Tyson is a welcomed guest to Royal Rumble and he will be at Raw next Monday. Vince is starting to really get boo'd with every appearance now.

Like the Don King segment a week earlier, this one was nice for its subtlety. Pro wrestling is a place where fights can be agreed to on the fly and deals get done on a whim, so it is nice to see one angle where negotiations are presented as having to take some time. McMahon admits that the talks are not complete, but it is clear that he believes they will get there since Tyson is promised as being at the Rumble and RAW the next night. Vince teases a "big announcement" on RAW involving Tyson.

McMahon will conclude negotiations with Tyson at the Rumble and guarantees Mike will be on next week’s Raw.

Vince is still acting startled by getting booed. He has promised Mike Tyson will be at RAW next week.

Vince is still sort of in mid-'90s Classic Shill Vince mode. Tyson will be at the Rumble and at Raw next week. Can't wait!

I took the boos as being for Mike Tyson with Vince just acting like he's surprised that his idea may not be something the fans want. It all works out in the end though as the Tyson/Austin segment puts the death knell in WCW's coffin.

 

RATING: A healthy dose of cliche VKM.

Vince says the WWF has invited Tyson to the Royal Rumble & announces Tyson will be on RAW next week. I loved him acknowledging the boos from the crowd. It's clear the Mr. McMahon character was planned at this point.
