Zoo Enthusiast
I hadn't looked... Steph lost to Heyman? That's crazy.
Loss
By a significant margin, even.
Matt D
There are plenty of people who will never give Stephanie credit because of her previous performance and things like her slotted in to the ECW owner role, not to mention notions of her on the storywriting team. Their is a predisposition to a lot of people to judge her on past performances. Plus she does such a good job that I think some people hate her so much that they can't seperate her and the performer. Matt D
I only feel a little bad for Steph because she seemed so honestly happy about her Slammy in 2013.
Strummer
yes she seemed genuinely happy to win that award. Nice moment

I also think that people know she is a real life decision maker backstage and there is a perception that she is holding back talent that the fans get behind. It's not fair but most people probably think she is just aping Vince's opinions on stuff. Happens to Hunter too
Yo-Yo's Roomie
One or two people probably just think Heyman is better. Or maybe they've seen so many awesome Steph performances the past year that they've forgotten about a bunch of them.
sek69
Not to say Dave isn't a huge NJPW fan, but could part of the reason they won so many awards is that between iPPV and NJPW World they're now more accessible to audiences outside Japan than ever before? On the flip side, CMLL went from having a million shows on TV in my area to one on 52MX that tends to only show the undercards/B-shows. If it wasn't for cubsfan doing God's work capturing footage from the various Terra streams there'd be nearly zero footage of any top matches available. I personally thought Atlantis-Ultimo was the best match of the year in terms of overall emotion, but I'm not sure anyone would even be able to watch it unless you happened to be watching the stream when it happened. BillThompson
There's way more CMLL footage available now than there ever has been, so much so that the abundance of CMLL footage/TV is a complaint among a lot of CMLL fans. The CMLL isn't as readily available argument doesn't hold water.
Loss
Heyman at his best is the best promo in wrestling. He's also one of the worst when he's at his worst. He was at his best maybe 1/3 of the time in 2014 Paul Heyman had one of the only genuinely funny moments last year that legit made me laugh out loud at the television. Heyman: "Knock, Knock." Crowd: "Who's there?" Heyman: "Mike." Crowd: "Mike Who?" Heyman: "Mike...lient Brock Lesnar conquered the undefeated... (etc.)" That was gold! I always thought they should have done a Heyman On The Street segment in whatever city they happened to be in where Heyman would harass passers by in a busy area to tell them that his client Brock Lesnar conquered the streak, maybe even with a megaphone, that they could tape earlier in the day and then air.
