WWE 6/12-6/19

- Pretty good pull-apart brawl between Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar but this has to be what? The 3rd or 4th time they've done this with Brock? I'd say it was ineffective, but the crowd ate it up and it was cool seeing Joe kick Lesnar square in the face. I'm not expecting these two to turn back the clock at Great Balls (yeah, I'm shortening it and hoping it catches on worldwide), but I'm definitely going to tune in.

- If you're Seth Rollins - hell, if you're anyone - you're hurting yourself by selling shock or fear of Bray Wyatt. Bray Wyatt really is the anti-Taker as Taker was basically protected for all of his WWE career and Bray Wyatt hasn't been protected for any of his WWE career. Hell, they still haven't taken RANDY ORTON'S FACE OUT OF HIS TITANTRON VIDEO! I knew Vince and the rest of the creative team had stopped giving a shit about the guy's presentation, but the production crew checked out too?

- I really like Emma, so it kinda pained me to hear her music hit to interrupt a completely dead divas segment. Her big return was basically just to come out and say "Remember me? I'm still just a space filler" before Sasha Banks arrived to actually attack Bliss. Why not have Emma return to take out Banks? Or screw Jax by aiding Bliss? Or what about just having Emma come in as Bayley's next hurdle or as the woman determined to retire Mickie James? When you've got a relatively thin division on your hands, it behooves you to present returning or new talents as more than just Girl #4. She tapped out at the end of the match too. Welcome back.

I thought the Brock/Joe segment was excellent. The build so far for this has been exceptional, especially considering how they have booked and framed Joe before this. Joe and Heyman, in a matter of two weeks/segments have some how given this a real big-fight feel and sold Joe as a unique threat to Brock. Joe striking first, the way he kept swinging and striking when Brock grabbed him, and that kick to the face all stood out to me. It seems these segments are getting generally positive reviews on the whole. I won't be surprised if they extend this into SummerSlam if the build up maintains its momentum. For the match itself, I am trying to keep my expectations in check somewhat, but there is no reason for me to believe that these two can't have a great match if they are given the freedom to do so. To me, this is the best thing they have done in some time and the segments are must-catch. I hope they let them pay it off with a quality match (or two).

I'm hyped for Joe/Brock since Brock seems to enjoy working with a guy not afraid to trade bombs with him. Motivated Brock vs Revitalized Joe could be a sleeper great match.

I'm a little bit excited about the match, but I'm also nervous, because honestly I can count on one hand the legitimately good Brock Lesnar matches that he's been involved with since his return from UFC. I think it boils down to how much Brock really wants to work with Joe. If he wants to, the match could be awesome. If he treats Joe the way he treated Ambrose, then...oh boy.

What is ACTUALLY scary about Bray Wyatt though? His stock "spooky" spot is to do a fucking bridge and look at you upside down OH NOES~! Someone who is basically untouchable like Roman or Seth need to kill that god awful spot forever by just booting him right in his face the next time he does it.

Man, I must be in the minority because I am not tentative at all about the potential of Brock/Joe. I mean nothing is sure-fire, so it is always a matter of potential. However, I think Brock has a really good track record in big matches since his UFC return (talking here about his initial return, not the little hiccup). The Ambrose match was a anomaly because he was headed to the UFC and focused on that comeback fight. I think Brock likes working with someone he can hit hard and who will hit him hard right back. Joe is absolutely that kind of guy. I am also not nearly as low on Joe as some people are. Sure he has been somewhat limited since getting called up (though I thought he has performed well, just been put in limiting spots). His NXT run was really strong though, especially in big matches. I liked his performances in the Balor and Nak feuds quite a bit. The feud with Nak was disappointing, but I watched every match and consistently felt like Joe was a bright spot. His 2/3 falls match with Zayn was really good. Is he prime Joe, naw, but he is still a pretty high level performer and I suspect he can even turn it back to hit that other level a time or two if need be.

As I said before, I am trying to not get my hopes too high, because you never know. They could book it as as quash to "shock" everyone or it might just not jive as well as I assume it should (like Joe vs Nak), but I do think this has all the pieces and and am substantially more optimistic about the potential of this match than most, it seems.

Idk, there should always been some trepidation that Brock is just going to do his 5 minute squash match against literally anyone. I have a little less trepidation when it comes to Brock/Joe as Brock's best matches since his return have been with either vets or guys who were legitimate athletes. Joe is both, and his athletic endeavors happen to line up with Brock's, and he's definitely not afraid to throw or take big bombs, so I have pretty reasonable hopes it will be more than what we've seen of Brock against Rollins/Ambrose/Wyatt types.

This is her comeback # how many already ?

With Lana doing the glamour girl bit, I guess Emmalina is destined to be lost in the shuffle forever at this rate. Waste of talent.

Yeah I sometimes wonder if the people going out of their way to praise WWE for no longer having "whip your titties out" matches anymore realize that they are totally unable to book any of the current women properly.

In fairness to them. At least the women are just suffering from the general incompetence of the company when it comes to booking talent now.
