Gene Okerlund brings Hulk Hogan is coming out for an interview. Hogan is still in his neckbrace and is prepared to go after The Giant, but a lady in the audience throws powder at him and starts hitting him with a cane. WAIT, THAT'S NO LADY, THAT'S THE TASKMASTER! Giant rips off Hogan's neckbrace and snaps his neck again. But then, we get the awesome part, as Sullivan shaves off Hogan's mustache! Hot angle. Bischoff has no idea how to sell this in a way that gets over the impact, and when Hogan is ringside, the camera angles give away that something is about to happen, but that's WCW for you, and this is still one of the best WCW angles of the year. The Nasty Boys and American Males come in to make the save, but get cut off by chokeslams from the Giant. They tease cutting Hogan's hair, and Heenan is having a field day.

This isn't exactly Paul Jones cutting off Jimmy Valiant's beard but it's still a good angle. Kevin Sullivan looks like the Flying Nun. Giant looks bad ass beating up fools.

Heenan going crazy is the highlight. What was this fascination of guys dressing up like women to attack Hogan ?

On the same show, the debut match of Eddie vs Dean was interrupted so we can watch Hogan arrive in the building and cut a shitty "dude, brotha" promo with Jimmy Hart. Ah, WCW...

If nothing else, we would have got a redux of the Andre haircut angle where he was was "raped of his dignity".

 

This may be one of the only times during 94-95 where Hogan allowed himself to look vulnerable.

Bischoff is acting like Hogan will die if he wrestles the Giant in his condition. Hogan doesn't see the Giant out, so as he heads to the back to find him, WHAM! Powder to the eyes from an old lady in the front row. The Taskmaster beats the shit out of Hogan and Hart with the cane and the Giant is out. Sullivan SHAVES OFF THE MOUSTACHE in a crazy scene. Then Zodiac whips out a pair of scissors(!) in a cute nod to history, but just stands over him like an idiot instead of actually following through. Angles like this are why I give credence to Sullivan's explanation of using the Dungeon of Doom as a way to appeal to Hulk before unleashing crazier follow-up angles. It's hard to imagine the Hogan of 1994 through summer of '95 agreeing to this.

Between Sherri, Flair, and now Sullivan, someone must have really figured cross dressing was a great way to get at Hulk Hogan in this era.

Excellent angle! This Chicken Soup for the Pro Wrestling Fan Soul! Hogan cuts a pretty ridiculous promo about some kid that needs a double lung transplant told Hogan that he needs to belly up to the bar and take care of this big, stinky, nasty Giant. Then Hogan goes to take a victory lap mid-promo so something is up Sullivan is dressed as an old lady throws powder in his Hogan’s eyes and canes Jimmy Hart & Hogan. God Bless Pro Wrestling! Giant waylays everyone including American Males & Nasties killing that match. They SHAVE OFF THE FU-MANCHU! They threaten to cut off his hair but that is a bridge too far. Excellent pro wrestling. If the Dungeon was just Giant, Sullivan and Jimmy Hart and Lex Luger it would have been a damn good group or get them a new name.
