Loss Posted June 1, 2012 Author Report Posted June 1, 2012 I know they're in Charleston, but Hogan doesn't exactly get a hero's welcome in his first appearance in front of a crowd. Pretty funny to hear all the boos. Flair interrupts by Turnertron and looks like a cartoon character version of himself immediately. He does get a nice reaction, though. Quote
Kevin Ridge Posted June 3, 2012 Report Posted June 3, 2012 Can’t help but hear those boos for Hogan’s introduction. Not the reaction you would want here. Hogan’s says to listen to the Hulkamaniacs and the crowd boos even more louder. Hogan challenges the winner of the Flair/Sting match. Flair looks demented on the video scream. Not the Ric from beginning of the year. More boos for Hogan. Quote
Exposer Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 Dylan was at this show. He could probably give a better explanation of the crowd that night. But yeah, Hulk wasn't getting the love...at all. Flair was though. This was pretty embarrassing for WCW I would think and a lesson to be learned: Don't debut Hogan in Flair country. Quote
soup23 Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 Hogan getting booed in first live appearance was something else and should have at least been concerning to WCW. Flair looks good interrupting and gets a good reaction. Quote
El-P Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 Man, I never saw this before. Hogan gets booed out of the building ! Makes for a fun moment. Flair has a nervous breakdown. I really wonder why he choosed to go that route, why not remain the poised champion he portrayed for the last few months ? Quote
jasch Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 Hogan was shook here. He stumbles his words and his eyes are darting all over. I don't think it occurred to him that he would get booed out of the building. Quote
Zenjo Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 They should've held this at MGM studios, where the crowd do as they are told! The reaction made it clear that Hogan would bomb as a face in WCW. Unfortunately it would take 2 years to turn him heel, half of which he was off shooting movies. Quote
Dooley Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 Man, I never saw this before. Hogan gets booed out of the building ! Makes for a fun moment. Flair has a nervous breakdown. I really wonder why he choosed to go that route, why not remain the poised champion he portrayed for the last few months ? I think the idea was that if Flair cranks the crazy heel-ness up to 11, then Hogan is a more palatable choice for the fans as face. Didn't work, but I think that's the logic. Quote
Guest stanley Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 I remember a nitro in Chicago before hogan turned heel they just shit all over Hogan. It was great. Quote
BruiserBrody Posted July 11, 2015 Report Posted July 11, 2015 The WON from the time says that WCW Saturday Night was half filled with plants for Hogan's first appearance in order to make sure he'd get the desired reaction. Quote
