Hollinger. Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 It's gonna be harder to do with guys that streaky, but I'd say the best of it was the WWF stuff in the early 00s, though I don't remember it that well.
JerryvonKramer Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 Jerry, could you elaborate on why you picked those wrestlers? I'm not sure every wrestler even has a prime. Someone like Booker T who has been good at times on and off, but who no one really considers one of the greats, is hard to pin down because he doesn't even really have a peak. Loss - I picked them because it's not entirely clear when their prime is. Or at any rate, there are possible debates for each one. Booker T I picked for exactly that reason, when is his prime? Hogan I think therere's a real debate between his AWA run and 84-6 WWF. Similar situations for the others.

goodhelmet Posted February 1, 2013 Report Posted February 1, 2013 Jerry, get the fuck outta here with Bart Gunn.
Log Posted February 1, 2013 Report Posted February 1, 2013 Bart Gunn's easy. Prime started when he ko'd Dr. Death. Ended when he got ko'd by Butterbean. What was that? Like, 2 months?
Dylan Waco Posted February 1, 2013 Report Posted February 1, 2013 Alex Porteau peaked as a heel in Global. J.T. Smith peaked in 95/96 as transition from "you fucked up" collector of concussions to black guy who thinks he is Italian has strong internal consistency. Hack Myers prime was the squash match where he killed Donn E. Allen (his entire career should be assessed on this, which puts him in the argument for GOAT). Not sure about Bart Gunn though.
thebrainfollower Posted February 1, 2013 Report Posted February 1, 2013 Thinking of Bart Gunn's prime brings to mind the scene in Rocky where Mickey visits him asking to be his manager. But maybe that's because I've never seen his Japan stuff.
