LowBlowPodcast
WWF Presents: Wrestling Challenge Hosted By: Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby the Brain Heenan Featuring: Sting & The Tonga Kid, The British Bulldogs, Rockers, Hercules, & The One Man Gang! WWF Presents: All-American WrestlingMean Gene Okerlund & Pat Patterson Featuring: Curt Hennig, Dino Bravo, The Honky Tonk Man, Brutus Beefcake, & Demolition!WWF Presents: Superstars of WrestlingHosted By: Vince McMahon & Jesse ‘ The Body’ VenturaMatches from: Poughkeepsie, NY – Mid- Hudson Civic Center Featuring: Ted Dibiase, Don Muraco, The Mercenaries, Barry Windham, & Curt Hennig vs Nikolai Volkoff! WWF Presents: Prime Time Wrestling Hosted by Gorilla Monsoon & Jesse the Body Ventura Matches from: Poughkeepsie, NY – Mid- Hudson Civic Center Prime Time opens this week with Bobby Heenan and the Heenan Family out putting themselves over with Jesse while Gorilla can’t believe it. Bundy is talking about putting an end to Hulk Hogan at SNME and how it will be nice to win the title but will be better to break Hogan in half! Windham puts over how he has signed to face Randy Savage and that the IC Title, just like the King of the Ring will be his when it is all said and done. Manny Fernandez calls out Randy Savage for their SNME match and says he is going to soften him up just enough for Windham to finish the job. Then we hear from Rick Rude who calls out Curt Hennig and puts over how Hennig turned down the chance of a lifetime to be part of the family but now he is public enemy number one. Heenan caps it off by saying no one is safe and that the Family will stop at nothing to get what it wants! Jim Powers & Paul Roma vs Hercules & Nikolai Volkoff w/ Slick -A nice little encounter here with Roma and Powers looking strong but the real situation is how we see the One Man Gang come out with Slick! They are chumming it up outside the ring while inside Hercules and Nikolai look formidable but Roma and Powers just don’t seem to be clicking. The big finish sees Roma holding Nikolai but Powers now paying attention leading to Hercules nailing Roma and throwing him out of the ring to the floor and then Nikolai hitting a running knee on Powers for the 3-count. Roma and Powers are not seeing eye to eye here. We then cut over to the desk where we see Superstar Graham and Bull Ganter. They are putting over the Bull who says he is calling out Hercules, Nikolai, and the big One Man Gang next week. He pulls over Jim Powers and Paul Roma and talks about them making a six-man tag team for next week and the crowd pops. Powers is all for it but Roma walks off. *COMMERCIAL* Prime Time is back and we see Billy Jack Haynes come back out and he is still sporting the busted up ribs but he calls out King Kong Bundy and says he is going to heal from these ribs and he is coming for King Kong baby! Curt Hennig vs Black Shadow -A pretty solid contest for Hennig here who is really primed to be a top star in the WWF. He handles Shadow with ease and comes away looking good even locking in a figure four leglock for the finish. He then joins Gorilla and Jesse… Hennig joins the crew and he talks about Barry Windham and the Heenan Family. He puts over how Heenan was lining his pockets but in reality he was cutting a whole to steal the money when he walked away. Heenan is nothing but a scab and he will always be a scab no matter what! Hennig then turns his attention to Rick Rude and says that if Rick Rude wants to step into that ring, it would be a perfect match to show everyone why he isn’t afraid of the Heenan Family! *COMMERCIAL* Prime Time is back and we see Hulk Hogan along with Andre the Giant! They cut promos on Saturday Night’s Main Event on March the 1st in Atlantic City. Andre is signed to take on Ted Dibiase but he knows that Dibiase will have some kind of trick up his sleeve. Hogan says that Bundy is going to feel the full wrath of Hulkamania once and for all but then we hear a commotion and here comes Bundy and the Heenan Family. They are talking and screaming towards Hogan and Andre while out of the back of the arena comes Ted Dibiase and Bossman and Dibiase NAILS Hogan with the briefcase! The Heenan Family pounces and they are all over Andre and Hogan until we see Curt Hennig and some of the other babyfaces come out and chase this off. This is pure chaos as Gorilla is going wild. Hogan rips off his shirt and makes a go at Dibiase and Bundy who are protected and Andre is like a monster unleashed! *COMMERCIAL* We’re back for more Prime Time with the dust settling here and Gorilla is putting over how Heenan is really stirring the pot and Jesse loves it. They talk about SNME and how a lot could change for WrestleMania but one match that will stick is the tag title match with the Harts and Fabs! We see the Harts come out and they work the crowd saying that Jimmy Hart doesn’t know what’s coming to him and then when it is all said and done, the Harts and Demolition will reign supreme! MAIN EVENT The Rockers vs The Fabulous Ones w/ Jimmy Hart -Jannetty and Michaels haven’t had a lot of time in the spotlight but they get it here tonight with a very fun 12-minute contest. These two teams are very complimentary of one another and go the distance to tell a fun story. The more experience Fabs pull out all the stops while the young and flashy Rockers try to catch them off guard with move after move. We end with a pretty fun finish where Michaels and Jannetty have subdued Kiern for a moment but Jimmy Hart gets involved to stop Michaels who goes out of the ring. Marty Jannetty then turns around to find a Stan Lane boot right to the mush and he is out of it. 1….2...3 and the Fabs are the winners. The crowd isn’t happy but the champions reign supreme here. Gorilla and Jesse put them over and say we will hear from Randy Savage when we come back! *COMMERCIAL* We return to Prime Time with another scathing Randy Savage promo. He is going right after the Heenan Family and says that next week he gets his shot to take one of them out and Manny Fernandez is going to feel just an ounce of what Savage has in store for Windham! Jesse and Gorilla put it over and talk about how they will cover all the results from SNME next week right here on Prime Time! WWF Presents: Saturday Night’s Main Event VII 3/1/86 Atlantic City, NJ - Convention Center Ballroom WWF CHAMPIONSHIP Hulk Hogan © vs King Kong Bundy w/ Bobby Heenan Andre the Giant vs Ted Dibiase w/ Big Bossman Randy Savage w/ Elizabeth vs Manny Fernandez w/ Bobby Heenan EIGHT MAN TAG The Hart Foundation & Demolition vs Greg Valentine, Honky Tonk Man & The Fabulous Ones
gordi
I have a feeling the Heenan Family will eventually regret jumping Andre like that. Nice 12-minute all-action tag match, and a hot Savage promo to,wrap things up.
dawho5
Those were the things that stood out for me too. The main would have been incredible and Savage vowing revenge on anyone is must-see. I do like the focus on the Heenan family here.
rainmakerrtv
Angry Savage is the best Savage. Love the way this is shaping up.
spaldoni
I agree, an intense and angry Savage is bad news for the Heenan family. I have a feeling the SNME will be a wild one. Really liked the Rockers/Fabs match. I'm interested in the Roma/Powers saga. Curt Hennig continues to shine.
GeneJackson95
Great way to build the Rockers with a strong showing against the Fabs! Savage is really standing out and becoming one of the top stars in the WWF along with Windham and Hennig who is steadily climbing the ranks. spaldoni
Awesome main event! Also that Windham/Hennig match looked outstanding. The Fab One's are having a nice run with the tag titles. Savage/Valentine looked pretty good and Windham keeps the heat going on his feud with Savage.
