Loss
Talk about it here.
Loss
Pretty run-of-the-mill Rock and Rolls match. Not something that really stood out all that much in a good or bad way. I am guessing this was the first competitive Gangstas match. The Gangstas and their "posse" surround Morton and beat him with nightsticks in the post-match as Les Thatcher asks where we've seen this before. Loss
And now I have to ask if they got complaints about that promo, with New Jack dropping the n-bomb.
Kevin Ridge
Decent match for The Gangstas being involved and there being no brawling. Pretty basic TV match overall. Ricky takes his beating for the while and the Rock n' Roll get the pinfall on Mustafa. They turn there back post match and pay for it. Thatcher plays up the Rodney King/LA Riots stuff to compare to Morton getting beat up after. New Jack uses naughty language in his promo. Exposer
New Jack dropped the n bomb and I laughed hysterically. Awesome. Surely, there was outrage over that. The match was really only an occurrence meaning it wasn't good or bad at all. The post-match mugging was great though.
soup23
I hated the match. Gangsters have been talking shit for a month then have a straight up tag match with little intensity. New Jack riling up the crowd was nice and he goes all the way on the post match promo.
El-P
And there you go. New Jack cuts a great promo, but in the ring the Gangstas are pretty much greenhorns with no much talent to showcase. Nothing match, boring beatdown. I feel I won't enjoy the SMW Gangstas much more than I did the ECW ones.
PeteF3
In some ways I'm surprised that Mustafa looked as competent as he did, but this is pretty much a nothing match and I don't agree with the decision to job the Gangstas this quickly. They get their heat back in a big way by flagrantly re-enacting the Rodney King beating on Ricky Morton after the match. There hasn't been a Yearbook yet with so much current-event pandering, not even during the height of the Gulf War. New Jack cuts a great post-match promo backing up everything he said earlier about fighting as opposed to wrestling. "We the wrong niggas to mess with!" Uh, wow. The Rodney King re-enactment and the n-bomb come off as more cynical and/or desperate than just pure wrasslin', even though I understand the motivation behind the gimmick and respect Cornette for taking risks. GSR
A combination sunset flip and dropkick from the Express on Mustafa sees them score the pin. The Gangstas jump the Rock & Rolls after the match and throw Gibson over the top rope to the arena floor. Their security then gets in the ring and the four of them start putting the boots to Morton and beating him with nightsticks a la Rodney King. Morton ends up getting busted open while they manage to keep Gibson at bay from helping his partner. Pretty lackluster match especially when you consider New Jacks promos leading up to this and how they were coming to fight with the Rock & Roll Express, the post-match beatdown was the highlight. Post match interview and New Jack says that they've set the tone for whats going to happen to the Rock & Roll Express in the days to comeif they make it that far. He told them that hes not someone to be played with and sooner or later hed get them. Sure, they may beat them wrestling, but not when it comes to fighting. Hes a bad man and this is only the beginning of a whole lotta lumps upside their head, the beginning of a whole lotta trips to the hospital and the beginning of seeing what happens when you run with someone from South Central. Theyre the wrong niggas to mess with and dont the Rock & Roll Express ever forget it.
