being congratulated by Bob Armstrong, Tracey Smothers, Lance Storm and Bobby Blaze. Bullet Bob congratulates them on winning one of the hardest fought matches he’s ever seen and he’s glad to have them representing Smoky Mountain Wrestling again as tag team champions. Ricky Morton says that throughout his career he’s never been involved in a match as tough and brutal as that one against Jim Cornette’s Heavenly Bodies and he’d like to thank everyone for never giving up on the Rock & Roll Express and supporting them in every town they went to each and every night. Once again they are the SMW tag team champions, but it never stops as there is a new tag team of Brian Lee & Chris Candido who are coming after these belts. The titles are not going to sit on the shelf though and they’ll defend them every night like the champions that they are. Brian Matthews is waiting to hear from Jim Cornette and the Heavenly Bodies as they’ve called an emergency meeting with the Board of Directors pleading their case about the ‘loser leaves town’ match that took place at the Bluegrass Brawl. Cornette and the Bodies exit the meeting with Jimmy Del Ray slamming the door and Cornette elbowing the wall (I don’t think it went well!). Tom Prichard says that they have been ripped off by the biggest rats in Smoky Mountain Wrestling, the Rock & Roll Express and Bob Armstrong. The Heavenly Bodies can no longer stay in SMW, it’s not right and is a conspiracy of the first degree. Cornette says he knew that coming over here to this meeting would be a waste of time, as Bob Armstrong and the Board of Directors have waited for this chance a long time and now they’ve got it. The decision will stand, the stipulation will stand and the Bodies are out of here. Everyone always asks him why he hates the Rock & Roll Express and why he’s been so obsessed with them? For ten long years, all across the country, in every major wrestling promotion, he’s done everything he can to send his teams after them and get them out of professional wrestling. He hates them because he’s devoted his life to this sport, he wanted to be the best, wanted to manage the best and every team he has managed has been the best. Dennis Condrey & Bobby Eaton, Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane, Stan Lane & Tom Prichard, Tom Prichard & Jimmy Del Ray, they’ve been the best, they’ve been without parallel, nobody can touch them, nobody can stop them, except the Rock & Roll Express. Every time that he got a team that was ready to take the top, the Rock & Rolls were there to take the titles, take the glory, take the attention, to make sure all the fans could come up to him and say your guys are pretty good but the Rock & Rolls are better. He’s done all he can to try and run Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson out of wrestling, they’ve had to endure it all and they never got that last measure of revenge, until now. The Bodies are finished in Smoky Mountain Wrestling and the decision stands. This isn’t the only place they can wrestle, this isn’t the only place they do wrestle, but it’s the only place that they wanted to wrestle because they dominated Smoky Mountain Wrestling, they established Smoky Mountain Wrestling and if it wasn’t for the Heavenly Bodies there wouldn’t be a Smoky Mountain Wrestling. Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson ruined that, they got their final revenge, after ten years this thing is over and they got what they wanted. Cornette swears that there will be another day, he doesn’t know where and doesn’t know when, but there will be another day between them and the Rock & Roll Express. For the time being you’ve seen the last of Tom Prichard and Jimmy Del Ray and he’s seriously thinking about going with them. Bob Seger’s ‘Famous Final Scene’ starts to play as the Bodies put on their jackets, hug Cornette, collect their bags and walk down the corridor. They take one final look back and then continue down that corridor and out of Smoky Mountain Wrestling. The whole presentation of this was awesome. From Cornette’s killer must see promo, to the Famous Final Scene, to the last look back and then walking down that corridor. I know they eventually come back, but thank you Heavenly Bodies, it won’t be the same without you.

[1994-04-09-SMW-TV] Down and Dirty: Daryl Van Horn & Prince Kharis
GSR replied to Loss's topic in April 1994
Daryl Van Horn says that Prince Kharis is finally getting his due and getting a SMW championship match with the Dirty White Boy. They’ve bought in more Nubian virgins and manservants to make sure the Prince is comfortable for the match. He says how the White Boy seems to think he can do the impossible, do what no-one else has done, and defeat Prince Kharis. Well he can’t be hurt and when he gets done with the Dirty White Boy he’ll be turning tricks for some chicken hawk on the streets of San Francisco, while the Dirty White Girl will go back to her old job as a primary testing subject for the Monstat Corporation. There are people who don’t believe that Prince Kharis is who he says he is, so for the non-believers and to prove he can’t be hurt, he cuts off Prince Kharis’ thumb and sand pours out! Tony Anthony joins them in the ring with the White Boy mocking Van Horn’s chanting. He tells him who does he think he’s trying to fool around here? Trying to get people to believe that this big piece of toilet paper is 3,000 years old. He’s not buying it and he specializes in big men so is not worried about him, before flicking Van Horn’s fez off his head. Kharis goes after the White Boy (rather comically), but he misses and the White Boy unloads with rights knocking him off his feet. Van Horn then throws some sand in the White Boy’s eyes temporarily blinding him. Kharis sits up like he’s the Undertaker, turns his arm and clobbers the Dirty White Boy with it. He then puts Anthony in the cobra clutch until Bobby Blaze, Tracey Smothers and Tim Horner make the save and rescue him. -
[1994-04-09-SMW-TV] Interview: Jim Cornette & Bruiser Bedlam
GSR replied to Loss's topic in April 1994
Jim Cornette is laughing as ‘The Bruiser’ is here! How did he find Bruiser Bedlam? Last August he was in Detroit, MI for Summerslam in his hotel room when the phone rang, he picked it up and a voice at the other end said ‘Jim Cornette, I want to become a wrestler. I’m big, bad, mean and tough and I like to beat people up’. He was a bit dismissive having heard that so often in the past, but the voice said that he’s in the lobby, just come on down and see what you think. He wanted a laugh so went down to the lobby, but when the door opened what was standing in front of him was as big as a house, strong as an ox and twice as smart. He went over and asked him his name to which he replied ‘Johnny Bedlam, but my friends call me Bruiser. All I like to do is beat people up and I want to do it for a living’. He kept him back, kept him in hiding waiting for the right moment and that right moment came when he needed to get rid of Bob Armstrong. The Bruiser says that he gets paid to beat them, he’s the baddest and he’ll fight anyone! Cornette is laughing and says that the word bedlam means chaos, pandemonium, a scene of wild mad uproar, and that’s exactly what this man causes ‘bedlam’. Remember the name Bruiser Bedlam because Bob Armstrong sure will. Bedlam looks like an absolute nut job, which it transpires he is, although it’s a shame there appears to be no sign of the Cornette - Armstrong feud going away just yet. If Cornette had him in hiding since Summerslam, why then didn’t he use him instead of the ‘secret weapon’ or why was he paying all this money for hired guns like Terry Funk and Dick Murdoch? There are usually very little holes in SMW booking and storylines, but this is just another example of this feud being tired, played out and beyond stale. -
This one is set to Bon Jovi's 'Sleep When I’m Dead’ with the video emphasising that Jericho is this party animal while Lance would rather be tucked up in his bed. Jericho especially comes across as a right irritant here. The two of them are about to have a beer when they remember the cameras are on them and get two milks instead! Jericho gets slapped by a woman, they get kicked out of a bar and Lance ends up falling asleep in another. Pretty funny overall although some of the acting left a lot to be desired.

Fulton was very good in the early days of Smoky Mountain teaming with Jackie in the lesser version of The Fantastics, and whilst not something to take into consideration for this, was a pretty great promo too. Chris Hamrick has just started to do enhancement work in my Smoky Mountain viewing and his bumps, be it seemingly almost breaking his neck with a head first fall over the top rope to the floor against Bruiser Bedlam, or missing the highest leg drop this side of Bull Nakano off the cage against Tracey Smothers, are the highlight of his squash matches.

[1994-04-02-SMW-TV] Rock & Roll Express vs Brian Lee & Chris Candido
GSR replied to Loss's topic in April 1994
Double dropkick to Candido and Ricky Morton covers him, but referee Mark Curtis is tied up with Lee and Robert Gibson. Fytch gets in the ring, but Morton sees her coming and starts kissing her, to which Dutch yells ‘that’s assault, that’s sexual battery!’ Candido picks up her purse which she had dropped and nails Morton in the back of the head leading to the three, giving himself and Primetime the surprise win. Good match and Candido worked great with the Rock & Rolls and it establishes the new number one contenders for post Bluegrass Brawl.- 7 replies

[1994-04-01-SMW-Bluegrass Brawl] Chris Candido vs Tracy Smothers (Ladder)
GSR replied to Loss's topic in April 1994
At least, unlike the TV match, the $2,500 is hung sufficiently high enough that they need a ladder to collect it! The ladder is bought into the ring early but isn’t used, as the two of them try to wear the other down before they attempt to climb it. Nice continuation from their Sunday Bloody Sunday match with Candido ducking out the way of a slingshot dropkick, only for Tracey to hit him with a baseball slide dropkick instead. A great pescado from Candido and with Smothers on the apron, he suplexes Candido from inside the ring on to the arena floor. Tracey starts to climb the ladder, but Candido with an electric chair. He starts to use the ladder as a weapon, hitting Smothers with it, throwing it on him, before driving it into his throat. It’s Candido’s turn to climb the ladder, but Tracey comes off the top with a double ax handle and Chris topples off it and over the top rope to the floor. Smothers blocks a Candido suplex attempt and suplexes him on the ladder, but then misses a splash attempt as Candido moves out the way and he lands flush on the ladder. Top rope frankensteiner by Candido, but when he tries it a second time Tracey blocks it and he crashes to the canvas and onto the ladder. Candido misses a splash from the second highest rung and Smothers drops the ladder on his and he gets his neck stuck between the rungs. Smothers with a Stinger splash, but Candido pulls the ladder in front of him and Tracey hits that. The two of them climb the ladder and trade punches at the top before the ladder gives way for real and Candido takes a very nasty looking bump. Tracey puts the ladder back up, Mark Curtis holds it steady and he climbs and retrieves the $2,500 cheque. Excellent match, so much so that I watched it back to back (something which I almost never do) and have watched it a third time since. The two of them put so much effort into this and worked so hard and played off previous matches between the two of them. The finish was a holy shit moment, and my gut is that it wasn’t planned and was an accident. I liked that the climbing was kept to a minimum and they weren’t reliant on using the ladder as a weapon, and the match was more about only climbing it when they thought their opponent was out of it and worn down enough. Candido looked exceptional here and took some crazy bumps (both planned and not!) and this could very well be a career high point for him (I enjoyed his TV match with Bobby Blaze, but this was on another level altogether).- 11 replies

Tammy Fytch is getting sick and tired of that filthy Dirty White Girl sleaze ball always saying she wants to fight. She’s not happy with the mixed matches, she now wants a singles match. Fytch tells her if she gets her little ugly butt out here she can have her singles match, she can have it one on one and she can have that singles match she wants. It doesn’t take long for the White Girl to join them and she’s ready to fight telling Fytch that she wants her right now. Tammy then says she thinks the White Girl may have misunderstood things, as she never said a singles match with ‘her’, at which point the White Girl gets attacked from behind by Peggy Lee Leather. Dutch says how he is fed up of people interrupting Down & Dirty so tries to break things up, but Peggy ends up body slamming him much to Bob Caudle’s amusement. Lee Leather continues to beat on the White Girl until the Dirty White Boy makes the save and Peggy backs off.
-
It was another example of Cornette not sticking to stipulations and swerving the audience. The Dirty's won. Fytch went under the ring followed by the White Girl and the White Girl came back out holding Tammy's clothes, so she wasn't stripped at all, or if she was, the audience certainly didn't see it.
-
The response to the previous Bob Armstrong interview. Bob Caudle tells Cornette how Bob Armstrong said his mother hasn’t got enough money to get rid of him. Cornette says it wouldn’t cost him 5 cents to get rid of Bob Armstrong because he knows a number of people that will do it for free, as he’s made a lot of enemies in pro wrestling with his John Wayne, Marshall Dillon, white knight in shining armour approach to things. He almost ran Smoky Mountain Wrestling one time before, got rid of him and thought it was for good but he rebounded back. He’s one shot left and Bullet Bob still doesn’t know who his mystery man is. He’s the most awesome find of his career, bigger than him, meaner than him and stronger than him. Then with Bob Armstrong and the Rock & Roll Express out of the way, nothing is going to stop him from running rough shot over SMW again.
-
Armstrong is presented with a trophy by Joe Pedicino and Boni Blackstone in recognition of his years of service as a goodwill ambassador for the city of Marietta. Back in the studio and he says that honour they’ve just seen him receive meant an awful lot to him, but he didn’t have long to enjoy it as all he hears out of Jim Cornette’s mouth is ‘I’m bringing the mystery man, if I can get rid of Bob Armstrong I can run Smoky Mountain Wrestling again’. Well the mystery to him is who is he going to get? So far he hasn’t got anyone to get the job done and as long as there is breath left in his body he’ll never get it done. Jim Cornette is nothing but a big sack of Scandinavian snake faeces and he’s the man that’s going to jump on him. He tells Cornette that his mother hasn’t got enough money to buy a mystery man who can get the job done and as long as he’s living he’ll stay Commissioner and Cornette will never have his way in Smoky Mountain, that’s a promise.

[1994-04-02-SMW-TV] Up Close and Personal: The Thrillseekers
GSR replied to Loss's topic in April 1994
A sit down interview talking with The Thrillseekers, but pretty boring over all. They make sure to mention that neither of them are married (even though, which as Pete already touched upon and Cornette has since said in interviews, Lance already was) and Jericho in particular specifies that he doesn’t have a type (gotta give these women hope!). -
Van Horn told everyone that Prince Kharis had finally gotten signed to a SMW Heavyweight title match and he’s sure it will tickle Bob Caudle’s prostate to know the man he will be facing will be the Dirty White Boy. Not only will this put the gold around Prince Kharis’ waist, but it will give him the opportunity to get a measure of revenge against him for what he did at Thanksgiving Thunder when he stepped in the ring to protect Tim Horner. They’ve added an opium den to the Prince’s chamber and have been watching snuff films all week to get him mentally prepared for this title match in April against the White Boy!

Dutch says that come the Bluegrass Brawl on 4/1 the world is watching, not only fans in Smoky Mountain Wrestling, but fans across the world. Before he talks to today’s guest he wants everyone to hear comments from some big time promoters across the wrestling world and also Jim Cornette and the Heavenly Bodies. First up we get an interview from Eddie Marlin and he doesn't really say much, but whichever team loses the ‘loser leaves town’ match is more than welcome to join them in the USWA. From Eddie we go to Vince McMahon AND VINCE MCMAHON IS ON SMW TV!!!! The World Wrestling Federation officials are heading to the Bluegrass Brawl after Wrestlemania. In the main event it’s the Heavenly Bodies against the Rock & Roll Express for the SMW tag team titles inside a cage and on top of that, the loser must leave the Smoky Mountain region. Smoky Mountain’s loss is going to be the World Wrestling Federation’s gain as they would welcome either team into the WWF, they would even welcome Jim Cornette himself! Surreal seeing Vince McMahon on SMW TV, although not sure why anyone would take a gig in the USWA over the WWF! Vince completely blows Marlin away when it comes to personality, charisma and aura here. Jim Cornette informs everyone that the Bodies won’t be seen live on television today for the simple reason that with the Rock & Rolls being the noted back jumpers and back fighters that they are, they’re afraid they might try to do something dastardly and evil before the Bluegrass Brawl to try and get an advantage. Del Ray says that the Rock & Rolls aren’t family so they are not as tight as he and his cousin are, and they’ve got one heck of a game plan waiting for them. Prichard says talking of family they had a nice conversation with Jim Cornette’s mother and they promised her that they won’t let him down, they won’t let her down and they have a special bonus heading their way when they defeat the Rock & Roll Express in Pikeville. They’re the SMW tag team champions and the greatest tag team that ever came down the pipe. The entire wrestling world is asking the question as to whether the Heavenly Bodies can finally put an end to the Rock & Roll Express, well the answer is yes, and Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson will take off their boots like the say they would and we’ll walk out the champions that we are. Cornette says that all the marbles are on the line in the ‘loser leaves town’ match and while they can go anywhere, the Rock & Roll Express say they’ll never wrestle again if they can’t be in Smoky Mountain Wrestling. April 1st will mark the end of ten years of his life, ten years of hatred, ten years of frustration, ten years that he’s chased them across the country trying to put an end to them and finally it’s going to happen, as they will be out of SMW and out of professional wrestling when they lose the match inside the cage at the Bluegradd Brawl. Back on Down & Dirty and Dutch is joined by the Rock & Roll Express. Ricky Morton says that he’s had so much on his mind these past few weeks that he’s hardly been able to sleep, so last night wrote a letter to explain how he feels and would like to read it to everyone. When he first came to Smoky Mountain Wrestling and reunited it seemed like that was all he ever wanted. He’s made mistakes in wrestling and in life itself and Robert could’ve said no and told him to get lost but he didn’t, and for that he’s grateful. When he walked back through that curtain with Robert he knew his place, but now they’re faced with the toughest match they’ve ever had and never has more been at stake. At the Bluegrass Brawl inside a cage the tag team titles are on the line, but most importantly, the losers have to leave Smoky Mountain Wrestling. He doesn’t know whether they will win or not, but if they do lose he would like to thank the fans for all the great times and support that they’ve given them and for making his time in SMW happy. He tells Gibson that he loves him like a brother and if they do lose his career is over, not only will he leave SMW, but he’ll never put on another pair of wrestling boots again. This feud has taken a lot out of them for the past ten years, from Texas to New York and everywhere in between, but now it’s come to a point where one of them is going to leave in a blaze of glory. He thinks that Robert and he have one good one left in them, but if he doesn’t get a chance to say goodbye, he’d like to say thank you and God bless. Gibson says that he knows they have one more good one left in them and the two of them hug. Awesome segment and Morton was exceptional here, getting all emotional and fighting back the tears as he was reading his letter. Gibson had the one line and nearly butchered that!

[1994-03-19-SMW-TV] Chris Candido vs Tracy Smothers (Ladder)
GSR replied to Loss's topic in March 1994
They’ve already got a ladder match signed for Bluegrass Brawl so not sure why they’re having this match on TV, especially as they could practically jump up to get the $2,500 as it was hung so low. They both climb the ladder and are fighting on top of it when Smothers gives Candido a face first suplex from up high to the canvas and then collects the $2,500 to be declared the winner. Candido attacks Tracey from behind after the match, steals the money and beats on him with the ladder. I didn't feel this match as others seemed to as it was only 'okay' to me. I still don’t understand the logic or purpose of having it on TV when Bluegrass Brawl is just over a week away, and I'll write more about that then, but thought the Bluegrass Brawl ladder match absolutely smoked this. -
[1994-03-19-SMW-TV] Down and Dirty: Tammy Fytch & Brian Lee
GSR replied to Loss's topic in March 1994
Tammy says that they have a mixed tag match coming up against the Dirty White Boy and the Dirty White Girl at Bluegrass Brawl. This isn’t a regular match though, it’s a ‘strip the clothes’ match and you can’t win by pinfall, submission or count out, the loser of the match will have their clothes stripped from their body. It’s going to be on April Fool’s Day, but they don’t plan on being the fools that are going to be stripped. She doesn’t care what they have to do but the Dirty White Boy and the Dirty White Girl are losing their clothes, there’s no doubt about it. Tammy then jokes about how all you’ve got to do is toss a $10 bill to the White Girl and she’ll take her clothes off anyway, so who knows what she’ll do for $20? The White Girl rushes out upset at the comments but Lee sees her coming and grabs hold of her. Fytch motions like she is going to rip her clothes off when out runs the Dirty White Boy. Despite Dutch’s best efforts to tell Lee that he’s got company and to watch out, he doesn’t see him and the White Boy drills him with a couple of rights before proceeding to rip Primetime’s shirt and trousers off leaving him in his pants. -
[1994-03-19-SMW-TV] Interview: Heavenly Bodies / Interview: Rock & Roll Express
GSR replied to Loss's topic in March 1994
The Bodies are all exhausted and struggling for air in the dressing room after defeating the Rock & Rolls in a marathon match, but Cornette claims they’ve proved one more time they can go an hour and not even feel it! They’ve proven they’re the better beating them in the marathon match and the same thing is going to happen inside a cage at Bleugrass Brawl, as finally after ten years, he’s going to rid himself and the world of his worst nemesis. Morton says everyone just saw a prime example of how Jim Cornette comes down to save his Heavenly Bodies (Cornette nailed Morton with the oxygen canister knocking him out and allowing the Bodies to get the winning fall), and while they may be the toughest team he’s ever managed, without his help they’re nothing much. At Bluegrass Brawl they’ll be in a cage and that means that Cornette can’t interfere. The only way to get back at him is to take away something he loves, and he loves the Heavenly Bodies in more than one way! This is the last go around for the Rock & Roll Express and they don’t plan to lose. By the by interview from these two. Nothing terrible, but nothing great either. -
Dutch says how the ‘marathon match’ at Golden Week ’94 between the Rock & Roll Express and the Heavenly Bodies is going to give us an indicator as to what shape the two teams are in leading up to the ‘loser leaves Smoky Mountain Wrestling’ match. He replays the footage from a few weeks back where Ricky Morton got badly busted open that led to this, followed by a dressing room interview following that match which is new, where a bloodied Morton says that the time has come and they want a match with the Heavenly Bodies where one of them has to go. Back on Down & Dirty and Dutch says that for ten years they’ve had Jim Cornette in their face and this is their big chance to get rid of him and the Heavenly Bodies and to get that monkey off their backs. Morton says that ever since he and Robert reunited, every major wrestling organisation in the world has called them wanting them to come and wrestle for them, but they’ve said no as they want to stay right her in SMW where all the fans stood behind them. Jim Cornette likes to humiliate people. He was born with a golden spoon in his mouth and doesn’t know what it’s like to work 14 hours a day and worry about putting food on the table. He likes to embarrass people; he did it to Robert’s mother, to his father and has done it to them on numerous occasions, that’s why they asked for this ‘loser leaves town’ match. It’s got to come to an end and if they’re not man enough to beat the Heavenly Bodies in this cage match, then they will sit down in the middle of the ring and take off their boots. They reunited right here in SMW and they will end it here, because if they don’t beat the Heavenly Bodies there will be no more Rock & Roll Express. Great studd from Morton here.
-
Cheers. After all the build up on the TV shows I was intrigued to see the Dirty White Boy & Dirty White Girl match against Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch. Highlights of the Bob Armstrong vs Bruiser Bedlam & Jim Cornette air on TV so they at least recorded that match too as well as the loser leaves town and ladder matches.
-
He wants all of these Smoky Mountain scumbags to get their tongues out of their grandmother’s mouth and stop felching the family dog! He has great news to share as after months of being screwed around by the SMW Board of Directors, he’s finally secured a Heavyweight title match for Prince Kharis against the Dirty White Boy. For months they tried to screw him around, but they obviously had him confused with the Dirty White Girl as he doesn’t bend over and grab his ankles for anyone. This is the culmination of months of hard work and he doesn’t care if it means he has to spend eternity in the place where the guy with the horns and pointed stick conducts his business, Prince Kharis will be the next SMW Heavyweight champion, you can bank on it!
-
The Dirty White Girl provides commentary for this match between Anthony and Rose and is terrible! Tammy Fytch and Brian Lee come out to confront her and the women get into an argument before Tammy tells Brian to get her. Lee holds her and Tammy rips open her blouse exposing the White Girl’s bra. The White Boy seeing what happens leaves the ring to come to her aid, but ends up being counted out and loses the match. The White Girl is such an awful talker that I don't know why they put her in this position, they should have just had her seconding the White Boy and then being attacked by Lee and Fytch like has happened in previous weeks. At least in interviews she has the White Boy to cut her promos for her and then can just pop in with a line or two (and even then she has a tendency to mess them up!). This could easily have passed for 1990 Memphis, and I'm sure I saw something very similar with the White Girl back then.
-
Jimmy Del Ray comes to ringside to support Prichard which leads to the Rock & Roll Express coming out to be in Tracey’s corner. Smothers climbs the ropes ready for the jawjacker and Cornette gets up on the apron. Mark Curtis and the Rock & Rolls go over to try and get him down, but the distraction allows Del Ray to push Smothers off the turnbuckle to the canvas. Curtis sensing Del Ray was up to something goes over to have words with him. Prichard sets up a DDT, but with Curtis distracted, the Rock & Rolls enter the ring and hit the double dropkick and Smothers covers the Doctor for the win. Decent match, but like a lot of these television main events it's just background for an angle or to further things for one of the major house shows.

Murdoch says that the telephone lines are burning and every day he’s getting a call from Mama Cornette giving him a few more dollars. He’s the nastiest, filthiest, dirtiest, slimiest, stinkiest individual you’ll ever know and he and Bob Armstrong both know what wrestling is all about; it’s not about 94 clotheslines, it’s about getting down in the mud, the blood and the beer. Armstrong made a mistake when he let Jim Cornette choose a partner of his choice for this match, he didn’t realise Dick Murdoch was available. Every time those hillbillies start cheering for him it just makes him want to whip him that little bit more because people in Texas know who their mothers and fathers are. Do you? He tells Mama Cornette to keep the telephone ringing and Jimmy can sleep well, relax and put his feet up as he will protect him and Bob Armstrong better get ready because he’s on his way. Bob Armstrong says that everyone is talking about Golden Week ’94 and it’s the biggest event Smoky Mountain Wrestling has promoted so far. It’s on everybody’s lips and he’s especially proud to talk about it with them because he’s directly involved. When he became Commissioner again they also came to an agreement that he can wrestle if he needs to. There is one thing he needs to do, and that’s to take care of Jim Cornette for everything that he put he and his good friend The Bullet through. Cornette is like the kid on the block who gets everybody else to fight and he just sits down and laughs. This time he’s got to do his own fighting but he still couldn’t do it by himself, and got Dick Murdoch to be his partner thinking The Bullet wouldn’t be able to get past Captain Redneck to get his hands on him. Well he’s prepared to take a beating from him just to get to Cornette and at Golden Week ’94 it’s time to return the favours, he always pays his debts and he owes Jim Cornette

Tammy is all excited as they’ve put together a training video of her and she’s going to be ready for the mixed tag match and they’re going to win. This is set to the Rocky theme tune and it starts off with Tammy running up and down some stairs but that’s as athletic as she gets! She’s sat on Brian while he does push ups, breaks a nail playing Basketball, gets tired of running up and down stairs so gets Brian to give her a piggyback instead. She goes for a jog whilst Candido drives a alongside in a car, but they change places and she drives whilst he runs after her. She gets on an exercise bike while Chris pushes the pedals for her, does sit ups whilst painting her toe nails, does weight curls while on the phone and leg exercises whilst watching TV and eating crisps (this was awesome) Tammy is very proud of herself although Bob Caudle can’t see why as that wasn’t much of a workout. He says that the Dirty White Girl has sent in a video and he wants Tammy and all the fans to see that. The White Girl is jogging, practising her punching and kicks (badly), pumping iron, working out in the ring and on her submissions with the Dirty White Boy while Donna Summer’s ‘She Works Hard For The Money’ plays over it. Back in the studio and Tammy’s in a state of shock seeing the White Girl training for their match. She asks Brian what are they going to do as the Dirty White Girl is there looking like Mike Tyson, lifting weights and boxing. Primetime tells her to quit whining, he’ll take care of it and before the match comes round he’ll think of something and take of the Dirty White Boy and Dirty White Girl. Tammy is almost in tears again and tells Brian not to yell at her. This whole segment was great.
