Loss Posted June 13, 2012 Author Report Posted June 13, 2012 Bischoff announces that Hogan/Flair at Havoc will be in a cage, and that Muhammad Ali will present the title to the winner of the match. Mr. T will be the referee. Could they telegraph Flair losing anymore than that? Flair cuts a killer promo, mentioning that he was in the ring every night while Hogan was getting all the notoriety. Flair points out that this will be a clash between the two best ever and gives him his due. That's nice, but what surprises me is Hogan paying Flair a compliment as being the top wrestler in the world. That's the first time I've seen Hogan say anything nice about his opponent in a promo ... ever. Quote
Kevin Ridge Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 Ali and Mr. T involved. What is this WrestleMania 1? Mr T. will be the referee. Flair cuts one of his better promos since earlier in the year. Hogan is low key in his promo. He's been all over the place on his promos whether he is in Hulkamania mode or being passive. Too bad Liberace wasn't around to play Also sprach Zarathustra on piano. Quote
Exposer Posted June 29, 2012 Report Posted June 29, 2012 Flair is really great here. Hogan shockingly compliments Flair here but sounds like the bad guy through all of this. WCW really gave away the match when assigning Mr. T and Muhammad Ali to be a part of the match. Quote
soup23 Posted July 7, 2012 Report Posted July 7, 2012 This along with the Bash at the Beach contract signing were really well done and felt like a big event press conference with good promos by both. Hogan actually does a great job being low key and serious given the magnitude of the stipulations. Quote
El-P Posted December 14, 2012 Report Posted December 14, 2012 Fuck me, I actually like Hogan here, he's low key and serious and comes off like a legit champ and not an unlikable guy at all. Flair's promo is great. Without the involvment of Mr. T (seriously...) and Ali, it would have been an excellent angle to sell the match. As it is, they did gave it away totally by having these guests around. Quote
PeteF3 Posted June 7, 2014 Report Posted June 7, 2014 This is the type of segment they needed to run at Fall Brawl to make the match. Flair warns us that once he beats and retires Hogan, he'll be the hardest athlete in sports to deal with! This is tightly edited and really well-done as a piece of production as much as it was as a wrestling promo. Quote
