Noah's_Savior
Don't know if anyone here has been paying attention to Beginning Pro Actwres girl'Z but since the beginning of 2017 the roster has been popping up more places, most recently at JWP's 25th anniversary show, Pro Wrestling ACE, Pro Wrestling Diane, and even a tag match at a March AJPW show like Ice Ribbon has had in the past. Yumiko Hotta wrestled at their show, ACT 18, on March 26 and will have some of the Actwres girl'Z at a May 4 produce show. I don't know any backstage details like who the owner is and sponsors, but I found their recent increased presence on different cards interesting. donsem43
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhqD2iTZs9w This popped up in my YouTube suggestions and I thought some people here would want to see it. Someone did English subtitles for the video package that Samurai did for the last Shirai sister tag match back in 2015. It pretty much explains the relationship between the two of them from Io's perspective at least, Mio wasn't interviewed.
donsem43
Finished watching the 3/21 WAVE/Joshi Pro show. Even with all of the matches having a ten minute time limit the show still produce some really good bouts and also had some faces that don't usually make tape like Takumi Iroha. Overall, March was a damn good month for joshi. After checking my spreadsheet, almost half of the matches on it are from March and that is still with the Ice Ribbon, OZ Academy, and two Stardom shows to watch. Kagetsu announced that she will be leaving wrestling for the time being after April 23. Personally, I've found her work this year to be disappointing. Hopefully this will give her an opportunity to refocus and improve some things for the future.
aguakun
The Best Friends restart match was changed and they're now against Lovely Butchers. I wonder what went wrong.
donsem43
WAVE announced the lineup for this year's Catch the WAVE tournament. It's pretty underwhelming when you consider the lineup from the last two years although the final could be pretty good since it looks like it will be Sareee vs. either Misaki Ohata or Rina Yamashita. Also, the main event of the opening night of the tournament is Takumi Iroha (in a rare appearance on tape) vs. Ryo Mizunami. The last time Iroha had a big title match was vs. Kairi Hojo for the World of Stardom title back in 2015 and that match was really great. WAVE Network also uploaded every match from the last two tournaments. I really want to watch last years finals because the matchups for them look fantastic. Noah's_Savior
Pure-J has their first trainee, Tamami Kasazawa. She's 17 years old, 162 cm tall, and her sports background includes karate, judo, wrestling, baseball, and dodgeball. She grew up watching wrestling and her favorites were Dump, Aja, and Kyoko Inoue and she aims to debut at Pure-J's first show at Korakuen on August 11. During the main event of the latest Hikaru Shida produce show Hikaru lost consciousness but it doesn't seem serious right now, she tweeted that tomorrow she's getting an exam and apologizes for causing worry. Update: she has a concussion.

donsem43
During the main event of the latest Hikaru Shida produce show Hikaru lost consciousness but it doesn't seem serious right now, she tweeted that tomorrow she's getting an exam and apologizes for causing worry. Update: she has a concussion. Well, Shida worked the 4/29 WAVE show. The match was a six-man so maybe she was protected that way, still it's very worrisome that she would still be back that soon. The clip that was shown on Samurai of her getting knocked out didn't look that bad, but there will probably be a different angle when the show actually airs. Granted quite a few concussions are cause by hits that don't look like they would cause a head injury. Speaking of head injuries, I'm surprised that there wasn't much made of Kairi Hojo having to be helped to the back after her match on the 4/15 show. She got hit in the head with a gimmick chair but the chair didn't break right and it seemed to really jar her bad. She worked the show the next day and looked fine till Io Shirai did a boot scrape spot (don't know who thought that was a good idea), then she was holding her head again. Toni Storm won the Stardom Cinderella tournament beating Mayu Iwatani in the final. Storm will face Io Shirai for the World of Stardom title next month while Iwatani will take on Hojo for the Wonder of Stardom title. Note that Hojo is one defense short of tying the record of defenses of the White Belt and I'm sure Stardom wants to have each of the Three Daughters have a singles title record. Also, both Io and Hojo are on the tickets for the June Korakuen show but the July show just has all of the belts on it, no wrestlers. On top of that, there was talk after Mania that WWE was looking at Storm for WWEUK so it looks like it could be quite a while before the Stardom roster is settled. donsem43
Kairi Hojo made it official today that she is leaving Stardom. Apparently, Io Shirai still hasn't signed but the impression is that she will eventually.
Noah's_Savior
Kairi, Toni Storm, Mayu Iwatani, and Io all appear to have limited time left in Stardom and they still haven't started to transition titles off of them. Meanwhile Momo isn't due to return from injury until 2018 and I don't know when Yoko Bito is returning after her arm surgery.
donsem43
I'm leaning toward Mayu staying because they seem to be running an angle teasing her joining Oedo Tai. Maybe she's trying to change her look before they give her a run on top. Watching the Cinderella tourney, I'm surprised that they didn't give any big wins to the younger girls. That would have been a great point to accelerate the pushes they are giving Jungle Kyona and HZK but they went the predictable route. aguakun
Yeah, it seems Mayu and Hana will form a team now that Kagetsu is gone and Kris Wolf's visa is expiring. Definitely looking forward to this.
WingedEagle
Any speculation how Stardom will round out the top of the card if Storm & Shirai indeed depart over the next few months?
jushin muta liger
Any speculation how Stardom will round out the top of the card if Storm & Shirai indeed depart over the next few months? I would think they would push Jungle Kyona more and also Konami. So you would have Mayu, Jungle, Hana, Konami with Yoko Bito in the wings once her hand heals. donsem43
HZK will be in that mix too. I assume Hiroyo Matsumoto will be in a similar role to the one that she's had for the last couple of months, although there is a slight chance she might be brought in for the WWE woman's tournament since she had a tryout in 2014 and Sara Del Ray knows her from Shimmer. I also expect them to start looking for another foreign face for the company, but again the WWE might limit their options till the end of the year. If Storm is just signing with WWEUK she still might be able to work for Stardom depending on what kind of taping schedule the WWE decides to go with. It won't be nearly as often as she does now though.
Noah's_Savior
https://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20170509-00000010-tospoweb-fight A good interview with Kairi about her leaving Stardom and heading over seas. She said age was a factor for her deciding that now is her last chance to go to WWE, if she was younger she might've said no and thought about retirement last September after her injury. Still feels incomplete as a wrestler and wants to train to learn more about wrestling. Bull Nakano encouraged her to go, saying she'll get to grow as a wrestler and a person, and Kairi said she's gotten more support on social media than she expected. WingedEagle
Meltzer has confirmed that Io Shirai is signing with WWE. Not sure how Stardom holds things together with her, Hojo and potentially Toni Storm gone as well.
donsem43
Honestly, I think Stardom is better off now with their top talent leaving rather than in 2012/13 when most of their young talent was leaving. I am baffled as to why they had Iwatani beat Hojo for the White Belt when they could have really boosted HZK by having her win. Especially if Mayu was just going to be the next challenger for Io anyway. Plus, it would have fit with their recent booking.

Do you think they have the youngsters to promote to the top in short or even medium term? Mayu, Matusomoto & Jungle seem like obvious fits up top for the moment, but that really guts the middle. Curious to see how HZK develops. She's held her own as Shirai's partner but haven't seen her deliver in a singles setting yet.
