Lots of props and dumb spots leading to Sabu and Rob Van Dam winning the tag titles.

Garbage style match and not a particular good one as the best aspects of Sabu and RVD's spotfests were not on display here. Still miffed at the Candido/Storm reconciliation. *1/2

Candido and Storm have reconciled briefly after a dream partner tag match in which Candido picked Sabu and Storm picked RVD. RVD and Sabu took out both of them, which is what set this match up. The Storm-Candido reconciliation would be brief.

 

Not a great match at all, although the spots are decent. Not a very good six months of ECW at all, but my recollection is that it picks up quite a bit in the second half of the year.

Better than the Dudleyz clusterfuck but still not a good match. At the end they seem to be subtly building up to an eventual RVD vs. Shane Douglas match which I'm pretty sure never comes off.

Let me just say, Shane Douglas on commentary sounds like a doll with a pull string that just says random phrases. Seriously just listen to this again and Douglas speaks in one sentence sound bites that sound like recorded phrases for a Buzz Lightyear doll.

 

The match sucks, but at least there was a title change.
