Loss
We start with Sherri on the mic to Tammy: "Let me tell you something, you little bitch!" The match is great for Tammy trying to interfere then get away from Sherri quickly. Tammy does a quick trip of Smothers, so Sherri responds by doing a quick trip of Lee. Sherri finally gets her hands on the little bitch and Lee manages to get a cheap win, after which Sherri gets in a few good shots on him too. Sherri was great! El-P
Sherri was great! And that's the story of this match. Too bad she wasn't feature on TV, I would have loved more Tammy vs Sherri stuff. Sherri ruled so much, and this is one of these match where she's the second best worker despite being outside of the ring.
Kevin Ridge
Play by play guy likes Sherri's build. Both Tammy and Sherri get physically involved against the wrestlers. Sherri did not deliver the violence she said she would against Tammy. But she did her best to keep Tammy in line. Sherri pops Lee in the face after. Cracking up at Tammy in promo after talking about bringing Ron Wright into their home and feeding him like he was a stray dog.
PeteF3
Really fun match, from the clips that we see. Working with Tracey Smothers every night will do wonders for anybody--this has to be the run of Brian Lee's career. Finish is a clusterfuck, but a fun clusterfuck rather than one with 37 run-ins, and it ends with Lee retaining the title again. That should just about do it for Smothers as a challenger--and now the Dirty White Boy wants a title shot. Tammy is taking care of Ron Wright, but that hip replacement money seems to be going to new dresses and Rolexes instead. Are they going for an Anna Nicole Smith thing here with Tammy and Wright? GSR
Smothers with the jawjacker and Fytch puts Lee’s foot on the ropes. Sherri starts to stalk Tammy and Mark Curtis gets out of the ring to stop her. Lee with a DDT and then Fytch throws her bag to Primetime. Sherri has had enough and finally gets her hands on Fytch (to a great reaction). Smothers with a sleeper on Lee, but he nails him in the head with a foreign object he took from the bag and rolls him up for the pin. Sherri jumps on Primetime’s back after the match and just as he is about to hit her Tracey makes the save. The two of them fight again until Sherri slaps Lee and he rolls out of the ring. Bob Caudle says how the Dirty White Boy has said that he has earned a shot at the title, but Lee says that he’s the one who says whether you get a shot at the title not him. He’s just like Tracey Smothers, he should be picking tobacco or riding a tractor somewhere and should get out of professional wrestling. Maybe one day, if he five or ten minutes, he might give him a title shot, but right now he has bigger fish to fry. Fytch shows off the new dress that Ronnie has bought her and she says he’s showing his gratitude because they’re taking such good care of him. They’ve taken him into their home, they’re feeding him and clothing him because the Dirty White Boy couldn’t do the job. Fytch says that Ronnie has bought her this dress and a rolex all while Lee is flashing Wright’s credit card behind his back. Last night she was sat on tiger’s lap and he is just about to sign those adoption papers so she can become part of the family. Lee asks whether he is going to sign the will too, but Fytch cuts him off and tells him they’ll talk about that later.
garretta
The promo was better than the match, for reasons I'll get to in a second. Tammy was tremendous here, and so different from the spoiled but still well-meaning host of Tammy's Tips. Here, there's no question that she's a scheming, greedy little Jezebel, talking about how "Ronnie" has bought her all sorts of nice things and has even "consented" to adopt her out of gratitude for recuing him from Tony. Lee's every bit as funny making gestures in the background with Ron's credit card, and I loved his "slip" about Ron's will. This is a great angle that probably wouldn't have been run in either of the Big Two for at least another five years, and even then they'd have probably messed it up by playing the whole thing for cheap laughs. As for the match, it really didn't deliver unless the only thing you wanted to see was Sherri getting her hands on Tammy. Even then, there wasn't any sort of real action between the two, since Sherri was a trained wrestler and Tammy wasn't. More importantly, Sherri didn't do her job, which was to stop Tammy from interfering. Her purse was still used in the finish, and Brian still got the pinfall. So why bring Sherri in? Anyone could have done what Sherri ended up doing (or not doing, as the case may be) for a lot less money. The cherry on the sundae was that Curtis had to have seen the object that Brian used on the canvas; it was right there big as life. But he didn't choose to reverse the decision, which as Pete said was a sure sign that the feud was over with Brian coming out on top fairly decisively. I guess with Tony about to turn Corny really didn't need Tracy as his top singles face anymore, but that's at least three of them down the drain, or at least shoved down the card: Horner, Brian himself, and Tracy. Then again, I'm not sure that Corny felt the need to have a true top singles face in the first place: SMW, at its core, was about Rock 'n' Roll, the Bodies (at least until they left), and his own endless struggle with Bullet Bob. As long as those elements were in place, Corny most likely believed that the rest of the card was interchangeable window dressing.
soup23
Really liked the clips of the match we saw. Sherri always looks so fired up and great as the pissed off woman looking for revenge. For a shoddy finish, this was well done. The interview segment was also neat seeing Tammy and Brian Lee helping out Ron Wright and Wright has a pet name for Tammy. It looks like they are just trying to maneuver their way into Ron's will.
