victory Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 I nominated the Bulldogs despite not thinking they were a great team in a traditional sense. I see them as very similar to the Steiners where their structure and psychology isn't always the best, but they sure were fun to watch. I really wish those cage matches against the Hart Foundation were available just to see them in that type of environment. I have seen most of their WWF, NJPW and AJPW stuff. I might have to revisit a handful of matches to make a better assessment. As of now I see them in the middle of the pack.
shoe Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 I think those Bulldogs vs. Hart Foundation matches that made tape are really overrated . Some of them were good. I preferred their series with the Dream Team.
Matt D Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 I really loathe 88 Bulldogs. Dynamite was fairly good at garnering sympathy because he was so broken down but despite that they had a really bad year of taking way too much of their matches and playing against their strengths.
Jimmy Redman Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 There's one Bulldogs vs Harts match that I actually thought was really good. I think it's the one on the WWE Tag Teams DVD, which I think is a Boston Garden match from '85.
goodhelmet Posted October 14, 2014 Report Posted October 14, 2014 I'll always have a soft spot for the Bulldogs. My sister saw a bloody cage match in Sacramento against the Dream Team that I still have pictures of somewhere. One of my biggest mark out moments was Ozzy at ringside at Wrestlemania 2 when the Dogs won the belts.
Karl Posted October 19, 2014 Report Posted October 19, 2014 Bulldogs were a part of the first American wrestling match I ever saw, vs Hart Foundations from Boston Gardens - was shown on World of Sport instead of British Wrestling sometime in the mid 80's....opened my eyes to a whole new world that I never knew existed.
Timbo Slice Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 I think that time has pushed them aside for some of the other NWA/Mid-South-based teams that were superior, even though people talk up 80's WWF tag wrestling as a great period (and it was to an extent). They had their moments, but overall, I think there are other teams better than they were.
