Loss
Talk about it here.
Loss
JJ asks Sting to come out. He has an NWO match for him and a brand new contract! It takes him forever to get to the ring and Gene does a fine job of filling time. I refuse to believe JJ's office was flooded with telegrams in 1997. JJ offers Sting a match with Syxx and Sting rips up the contract. Poor JJ thought that would be sufficient. In an awesome moment, the crowd starts chanting Hogan's name, but JJ still has to sell not quite knowing.
Kevin Ridge
JJ was the master of the coin toss. But not the contract negotiation. I refuse to believe Syxx agreed to sign a contract to face Sting. Dillon is slow to pick up on who Sting wants to face. The crowd knows who Sting wants. Will JJ make it happen? soup23
Syxx is not a terrible offer by JJ but the bit at the end with him looking befuddled again was dumb as shit and this for sure should have been the last of these as even Tony on commentary was yelling that it was Hogan that Sting wanted. Smack2k
Maybe he thought "Hogan? Really? Hogan? You dont wanna face Hogan yet..."OK, here...how about Norton...how's that sound? Its my final offer!" Â Its amazing looking back that they still held that out until December for the match....I would say that wouldnt happen today.....I know Rock and Cena kind of did it, but Rock was gone for a large part of it and not showing up each week... El-P
JJ Dillon looks like a clueless idiot again, to the point even the announcers point it out. To me they and the great crowd reaction is what make this segment somewhat fun, because the Dillon character is really weak and makes WCW authority look stupid. Dooley
Dillon's just the set-up man for the crowd reactions here. These are great and are accomplishing exactly what they're supposed to.
PeteF3
Even Schiavone has picked up on what Sting wants, but Okerlund and Dillon can't. I can buy Dillon's offices receiving telegrams, smoke signals, and semaphore codes, but I refuse to believe all, or any of them, were pushing for Sting to wrestle Syxx.
