Loss
Talk about it here.
Loss
The yearbook debut of DAWNA, the most awesome interviewer in wrestling history. She has a very thick Joisey accent (and very big Joisey hair) and asks Super Duper Mario a series of high school newspaper-style questions after declaring him the Wrestler of the Month. I'm not sure I know why she ended up on TV or who she was, but I'm so glad she's with us. I refuse to believe that someone wrote in to ask what Super Duper Mario likes to do in his spare time, though.
Bix
Since Loss made sure to spell it "Joisey," it should be pointed out for those who haven't seen this yet that her name is, in fact spelled Dawna, not a joke about her accent. PeteF3
The Italian extract part of me almost knows what it's like for black people to watch Stepin Fetchit or Amos 'n Andy material after seeing this. This is everything it was hyped up to be.
pantherwagner
Wow, I have seen Bix's Chronicles of Dawna on youtube. That's something. Indy wrestling nowadays needs less STRONG STYLE tards that try to book like Gabe Sapolsky and more people like the Savoldis.
Zenjo
Did Mario's brother ever become a wrestler? I remember that I used to want there to be a wrestling fed based on the characters from Mortal Kombat rather than Super Mario Bros. Great to see Dawna's first ever TV appearance after graduating high school. She was presumably related to someone in ICW?
soup23
Good lord words cant describe this. Dawna is awesome so far and she cracked up when Mario said he liked to play video games.
shoe
Right when she opened her mouth I started cracking up.
Kevin Ridge
Super Duper Mario!? Copyright infringement. Captain Lou would not approve of this. Dawna asked some hard hitting questions.
Cox
As somebody who lives in New Jersey, I have to say, that is NOT a Jersey accent. That is a Staten Island accent. Not saying that there aren't New Jerseyans with awful accents, but that isn't our particular regional dialect. And NOBODY here ever says Joisey, dammit. Anyway, this segment. It's pretty much everything you'd expect out of a teenage Staten Island chick interviewing a blatant Super Mario ripoff gimmick, with hints of Italian stereotyping thrown in for good measure. All this was missing was Super Mario saying "That's a spicy meatball!"
PeteF3
BREAKING NEWS UPDATE: Well, not that breaking--it was posted a month ago on Kayfabe Memories, but I just saw it now. Ray Odyssey has revealed to the world that Dawna was, in fact, the stepdaughter of Tony Rumble. Now we know.
garretta
A teenager interviewing a video game character come to life. Ah, the joys of indy wrestling! I wonder if the guy playing Super Duper Mario ever became someone important in the business. (By the way, if I'd been in Dawna's shoes and a walking, talking video game character told me that he liked to play video games in his spare time, I would have cracked up too.) drew wardlaw
So I'm led to believe we will be seeing more of Dawna? I sure hope so, this is incredible television.
GSR
Dawna is our host for the ICW Teen Report and her guest is Super Duper Mario. Mario with his faux Italian accent is very happy to be with Dawna and also to have been voted the ICW Wrestler of the Month. Dawna has a bunch of banal questions such as has Mario been receiving a lot of fan letters? What are his future plans for the ICW? (He hopes to wrestler Tony Atlas for the ICW title and make mama proud!) What does he like to do in his spare time and does he like to do any other sports? (He likes to play soccer believe it or not!). Deep probing stuff here! Dawna thanks him for being her guest and invites him to come back and visit again soon. Can’t wait! Dawna has to be related to someone! This looks like an audition that has been rejected as opposed to a genuine interview on a TV show. I can’t even offer one redeeming quality of Dawna. Comfortably the worst interviewer to ever grace the world of wrestling.
