Loss
Talk about it here.
Loss
Not much to this match other than fast-paced sequences that don't really build off of or to anything, but 1997 was a weak year for AAA anyway.
goodhelmet
I thought this was good enough to warrant inclusion on the yearbook. My notes are at home but I remember a really sick clothesline in the last round. The first two eliminations meant nothing but the last ten minutes were really good. soup23
Heavy Metal looked awful. Luckily he was gone in around 3 minutes. i enjoyed Octagon literally flying out his shoe on the outside. Garza vs. Latin Lover as the final may be the prettiest match in wrestling history. I don't know if it was all the hair flying around or what but I had trouble telling these two apart. The action didn't help as we get way too much back and forth for my tastes. I think this may showcase where 1997 AAA was at but if this is a representation, the promotion was lacking. Kevin Ridge
Octagon loses a shoe. If only Mike Milbury showed up and beat him with it. These would be the AAA guys showing up on WWF TV. What a quick finish with Garza hitting a moonsault. Everyone starts laying down like they are Jeff Jarrett. Nothing special.
PeteF3
I'm not entirely sure what I just watched. The most notable thing about this match appears to be the fact that Tirantes is mic'ed up. Metal and Octagon are eliminated in perfunctory fashion, then Lover and Garza do a weird tension sequence, then lie around as though they were 3/4 of the way through a 1-hour broadway. Lover wins after Garza splats on a twisting dive off the turnbuckle. This was too weird to be boring but as a match it's pretty whatever. KB8
I thought this was very terrible. Everything done at half-speed, lots of Latin Lover, a Lover/Garza stretch where Garza looked like he couldn't really be bothered, some Tirantes silliness...yeah, AAA wasn't too hot in '97.
