  1. Cheers for the answer Loss. I was expecting that Vintage Wrestling was originally going to release the 1990 Memphis feed on Crazy Max at some point, though struggling to get sign ups seemed to halt him putting out 'new' footage.
  2. Out of interest does anyone know where this footage came from? I imagined that most of the 1990 USWA footage (bar the Texas stuff) would be from Trent Warren's set, but the Evansville feed pixilates Vicki stripping DWG, yet it's shown here in all its unpixilated glory!
  3. actually it is not, its very realistic, I sent you just the 3 disc in sleeves (no hard case) & it costed me $13.99 for first class s&h!! The usps is what is ridiculous my friend! It should be illegal for them to charge that much to ship a small envelope like that Shipping from the US to the UK has become ridiculous in the past six or so months. I ordered four discs of a TV show from someone and postage was similar (or slightly less than this), whilst I regularly order the most recent MMA from someone in the States (usually around 20 or so discs) and find I'm paying the same to cover postage as I am in the cost of the discs themselves.
  4. Crimson Mask's posts are always laughable when it comes to MMA. The guy appears to have watched so much Boxing in his life that he believes the corruption and the like in Boxing also takes place in MMA. Read his play by plays. He (Crimson Mask) considers himself a far better judge than those who are appointed by the commission, if they don't score the fight the same as him they're wrong and 'hometown decisions' are one of his favourite excuses when a fighter he thinks won the fight doesn't. This was never going to happen. GSP wants/wanted no part of Silva and at least now we don't have to put up with numerous interviews of Georges constantly dodging the question.
  5. Not a chance, the last thing they would do is change his name.

  7. Sherri in a heartbeat. Not much more that I can add to what's already been said, but a tremendously versatile performer who always added something to the match or whomever she was managing. Took great bumps and was pretty fearless too (only earlier today I was watching the Halloween Havoc Hogan/Flair cage match, and she jumps off the top of the cage in that). I agree with Grover in that I don't think there was really that much between them (if anything) on the mic either.
  8. Just wanted to add my thanks to El Boricua as I really enjoyed reading those posts.
  9. There is a really good interview with Don Frye on one of the old Eyada Wrestling Observer Live shows, and he has a funny story about a meeting he had with Eric Bischoff in regards to him possibly coming to WCW. Basically they were having a meal somewhere discussing things and then got talking about UFC and fighting. Bischoff then starts building up his buddy, and saying he's a champion kickboxer, won numerous titles etc really bigging him up and then says to Frye 'He's outside, do you want to meet him?'. Frye says yeah, and then in comes Ernest Miller. Miller then starts saying how he could win the UFC title and how they've never had any real kickers in the promotion, at which point Frye brings up Maurice Smith. Miller then belittles Smith and says how he could beat him, and could beat anyone in the UFC, which leads to Frye getting in his face and saying how 'You couldn't beat me' and basically offers him out there and then. Anyway, that cost Frye a shot at getting into WCW, and he said how Bischoff/WCW didn't even pay for his meal and whatnot after the outburst.
  10. Haven't watched it for years, but really enjoyed his match with Johnny Saint that aired in the early episodes of WOS on TWC.

  12. I've got Tate/Kedzie at two and Lauzon/Varner at three, both behind the Korean Zombie/Poirier fight.
  13. McManus went in with 78% of the vote. Pallo was actually the next UK candidate with 46%, Rocco with 43%, Saint at 40%, Daddy at 23%, Breaks on 15%, Joyce at 11% and Nagasaki with 10%. Marty Jones got less than 10% and drops off next year's ballot.
  14. I don't know enough about Pallo to comment on him, but I have come round to the belief that McManus is a stronger candidate than Daddy.
  15. Ah, I couldn't imagine Dave having watched a bunch (if any) Jim Breaks footage so thought someone would have to have been in his ear about adding him to the ballot (though after checking out one of the threads at Classics I see that Marty Jones has been added too). I'm not buying that in the slightest. I could agree with Warrior maybe, primarily as (without checking Cawthon's site) I have a feeling it was his first UK appearance, but Bret, no way. I was there that night, and from memory the draw was the fact that it was 'WWF' and the fact that it was 'one of the big four in the UK'. There was a group of four of us who went. Three of us had access to WWF programming, the other, I don't know.
  16. They also had a NJPW TV match in 1979. One sits in the corner to wait for the tag because neither will fit on the apron. I don't know the year, but they wrestled a handicap match against Inoki and it's on the NJPW TV 1974-1981 set that Din Ginetty released.
  17. I'd completely missed seeing this, so I'd be interested what was the impetus for Dave adding him to the ballot or who had been in his ear pimping Breaks. I'm not imagining he'll do too well, but I hope that Cornette at least got round to watching the Breaks discs I sent him a few years back.
  18. I think the only competition he would have is Kendo Nagasaki who was a huge name. Just out of interest are you baased in the UK at all Nintendo Logic? I've always thought that it's hard to explain to someone who isn't from the UK just how big a name Daddy is/was over here.

  20. I saw that the Olympic Judo update was behind the paywall . Afterall, the first place that Judo fans check to get their Olympic updates is the Wrestling Observer site...
  21. I'd recommend Mat Results to you. From what I can gather it was probably the number two newsletter (behind the Observer) while it was in existence; tons of news that is done territory by territory, clippings, hundreds of results from all over the US and abroad, wrestler profiles, letters page etc. I spent a fair bit of money getting back issues of this newsletter from Grant Zwarych (the guy who does the Observer back issues) around 7 or 8 years ago and do have some additional issues that Jason doesn't. It was my intention to scan those, but I just don't really have the time at the moment.
  22. I've seen very little Al Hayes footage, but thoroughly enjoyed his match with Steve Veidor that aired on TWC over here in the UK.
  23. I never had an issue with Morton playing that role, but did think Gibson with his wandering eye was a bit of a stretch.

  25. Here's what I wrote about the Moretti one at the time: That's the problem with Cornette, the guy has done so many different Shoots or Q&A sessions that you've probably heard all his stories by now and there is an awful lot of overlap from one shoot to the next.
