Tommy Dreamer gets attacked by Shane Douglas, Chris Candido and Brian Lee as Joey Styles is introducing the show. The crowd chants for Terry Funk to make the save. Francine gets "She's a whore" chants. Funk finally makes the save, but it's after the damage has been done. Tommy Rich ends up attacking both Funk and Dreamer as Dreamer is being stretchered out.

Something about the way this was filmed made it look goofy like Tommy couldnt hear or see 4 people coming in on him. The beatdown was good and I do enjoy the chants the ECW audience would throw Francine's way as while it did in some ways get themselves over it at least kept the face/heel narrative of the promotion.

Tommy gets thrown off the stage but looks like he was able to brace his fall enough. Crowd takes the time to chant about Francine instead.

The garbage can shot to the skull was pretty brutal though.

This is sold way out of proportion to the brutality (or lack thereof) of a rather tepid sneak attack. After seeing Dreamer go off the Eagle's Nest through 4 tables, this doesn't really compare. Tommy Rich, God bless him, shows the Triple Threat how it's done in a second attack backstage.

Yeah, Tommy's beatdown looked way better than the Triple Threat's. Funk going apeshit and hurling chairs in a fit of rage was also pretty great and I loved Francine responding to her adoring audience by blowing them a collective kiss. Which probably wound them up all the more.
