Loss
They start by showing a clip of the Hogan interview where his son asked him if he could beat Flair. Flair talks directly to Nick and says he could beat Hogan with the snap of his fingers. He invites Hogan to watch Flair beat Steamboat at ringside at Spring Stampede. Was that planned at this point? Steamboat is out to take exception to this. Flair says if Steamboat has an issue, he too can watch Flair in the ring the following week, and offers him a ringside ticket at Center Stage. He says maybe he's forgotten what it's like to be around greatness, which gets a big "ooooh" from the crowd. Flair is fantastic here. I guess I'm glad Hogan wasn't at ringside for Flair/Steamboat. Talk about a weird mixing of wrestling worlds.
Kevin Ridge
Starting to get serious between Flair and Hogan. This was a needed step up for Flair on the promos compared to some of his prior ones since the Vader match. He seems to be more accepting of what is going to happen with Hogan. I like Steamboat taking offense to being looked passed on by Flair.
Exposer
This was really great with Flair being a total ass and Steamboat getting invited to watch the Nature Boy compete the next week. Hilarious and good segment.
soup23
Steamboat getting involved and showing fire adding some adrenaline in this match and I can buy Flair beating Steamboat to prove his worth to Hogan. It was funny that Flair mentioned that Jordan and Barkley would be attending the match.
El-P
Flair is already a total heel there. He's really good here, too bad the focus is obviously on Hogan and not on Steamboat. This PPV must have done great numbers...
PeteF3
I always thought rushing to turn Ric heel again was a mistake, and that in a perfect world they could have had the money match without the turn. But watching this stuff now, there really didn't seem to be anywhere else for Flair to go after the Vader issue was settled. There were no other legitimate heels for him to wrestle (Rude wasn't fresh and had been refusing to put Flair over). Sort of says something that they had to drag Barry Windham out of the mothballs to tide things over until Hogan was ready. So this turn doesn't seem as bad now. It helps that Flair is kicking ass on the mic--it doesn't get more dickish than cutting a promo on a 4-year old. I also like how they're pushing a Flair match on TV as a special event.
