sek69 Posted April 18, 2018 Report Posted April 18, 2018 I am noticing when I post here via my iPhone that all apostrophes and quotation marks get removed from whatever I typed. It seems to be a recent issue, wondering if its some kind of board software quirk. Some examples: these all have apostrophes when I type them in.... wont cant didnt This should have quotation marks around it When I hit send they all will disappear. Quote
Edwin Posted April 18, 2018 Report Posted April 18, 2018 That's not an issue with the board, it's an issue with your phone. I have had this issue with iOS on iPhone and iPad. It's the smart punctuation. On the iPhone -- go to Settings --> General --> Keyboard --> Smart Punctuation Turn that function off. It will do the trick. Not sure how to turn it off on Android, however. Quote
sek69 Posted April 18, 2018 Author Report Posted April 18, 2018 Not sure now it's an issue with the phone and not the board when it formats properly in the reply box and only disappears when I hit either the post or preview buttons. Quote

Yes, that's the exact issue I was experiencing. It's the Smart Pronunciation. Quote
sek69 Posted April 18, 2018 Author Report Posted April 18, 2018 Well I'll give it a shot, I'm actually on a computer now, will try replying from my phone later to test it. Quote
Loss Posted April 19, 2018 Report Posted April 19, 2018 I've had the same issue. Edwin's diagnosis and solution is correct. Quote
