Ox Baker assaults an old lady and takes her walker before another old lady socks him with her purse and runs him off.

 

We have ourselves a MR. UGLY CONTEST. Who is uglier -- Ox Baker or Mr. Frenchy? My vote is for Mr. Frency.

There have been several WTF moments on this set and this is one of the biggest.

 

Ohio has its share of cities with gratuitous confusing pronunciation changes, but..."Char-LOTTE, Iowa"?

Iowa Ringside Wrestling is another damn indy I've never ever heard of. Who's got the lowdown on this one?

 

This is clearly a way to gauge towns to run (see where these postcards are coming from, rent the National Guard Armory and blah blah).

Cute little commercial we have here. I'd agree that Ox should win the contest hands down.

 

I wonder what prizes they planned on giving away; this promotion looks like it was run a budget of about five bucks a month.

I'm very thankful we didn't get Mr. Frenchy in person. I think the sadness would have been too much for me to bear.

This Ringside Wrestling promotion out of Iowa might be the most obscure one yet. A limousine pulls up and one of the passengers asks this old lady where the wrestling is? She doesn’t know as she hates wrestling. Ox Baker steps out of the limo almost apoplectic that she doesn’t like wrestling. He tries to steal her walker when this other old dear shows up and starts hitting him over the head with her handbag, and they then quickly get out of there.

 

After that we get an advert for a ‘Mr Ugly’ contest between Ox Baker and Mr Frenchy, who I think might be a manager in this promotion. It’s a tough call!
