  1. He's hardly what I'd call a 'big star', like Loss was refering to.
  2. I listened to this over the weekend and Moolah doesn't half come across terribly. In addition to her sabotaging the proposed match at Wrestlemania IV, Kai talks about how all her money would go through Moolah. She talks about one instance where someone from the Office came to give Moolah the money for the girls transport for the week and they ended up going into another room to sort it out. Kai and one of the other girls then listened in to the conversation at the door and heard the office guy give Moolah $150 for each of the girl trans costs, and then said to the other girl lets see how much she gives us. Moolah ended up giving the girls just $50 each, and pocketed an additional ton from each of them so she got her $150, plus $300 that she'd took from the others. That was pretty much the last straw for Kai when it came to trusting Moolah, and she says to this day that she has no idea how much money she made for Wrestlemania I. She also says that she was reluctant to work Wrestlemania X for fear of seeing Moolah, and that she recommended Debbie Coombs to work with Blayze instead of her. There is also a story she tells of Moolah giving Jeanne Kirkland a stiff headbutt, then making a remark about how it shouldn't hurt 'her sort'. She also says that she had no idea about the double cross on Wendi Richter and if she did know prior to it taking place then she would have told Richter as she liked her. Despite Feinstein's efforts (first new interview I've seen from him in about a year and it's still the same old, same old questions 'you travelled with the Bulldogs then, Dynamite was a legendary ribber, what's the best rib you saw him pull?') I thought this was a good interview and especially if you're interested in the women's scene in the late 70s and 80s.

  4. The bonus section is from the first interview that he did with Feinstein in 2000. As Bix said, the Cornette/Heenan vol. 3 is where they take a tour of his collection commenting and talking about the various items.
  5. Do you have any info at all on the Vitor Belfort vs Joe Charles fight? I haven't watched that one in years but remember Belfort (who was blitzing everyone at the time) not throwing one punch the duration of the fight and it ended with him getting a submission victory (this after he had KO'd or TKO'd everyone else up to that point). Regarding Takada in Pride, I wouldn't be surprised if they were all worked one way or another.
  6. His best bet may be contacting Jeff Lynch. I've got some of Jeff's updates from 2002/3 and he has a copy of his match against Hideki Nishida from 4 November 2001, so probably has other stuff too. Unfortunately I don't have an up to date email address for Jeff, so if anyone else sees this hopefully they might be able to add his contact details.
  7. Thinking back now, it's pretty amazing how big it was over here and how quickly the popularity dropped (from memory it had plummeted by the start of 1993). I don't know what led to the drop, but I would guess that over-saturation may have been another factor. My first live event was a UK Rampage show in Birmingham in 1991, then I attended the European Rampage tour, the European Rampage Again tour and finally Summerslam (at which point I was 14) and all these events were well spread apart. There was another tour over here almost straight after Summerslam and me and my group of friends decided not to go purely because of how close it was after Summerslam and we just couldn't afford it. I'm guessing that we weren't the only ones who felt like this, and what at once was considered a treat or a pretty special night to see the WWF live, wasn't what it once was a year and a bit earlier. The magazine situation over here also changed rapidly. In the town where I lived in mid-92 you could get the WWF Magazine, the WCW Magazine, all the Apter mags (PWI, Sports Review Wrestling, Inside Wrestling, The Wrestler), Superstars of Wrestling (predecessor to Powerslam) and a bunch of others like Wrestling's Main Event, New Wave Wrestling and Wrestling Eye. Fast forward to the start of 1993 and you were just left with the WWF Magazine, PWI and a UK produced effort called Wrestling Big Shots (which I liked purely for the ridiculously detailed results section). Even Superstars of Wrestling had disappeared off the radar and didn't show up again until the Powerslam relaunch in August 1994.
  8. the black Flair robe is money. Think that the black robe looked better on Sherri Martel!

  10. Out of interest how much Ken Joyce have you seen? I've only ever seen the match with Tony Costas from 1/9/80 and really enjoyed that to the point that I recommended it on one of the old threads at DVDVR for consideration when the 80s European set gets done. He'd already retired twice by the time this match took place, but remember thinking he must've been something pretty special in his youth. I've a load of old WOS discs that were recorded off TWC here in the UK, but unfortunately that's the only match of his on them.
  11. That's most likely from the tour I just wrote about. Here are Martin's results from then: 04.06.85 Kisarazu (L) w/ Dalibar Singh vs Super Tiger & Yoshiaki Fujiwara 04.08.85 Koshigaya (L) w/ Omar Atlas vs Akira Maeda & Yoshiaki Fujiwara 04.12.85 Tokyo (D) w/ Osamu Kido vs Ray Steele & Yoshiaki Fujiwara 04.14.85 Osaka (W) Mach Hayato 04.16.85 Sagamihara (L) Osamu Kido 04.17.85 Matsumoto (L) w/ Omar Atlas vs Super Tiger & Yoshiaki Fujiwara 04.18.85 Suwa (L) Kazuo Yamazaki 04.20.85 Nagano (L) w/ Dalibar Singh vs Akira Maeda & Super Tiger 04.23.85 Aomori (L) Nobuhiko Takada 04.24.85 Goshogawara (L) w/ Omar Atlas vs Super Tiger & Osamu Kido 04.26.85 Tokyo (L) w/ Dalibar Singh vs Super Tiger & Mach Hayato
  12. According to the Mat Results newsletters I've got, he did a tour for them back in April 1985. It seemed pretty common place for the UWF to bring over some European based talent each tour as the likes of Pete Roberts, Marty Jones, Keith Haward, Wayne Bridges, Dave Finlay, Bernie Wright, Johnny South and Dalibar Singh all wrestled for the promotion at various times.

  19. Yeah, I am a narc. The 1000's of copied DVD's that are sitting in my computer room just scream narc. Douche. Great way to endear yourself to everyone on here!

  22. It was DJMIKENICE over on Crazy Max. Made a huge deal at the time that he was off on a trip to the Dominican to go and source and get a copy of this match. Returned and claimed he found a copy, but then decided he didn't want to shill it and just wanted to keep it for himself (despite the fact that he had plenty of people prepared silly money (by Crazy Max standards) for a copy of it). Fast forward to earlier this year, and he tried to run some elaborate grab bag con 'where one lucky customer would receive the copy of Flair vs Veneno'. After some investigative work it transpired he never had a copy in the first place and it was BS all along and just some way to try and get himself over on a forum.
  23. Has Dave or anyone mentioned what was the catalyst for Styles getting on the ballot? Sabu, The Dudleys and Kane have all been mentioned as weak candidates, but I can at least see reasoning for each of them. I'm struggling to come up with anything for Styles.
  24. Both Breaks and Joyce were on the ballot last year but neither fared that well. Breaks received 15% of the votes, whilst Joyce only just scraped staying on with 11%.
  25. 'I worked 60 days straight, doing double shots on the weekend.'
