Loss
Talk about it here.
Kevin Ridge
They don’t have the video history for Hogan to match the Flair feature. Okerlund interviews Hogan’s parents. They like that he bought them a condo and a Cadillac. They worry about Hogan in the match with Flair. Hogan shows off pictures of him with his famous friends. Gene says it would be a travesty if Ric Flair takes away the enjoyment of Hulk Hogan from everybody. Should have been you Gene in that Barbed Wire Electrified Dynamite Pool Hell Match. Loss
Gene Okerlund interviews Hulk's parents. There are strategically no pictures of Hogan in the WWF on the wall in their background (they show a couple later), but there are plenty from Japan. Mrs. Bollea clearly put on her make-up and nice jewelry for television! I was thinking this segment was pretty decent, but then Hulk strategically drops by and seems as phony as the day is long. Gene calls the Bollea house a "modest little home". That's amazingly rude and tacky.
Exposer
This was pretty good but got bad when Hulk arrived. This is all phony as hell to me.
soup23
I can't decide if this was good build for the match or the most self -gratuitous thing I have ever seen. still I love these "real" life features and I do think we did some sides of Hulk here that he guards pretty tightly at this time. El-P
I can't stand Gene Okerlund anymore. He's just a Hogan croonie at this point.
PeteF3
Flair gets some great action clips and killer interview clips. Hulk gets still photos of Thunder in Paradise and Mr. Nanny. That pretty much says it all. They do finally make an attempt to add some gravity to this stipulation, but too little too late. Hulk talks about "touching base" with his family (I think of "touching base" as a quick check-in to clarify something, not exactly a heartwarming exemplar, but whatever) and his upbringing, without actually ever talking about the match in anything other than quick lip service.
