pantherwagner
Here is BUTCH!!! Yeah that was it, but if you asked me to guess who's butch I would have guessed the BUTCH looking dude in your signature.
WrestlingPower
Loved this show. It really shows how pitiful it is that there isn't a PR region of the ballot with Hugo, Chicky, Gonzalez, etc. on it. I can completely understand that if Colon doesn't make it in then why bother putting others on the ballot. And also can see the idea that if you make a PR region you're essentially opening the way for Colon to go straight in. But not sure that Meltzer should be the one & only deciding those things. I've heard him say in the past that he won't put someone on the ballot if he feels they can never go in. To me those borderline people should be put on & let them drop off. Matt D
I am an hour and I can't even begin to tell you how much I learned from this, but then I don't think I have to because everyone else is in the same boat.
Stosh
I'm about half way through this and it's AMAZING. Just an incredible history lesson on PR history. Thank you.
SlingshotSuplex
This is an essential listen, and Boricua really brought it. Previously, I would have placed Colon as a fringe hall of famer--I think he should be in, but I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to vote for him, if I could. The evidence presented here is beyond overwhelming, though.
SomethingSavage
I'm less than an hour in, as I forced a stop before you guys dove into the Abby talk. Had to save something for my commutes today. That being said? Yeah. I'm digging the discussion so far. I'm just stoked to hear the islands get some exposure & attention here. Boricua seemingly has an answer for everything, and even when he doesn't - his estimations and explanations are insightful enough anyhow. Just a tremendous guest, and I hope he's back on when you guys take more time to spotlight guys from the Caribbean. The comparison to Lawler completely makes sense, and it's one I've constantly alluded to in the past. Never really thought about the parallels with Onita and FMW for whatever reason, but that was a cool observation by Dylan as well. Still got over two hours of this stuff to sink my teeth into - so I'll likely be back with more thoughts - but I had to express a bit of appreciation for finally getting around to some Puerto Rico talk. Matt D
Basically, I want to not watch anything else for the rest of the year but Puerto Rico. That's not going to happen, but it's where I ended up after listening to this.

My suspicion is that Meltzer has a sweeping dislike for PR wrestling post-Brody, but that's just a guess. He never talks about it and when he does it's not favorably. Putting Gonzalez on the ballot when Brody is the namesake of your annual Best Brawler award seems highly unlikely.
Dylan Waco
He will never put Invader 1 on the ballot. I don't agree with it, but I get why he won't. That said Miguel Perez Sr., Hugo Savinovich, Chicky Starr, The Sheepherders, TNT/Savio Vega and maybe even Ray Gonzalez at least deserve a shot at the ballot. I don't know enough about the role Victor Jovica played in promoting, but he's at least worth thinking about too. I'd vote for Hugo, and would have to be talked out of voting for Chicky. pantherwagner
I'd vote for Hugo and Chicky. I was completely sure that Perez had been on the ballot before, but I guess not... and I know why you are saying so, but I don't see the point of putting the Sheepherders on the ballot. They are not exceptionally strong on any of the criteria and at the end of the day for most people they are the Bushwhackers, one of the most embarrassing teams of the era. I love los Pastores and had they been in their physical prime during the ECW/Attitude era we'd be looking at them very differently as there would be more footage available. Funny enough, I don't know if they would have been as good as they actually were in the 80s. Now, all of that being said: can you imagine how insane Los Pastores vs. Villano IV and V, and Los Pastores vs. Brazo de Oro and Brazo de Plata in 1984 at El Toreo must have been? It's criminal that we only have a couple dozen hours on tape from that promotion's entire decade.
Smack2k
What an amazing show that was...I was pissed when it ended...I WANT MORE....You gotta do more details on the rest of the WWC feuds in the 80s - 90s, the underneath angles and other important happenings. I will be watching all PR this coming weekend...my plans to continue Jumbo's AWA title reign and get into Martel's have been put on hold!!! Mad Dog
My favorite is still the episode where it sounded like one of you were being attacked by a bird.
...TG
I'll be honest, while I know the names, I know virtually nothing about the wrestling scene besides the obvious (Brody's death, Colon/Abdullah, etc). I think a lot of my ignoring the promotion was due to Brody's death, so I was hesitant to listen. I then thought I was robbing myself because I love the history of wrestling. I was shocked how similar as to what I grew up - Memphis. I try to watch Memphis stuff once a week and hearing about Puerto Rico on the podcasts reminds me why I could care less about today's product - there's nothing personal which leads me to not care about any wrestler out there. Granted Vince makes a lot of money, but good Lord, imagine if he got actual "heat" with the product. God I miss old school wrestling. Thanks for the podcast BTW, was that a bird chirping?!? I was getting ready to post about similarities between Memphis and PR (and Lawler and Colon), and I see this. Oh well. Great show, guys. I love hearing about under appreciated territories. Maybe one on Portland, since Don Owen is on the WON HOF ballot?
