Canek apparently drew massively from the mid-'70s through to the early 90s in UWA (mainly or exclusively, IDK), but I've always heard that Blue Demon and Mil Mascaras were the next tier below El Santo draws in Mexico.

I've never actually gone out of my way to look deeply into that, but it's something I couldn't not read if I tried.

Could someone help me understand this match better?

. Heavy Metal & La Parka Jr. vs LA Park & Zorro. I get that it's like a house show crowd/tons of schtick kind of match, but what is the relation between LA PARK and La Parka Jr., and what is the thing LA PARK keeps doing in the corner to both guys and the ref?

I know in Lucha that it's an automatic DQ if you take the other guy's mask off, but has it ever happened before in a regular match? It seems like it would make for a hot feud, but I can't see a guy agreeing to it and missing the payday of a mask match.

Not quite sure I understand your question. Regular as in non mask match in lucha? Sure, they do that finish all the time.

Either guy gets his mask ripped off behind the refs back and then cradled for the pin as he covers his face or gets it ripped off for the DQ in front of the ref.

Ocasionally they'll try and get cute with it and even do a double one whear both oppoenents rip the others mask off at the same time so they end up scrambling and have to put on their opponents mask to cover up.

In any case, the guy is only unmasked for 1 or 2 seconds so it never kills the mask match appeal.

It's pretty common for guys to get their mask partially ripped open as well, especially if there's gonna be blood and sometimes half or more of their face will be exsposed from that too. Surprisingly that doesn't kill the mask match value either.

What's the deal with Sombra wearing the shirt and then taking it off late in the match? Is it some sort of homage to the Hardys, or is there a meaning behind it?

Casas/Sombra is my 2012 MOTY for now (not saying much yet, I've seen barely anything from this year).

Babyface spot to get the ladies hyped for his comeback. No different than Lawler dropping the strap.
