Last few minutes. Rick Rude comes to ringside when it looks like Page is about to win the U.S. title. Hennig messes up taking the Diamond Cutter. After Rude pulls the referee out and slugs him, the NWO surrounds the ring before Savage attacks him with the U.S. title. Hogan is out pissed off about all these Sting masks and is ready to take it out on DDP. He ends up giving the guy a Diamond Cutter, then puts a Hogan mask on DDP before giving him a second Diamond Cutter. Too little comeuppance for the NWO lately when the balance was just right for the first half of the year.

This feels way too familiar. Nobody helps out the WCW guys and security is nowhere to be seen.

If they woudl have gone with Sting decisively beating Hogan at Starrcade, then this last NWO Strong hold may not be seen as bad...

 

But this shit continued and continued...and I LOVE the NWO

WCW does feel pretty shoddy not helping out DDP at all. This is a good beatdown and all but they should have probably explained where the hell Sting is at.

I've been pleasantly surprised by Hennig thus far, but in this match he didn't work too hard, like he was just waiting for the eventual beating at the end. They had a better match on Saturday Night. Another nWo beatdown. Yawn.

DDP is to late '97 what Savage was to late '96. Yawn-inducing all the way. I get the idea of Hogan sending a message to deal with all the Sting masks, but if they were going to do that then the previous week should have ended with WCW standing tall to bring some balance to all this.
