As much as he is consistent for the good and the bad, I think Gedo launching Okada to the fucking moon and never looking back was a pretty ballsy move, I'd say. Surely featuring someone as strongly and consistently at the top of the card helped him become a star.

I actually think that move was made more out of necessity than many think, especially with Naito floundering a bit before his Mexico excursion. People seem to forget that.

 

This really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone on the WWE front. UK is just the beginning of efforts like this. At some point, they'll come for Mexico and Japan and it'll be a similar scenario. They don't mind throwing around the money right now.

Anyone heard about the rumor that WWE is bringing in Pete Dunne, Mark Andrews & Trent Seven for Rumble weekend. They were apparently pulled from a podcast (at least, I think it's a podcast, didn't hear the whole conversation).

They were supposed to work a show for WxW on the 28th, but were pulled due to WWE-commitments. So yeah, I can see that.

It's more likely they were pulled just to spend the weekend backstage at a WWE show to learn the proper way to genuflect to your elders and whatnot.

That's what would happen too. I will promise you that at minimum 90% of that audience didn't see the UK tournament.
