Loss
Lawler and Snowman end up in a studio brawl when Snowman smacks Lawler when he's talking. Eddie Marlin (who I should add is tremendous in all of this) tries to break it up, but finally security has to come out to escort Snowman out of the building. Another good segment. PeteF3
About the most realistic-looking brawl ever in a studio that's seen its share of brawls. I don't know how legit uncomfortable Dave Brown was with all of this but it REALLY comes across in his attempts to host these segments, which just adds to the effect. soup23
Good god this feud is awesome with the quick punches and hatred beating off the screen.
Kevin Ridge
More Lawler talking about match and Snowman comes out and slaps him. Not sure they needed this segment after the previous one.
Cox
This was even better than the last segment. As much as I love Bohemian Brother, that segment felt a bit long for something they're trying to portray as a shoot. This time around, they just go right into it and throw great looking punches that look different enough from wrestling punches to where even people who "knew" wrestling was fake in the area must have been thinking this was a legit fight. Great stuff.
garretta
I watched this before the other two long segments just to get a small glimpse of what was going on. Boy, they sure picked a big sucker, didn't they? And he looks more than capable of kicking Lawler's butt, too. Dave looks totally out of sorts here, which I guess is exactly what they wanted. It bears repeating that Memphis, maybe more than any other wrestling TV show, acknowledged the constraints of TV and the necessity of a tight format with everything coming off as expected and on time. That adds to the announcers' exasperation for so-called "unexpected" interruptions, and both Lance and Dave are masters at selling that exasperation. I don't know how much of it may be real, since the show was live, but they both make it seem as if all of it's real, and that's part of the show's unique feel. Lawler's off his verbal game a bit here, which is again as it should be if they're selling this as a shoot; he doesn't have the time or the foresight to go to his standard lines and gags. Can't wait to see the rest of this!
drew wardlaw
To echo PeteF, this is the best studio brawl I've ever seen and it doesn't look for a second like they're working.
GSR
Lawler is out with Dave Brown and Dave recaps that ‘The King’ and The Snowman are both going to be at the Mid-South Coliseum Monday night, but that the match will be unsanctioned. Lawler says that he doesn’t care if the match is sanctioned or not, he gave the man an opportunity… when out comes The Snowman again. Snowman slaps him, Lawler retaliates with one of his own and, while only lasting a short time’ the two have one of the most legitimate looking ‘fight’s you are ever likely to see in wrestling. Eddie Marlin is out in double quick time to get between them and they go at it again before security drags Snowman out of there. Lawler says the Snowman is nothing and the only reason he’s never gotten a title match is because he’s nothing but a loser and he’s going to prove it Monday night. If that fight was anything to go by, this unsanctioned match could be something pretty special. Bring it on!
dawho5
Great studio brawl. Looked almost legit, should be a ton of fun watching Lawler and the Snowman in the ring.
