Loss
Not as good as their previous match, but still a solid effort. Gary Young really works well with Embry, and he seems to be more motivated than he was in 1990. He pins Embry here after hitting him with a chain. shoe
A good solid bout between the 2. Young has a really nice knee and uses it to take the advantage. Young works over Embry's back with forearms, and a couple of bear hugs. Embry's facials are pretty good hear, and convey that his back hurts. The chain at the finish usually works for me and it does here.
soup23
I liked this one better than their previous match. Embry showed more fire and gave a great flurry of punches after he showed Young the sign from the crowd. They also found some interesting ways to work around a bear hug. Young was solid throughout and picks up the win by using the chain.
PeteF3
There was some surprisingly nasty offense here, including clothesline and punch flurries from Embry, who even attempts a dropkick at one point. Having gone back to the dyed blond hair Embry is possibly the sleaziest-looking babyface in history--he makes Buck Robley look like modern-day WWE material. Young gets a foreign object from Akbar and conks Embry to steal a win and advance in the Texas State title tournament.
Kevin Ridge
Announcer wasn’t believing that pin fall attempt going into commercial break. Embry really needs the beard look. A bit slow with the bearhug spots. Young wins with the loaded fist.
Zoo Enthusiast
I prefer this one to the previous one, as well. Embry is one of my top guys that I'm thankful I have gotten to see more of through various projects. He's the kind of wrestler that I love to watch. garretta
We talk about Dundee/Tatum being dated, but this feud's still going on after over three years. Embry doesn't really project a babyface vibe anymore with the blond hair. Fortunately for him, he's in there with one of Ak's men, so he'd be cheered regardless. Young really works hard here, dominating the match with a well-done bearhug which Embry sells beautifully. It seems like Jarrett's trying to push Embry as Texas's answer to Lawler with the punches and the pulling down of the strap, but the magic doesn't work this time, as Young blasts Embry with the chain and scores the three count. I haven't seen the other match between these two yet, so I can't compare them. This seems like a typical quick tournament match, done to set up the rest of the bracket. It'll be interesting to see what these two do when they have the spotlight all to themselves.
cactus
You could take my thoughts from their last match and paste them here as this was very similar, just worked at a slower pace. Eric Young possess a nice looking running knee. The world's sleaziest babyface tries to hulk up Lawler style, but is greeted by a chain shot, costing him the match. ★★
