Loss
A pair of nice interviews with Cornette and Lee/Fytch. DWB interrupts the Lee/Fytch promo with a chair.
El-P
DWB's promo is so intense. This guy had such presence, the more I watch him there and the less I can figure why they did this to him in WWF. Bunch of yankee fuckers.
Kevin Ridge
Cornette talks up bad things about the Bruise Brothers that you would want to see them kick Bodies and Cornette's ass. But it is the Bruise Brothers. Dirty White Boy has ditched his Yankee ways and embracing the Tennessee way. His promos as a face through 94 were great. PeteF3
Cornette is bringing in the Moondogs to take out the Rock 'n Roll Express--the matches will be unsanctioned because Smoky Mountain refuses to license the Dogs. Then he calls out the Bruise Brothers, and Cornette continues to be an expert at angles and promos that strike a nerve in his audience, discussing management & labor with regard to the Bruise Brothers failing to do their jobs properly. Prichard and Del Ray are hilarious doing a mock-drunk act when Cornette talks about sending the Bruise (Booze?) Brothers back to their old biker bar. Lee and Fytch are proud of themselves for what they did to Ron Wright. Lee makes the mistake of daring the White Boy to come out and earns a chair shot to the head. White Boy is SEETHING--when Anthony is speaking quietly, you know some heavy shit is going down. His line about being the old Bucksnort, Tennessee Dirty White Boy gets a HUGE reaction. SMW is hot up and down the card right now.
...TG
What an episode of SMW! The Candido/Blaze angle was a lot of fun, and now DWB completes his face turn with an hellacious promo after that amazing angle with Ron Wright. DWB has become one of my favorites thanks to the yearbooks.
GSR
They replay the video from last week of what happened with the Bruise Brothers and Jim Cornette isn’t happy at all. It’s not going to be too long before the Moondogs will be here and they’re going to take care of the Rock & Roll Express. They’ve a lot going on in the WWF and the Moondogs will make sure that they don’t have them hounding them every step of the way. Even though Smoky Mountain Wrestling wouldn’t license them, the Rock & Rolls didn’t want anyone to think that they weren’t courageous, that they were chicken, so have agreed to face them anyway and it’s going to be their funeral. He then tells the Bruise Brothers that they are ungrateful. He took them out of one of those biker bars in Florida, gave them a job when they didn’t have one, he raised them up from nothing to be stars in professional wrestling and then they backstab him and the Heavenly Bodies. If they had done their job properly with the Rock & Roll Express none of this would have ever happened. They are labour, he is management, and you don’t tell your boss what to do or embarrass him in public. The Bruise Brothers have a lesson in wrestling coming quick and then they’ll be back in those biker bars and the unemployment line. Bob Caudle can’t believe that Lee and Fytch turned on an old man like Ron Wright. Lee says that the Dirty White Boy can talk the talk but can’t walk the walk. He’s always going to do something, is always going to kick someone’s butt, but what happened? Brian Lee left him in a pile of blood with that old, bald headed, stupid goat lay next to him! Fytch says that there is one thing they’re going to miss though, and that’s Ronnie’s credit card. She’s so glad that they are rid of him as he was nothing but a nuisance and a pain in her neck. The White Boy then shows up all bandaged and nails Lee with a chair shot to the head. He tells Lee and Fytch that what they did to him has been done before but done better, but it made him sick to his stomach to see Ron Wright lay in that ring. He renounces his links to New York City and that Bucksnort’s Dirty White Boy is coming after Brian Lee, some dues are going to be paid and he’s the man who he has got to pay them to! Ladies and Gentleman the face turn is complete! The Dirty White Boy can project such intensity with his promos and he's on fire at the moment. garretta
Unfirtunately, we lost the majority of Tony's promo when the original tape cut out. There was enough there to establish how angry Tony is over what happened to Ron, though, and I can't wait to see the match that came before this. Brian took a hell of a bump off of that chair shot to make things complete. Nice to see Tony come home to Tennessee! Corny was excellent as usual, but the Bodies made this interview with their gestures much like Brian did with Tammy's earlier. I can't believe that it took Jigolo Jimmy to come up with the nickname "Booze Brothers", though; I thought that Corny was going there the second he mentioned biker bars. You're slipping, Jimbo! I think a couple of Rock 'n' Roll's matches with the Dogs made Will's SMW set, and they're almost the exact same match (singular) that they had for months with Jeff and Lawler in Memphis. The only differences were that Ricky bled a little more than the Memphis guys did and that Corny had the dog whistle instead of Richard Lee. Personally, I prefer the early eighties Moondogs that held the WWF tag team title to either version we've seen, and Albano was a much better managerial fit than either Corny or Lee. (This was about the same time that Capper really started to look like a bum, as he wore sandals and cutoff jeans while managing the Dogs that did him no favors whatsoever. He'd been a slob before, but now guys like Vince and Pat Patterson started wretching the second he came into camera range.)
soup23
I didn't think Cornettes promo was that great as it feels like the Bodies are kind of in between a few different things. Del Ray is hilarious mocking the booze brothers. Brian Lee and Tammy promo was good as they talk about how they don't need Wright anymore but will miss the credit card. DWB chases them off with a chair. The DWB promo was awesome where he says he is no longer speaking as a DWB from NYC but from Bucksnort Tenn to a huge pop. I love this feud.
